INSIDE THE INNOVATIONS. For VTX A-Series, next-generation transducers were engineered from the ground up by JBL for linear performance, high output and consistent coverage. Together, their custom-designed low-, mid-, and high-frequency sections deliver the highest output per weight in their class, with improved low-frequency extension and controlled directivity that ranges from 90–120 degrees to match the application of each loudspeaker. Physical design refinements integrate more drivers into smaller, lighter cabinets for reduced overall system weight and truck-friendly dimensions. A revolutionary auto-locking rigging and suspension system speeds deployment time. It all adds up to big-system-JBL sound in our most convenient and comprehensive offering to date. Smooth, Even Coverage In Any System Configuration With VTX A-Series systems, every seat in the house is a sweet spot: The A12 and A12W exhibit 90-degree and 120-degree dispersion patterns respectively down to 250 Hz, while the A8 exhibits a 110-degree dispersion pattern down to 300 Hz, and the A6 offers 110-degree dispersion down to 500 Hz. VTX A-Series speakers adhere tightly to their dispersion patterns, which keeps the sound where you want it: off the stage and in the audience. All four models feature the same HF compression driver, waveguide technology and other components, ensuring uniform, consistent voicing and coverage and providing the flexibility to design systems that match the needs of any listening environment.

The high-frequency (HF) section found in the VTX A-Series combines the HF phasing plug and waveguide into a single part, which increases sensitivity and provides better tolerances while reducing distortion and overall weight. Advanced Mid Frequency Driver Flanking the High Frequency section of the A8 and A12 are four new mid-frequency cone transducers with Neodymium motors delivering extremely low distortion. The mid frequency drivers are integrated into the redesigned Radiation Boundary Integrator creating a symmetrical wavefront across the entire mid and high frequency bandpass, resulting in a smooth response and exceptional clarity. Superior Low Frequency Extension The VTX A-Series delivers big low-frequency performance thanks to its custom lightweight, neodymium low-frequency woofers. Transducer design is based around JBL’s Differential Drive technology, a dual-voicecoil, dual-gap configuration that maximises excursion, power handling and sensitivity in a compact footprint. The resulting sound quality is extraordinarily transparent, even at very high SPLs. Coupled with flared, exponential low-frequency ports, A-Series’ new LF drivers provide low-frequency extension that’s unmatched in their class.

Tour-Tested VTX Build Quality As you can expect from JBL, VTX A-Series loudspeakers are made from high-quality materials and are built to withstand life on the road. Their full-face, powder-coated grille designs reduce the number of exposed components and protect loudspeakers from extreme weather and environmental conditions. Enclosed grilles allow the system to achieve a high Ingress Protection rating of IP55, and can be finished in a variety of colours to suit fixed installations. JBL VTX-A6 SUB COMPACT DUAL 6.5” LINE ARRAY ELEMENT

The VTX A6 line array element brings our flagship VTX A-Series technologies to a subcompact form factor for small to medium-sized touring systems and fixed installations. The fully passive, two-way loudspeaker is a versatile solution for production companies, touring acts, rental houses, theaters and houses of worship, or anyone who demands superior sound reinforcement at any scale. Like all VTX products, the A6 is engineered for stunning sonic performance and ease of integration and deployment, as a standalone solution or as a supplement to larger VTX systems. The A6 houses two custom 6.5-inch woofers and a three-inch annular diaphragm compression driver and features all of the acoustic innovations that are hallmarks of the VTX series, from the patented Radiation Boundary Integrator™ (RBI) to our proprietary Differential Drive® woofers. NEW JBL VTX-B15 COMPACT ARRAYABLE 15” SUBWOOFER JBL VTX-B15G COMPACT 15” SUBWOOFER

The VTX B15 Compact Arrayable 15-inch Subwoofer extends the low-end performance of VTX full-range sound reinforcement systems, including the VTX A6 Subcompact Dual 6.5-inch Line Array Element. The B15 joins the VTX B-Series subwoofer family in harnessing VTX acoustic innovations such as SlipStream™ double-flared exponential ports and Differential Drive® dual voice coil woofer design. The B15 has the same width and suspension hardware as the A6, allowing the two products to be combined in a range of flown and ground-stacked configurations. The B15G is acoustically identical to the B15 but designed without rigging hardware, reducing weight and cost for situations where rigging is not required. A6 arrays can be stacked on top of B15G using the A6 Base Plate accessory, and eyebolts are available for suspending single subwoofers in fixed installation applications.

JBL VTX-A8 DUAL 8” COMPACT LINE ARRAY LOUDSPEAKER WITH 110º DISPERSION

The VTX A8 was designed to solve the diverse sound reinforcement needs of production companies, rental houses, theatres, houses of worship, as well as production applications requiring front fills, side arrays or other auxiliary support for larger-scale VTX systems. Proprietary JBL woofers and our latest-generation high-frequency transducer and waveguide technology, provides unmatched performance, efficiency, and a consistent 110-degrees of horizontal coverage. The A8 combines two 8” woofers, four 3.5” midrange drivers and two 2” highfrequency drivers in a single low-profile cabinet. Proprietary double-flared lowfrequency ports, precisely calculated for greater low-frequency performance extend the usable operating range down to 49Hz.

The VTX B18 subwoofer is designed to complement VTX full-range sound reinforcement systems. The VTX B18 features JBL’s new 2288H 18” woofer, engineered for improved linearity, increased sensitivity and extra-long excursion. The 2288H is based on JBL’s Differential Drive, dual voice coil, dual-gap technology, which delivers better heat dissipation, lower power compression and wider dynamic range than conventional single-coil designs. The B18 incorporates JBL’s patented Slip Stream™ double-flared exponential low-frequency port design to improve airflow and reduce audible turbulence, even at maximum excursion. The B18 shares the industrial design of the JBL’s VTX A-Series products and has the same width and suspension hardware as the VTX A8, allowing the two products to be used together in a variety of flown or ground-stacked configurations. The VTX B18 can be deployed in omni-directional or cardioid configurations, in arrays of up to 16 enclosures.

The VTX B28 is JBL Professional’s next-generation dual 18-inch subwoofer, designed to complement the company’s flagship VTX full-range sound reinforcement systems. The VTX B28 features two JBL 2288H-M 18-inch woofers engineered for improved linearity, efficiency, and extra-long excursion. The 2288H-M employs Differential Drive – JBL’s dual voice coil, dual-gap technology – to deliver better heat dissipation, lower power compression and wider dynamic range than conventional single-coil designs. The B28 incorporates a double-flared, exponential, low frequency port design to improve airflow and reduce audible turbulence, even at high output levels. The B28 shares the industrial design of the VTX A-Series products, and features an innovative and simple-to-use two-point rigging system. The all-captive rigging system utilises a spring-loaded mechanism to deploy the link bars and a unique locking system that complies with all safety requirements without using traditional quick release pins. B28 subwoofers can be deployed in omni-directional or cardioid arrays, ground stacked, or in suspended configurations of up to 16 enclosures.

JBL VTX A-SERIES

RIGGING SYSTEM. INNOVATIVE RIGGING AND TRANSPORT

VTX A-Series marks a giant leap forward in how loudspeakers are rigged and transported. To facilitate fast deployment, array elements are stacked four per vertical transporter (VT) cart in a 10-degree collapsed position. A patented auto-locking mechanism lets users select angles while components are on the ground; once the system is suspended, the mechanism automatically locks cabinet angles in designated positions. Angles can be set in increments as low as 0.25 degrees simply by pulling and placing a pin—it’s that easy.

The cabinets maintain their splay positions until pressing their release button, at which point the red locking lever opens allowing the cabinets to collapse again for storage and transportation.

The RED locking lever identifies whether the system is locked or unlocked. The system is locked when the RED locking lever is recessed into the cabinet. The mechanism can be unlocked with the press of a button.

LINE ARRAY CALCULATOR 3™ LAC is a simulation software for designing and predicting JBL VTX A-Series systems. LAC predicts the acoustical performance of line array systems as well as flown and ground stacked subwoofer arrays. Subwoofer delay values can be generated for electronic delay steering (EDS) using the built-in coverage calculator. Beyond the acoustical prediction, LAC is used for mechanical validation of all used hardware and calculating weight limits and safety warnings.

ARRAY LINK™ JBL Array Link is a mobile companion app that works in conjunction with JBL’s LAC software to assist with deploying JBL VTX A-Series systems. Array Link uses a QR code system to transfer all mechanical array information from the main LAC application to a mobile phone. All relevant rigging and mechanical options are presented in an easy-tounderstand layout. The application is compatible with iOS® and AndroidTM and can be obtained from the respective app stores.
