The main concept behind this project was to create a sensory experience for clients, and we mapped out the consumer journey through four distinct areas of the store — Awareness (of the brand), Discovery, Exploration, and Accomplishment (pay points). I assisted in the design of the facade and spearheaded the 3D modeling of the entire store, including interior fixtures, facade design, and exterior touchpoints. Thus, the outcome is a fully immersive experience store celebrating the stages of construction.

Each fixture was modelled in detail according to the set dimensions, including the centerpiece with a diorama of cement trucks hard at work. The materials I have used on the walls and furniture in the model have been inserted using photographs from the material board, which was also curated by me and my associate architect.

Street furniture detail design
I worked on the detailed design of each wayfinding element, both along the Saloma bridge and on the pedestrian plazas leading to the bridge from either side. My vision for the main logo was to depict the bridge itself, which symbolised marriage the between two starkly contrasting neighbourhoods of Kuala Lumpur. This was done by mimicing the arrangement of flowers given to the bride from the groom at traditional Malaysian weddings.

I brought my knowledge of Revit and BIM Systems to this design project with in-depth detailed drawings of over 5 floors of the different blocks in terms of plans, sections and elevations. The facade of the cultural center was also a part of my vision to highlight the rich traditional tapestry of India, with a jaali screen cut in intricate motifs of the Tree of Life, which further emphasises the Commission’s homage to its rich heritage.

Located just a mile away from key cultural landmarks in Greenwich such as the O2 and the Design District, the chosen site is surrounded by a rich maritime heritage and a vibrant artistic atmosphere. Thus, an industrial symbiosis with the site has begun, giving rise to the concept of the Maritime Creative Quarter — a mixed-use site that pays homage to its historical significance.

Post-Industrial Waterfronts:
An urban renaissance

This dissertation explores the synergies between Western urban design paradigms employed for successful revitalisations of historic post-industrial urban waterfronts in port cities. In the evolving panaroma of urban regeneration, the post-industrial waterfront is one of the most interesting developments due to its high visibility and complex nature.
Historic cities in particular have a transient image of these waterfronts, which have interacted with the subsequent urban fabric in varied modalities throughout different time periods. Through the case study perspectives of three such cities — London, Barcelona, and Amsterdam — this investigation focuses

on regeneration strategies, the relationship between global infrastructure and local networks,and a brief history of each waterfront. This was to understand the study areas within a broader temporal context and gain insight into the shared and unique challenges faced by each city, followed by a morphological analysis of the transition of their waterfronts.
A framework was developed based on the explored literature of best practices of successful post-industrial waterfront regeneration strategies with relevant indicators, broadly categorised as ‘design of

the built environment’ and the ‘place and programme’ of the waterfront. Elements of the best practices in the chosen case studies have been used to design an updated framework for successful regeneration of waterfronts, which can then be applied to a range of historic Western post-industrial cities in the future.Thus, this research proves the transient nature of urban design in today’s world and concludes on a set of significant strategies that can be replicated in future waterfronts, owing to the acknowledgement of broader contextual factors that keep evolving in this global world.
