Dear Friends,

Welcome to the 56th Annual Christmas Tree Ball! I’m grateful for your participation in tonight’s event, which is Madison’s premiere annual fundraiser It means the world to us that you have taken the time to celebrate with us, learn more about Madison, and support so many New York City young people who need us the most.

This year ’ s theme is “Now More Than Ever.” While the past few years have been hard on all us, we cannot overestimate the impact they’ve had on youth. In my role as Executive Director, I see first hand the many pandemic setbacks, the trauma, food insecurity, and growing mental health struggles. These forces continue to fester in communities like ours ones that have been hit disproportionately hard by the pandemic.

“Now More Than Ever,” it’s important to have the strongest Clubs possible for our city’s youth places that give them the access to the opportunities, mentorship and experiences that they need to succeed no matter where they live or what circumstances surround them. A place for youth to dance, play sports and get help solving a math problem or writing a résumé A place to learn, grow, lead and go further than they ever imagined.

Tonight, you will hear how Madison has continued to rise to ensure that we meet the challenges of the moment, and provide the opportunities needed to stay relevant to our members and their families. You will see our youth share their many talents that were nurtured at the Club, and you will hear stories of impact and of the potential of our young members You will see proof that our model works

One thing is clear though, “Now More Than Ever,” we also need our advocates, donors and champions like you. We cannot do this work alone. With this in mind, we want to say “Thank You.” Thank you to this year ’ s event co chairs, Trevor Fennell and John Gelb, and to the Event Committee who made this celebration possible. Thank you to our Members of the Corporation and Board. And thank you to you by joining us tonight, you are doing your part to help us meet this moment!
