Kim Scodro is the owner of a boutique luxury interior design firm, Kim Scodro Interiors, with locations in Chicago and Phoenix. She has a licensed rug collection with Nourisan. She and her talented team collaborate to create spaces that are timeless and refined, yet tastefully current. It is her belief that inspiration should come from the client and the way that they live. Incorporating their unique personalities, styles and interests is what gives a home soul and makes a room come alive. All Pearson Collection sleep sofas are custom built with premium mechanisms of heavy duty angular and tubular steel. These premium mechanisms feature an advanced linkage design for a double locking T.V. headrest and allows for easy opening and closing. They also are equipped with dual tubular legs for maximum support, a helically suspended polypropylene mattress deck which eliminates noisy and uncomfortable spring-wire, and a unique suspension cross wire in the critical weight area for enhanced support in the seating and sleeping positions.

Pearson offers a choice of two different mattresses. The standard Pearson Collection Mattress is a 5” thick innerspring coil unit (non reversible) encased in a luxuriously quilted top, with allergy-free, mildew resistant, odorfree padding.

For a more luxurious option choose the Pearson Collection Air Dream Mattress option. This mattress offers the same plush dimensions and luxury feel as a premium mattress, with a spring coil base topped with a cushioning layer of air that inflates to 11” thick. The air cushion layer can be adjusted from plush firm to supportively soft, and includes an embedded inflation/deflation mechanism which inflates in under one minute. Available: in full and queen sizes only. Check with your customer service representative for up-charges.

THE PEARSON COLLECTION RECLINING CHAIR

The Rachel Reclining Chair is custom built with premium mechanisms of heavy duty steel. The chair opens smoothly with a push on the arm and close easily with simple leg pressure. Kiln-dried hardwood frames add strength and durability to the chairs. The Rachel Reclining Chair features solid maple legs and is available: in most finishes. The seat cushions can be specified in a variety of constructions; check your price list for availability of specific seat cushions. Available in all our textiles and leathers, or customer’s own materials, these reclining chairs can be customized to fit your interiors with the addition of decorative nail heads and trims.

LEAF FINISH OPTIONS Metal leaf finishes are available in three color options. Each feature hand-applied metal leaf applied over a rich toned base finish and then a glaze to complete the color tone. Patina begins as Silver Leaf and then is hand-antiqued to produce and antiqued finish that blends beautifully with both gold and silver toned finishes. Lacquer is then applied to seal the final leaf finish.

CUSHIONS & PILLOWS When specifying the seat cushion construction on an order, do not neglect to specify the pillow back construction as well. An undesirable combination of choices could result in unsatisfactory seating and less comfort. All seat and back pillows require regular maintenance including vacuuming the surface and the inside of the casing to prevent damage to the cover and cushion from soil and to help maintain their shape and longevity.

Ours are fitted arm covers, not 'caps' and cover the front/face of the arm approximately 4-6" depending on the style and go back approximately 18" on the top of the arm. They are not lined. Exclusive Salem Rods® which are steel rods suspended from the seat rails by tightly coiled springs, achieve extra support plus flexibility to the seat are standard on Pearson collection styles.

Seat springs rest on a non-absorbent odor-free polypropylene web base. A black base fabric neatly conceals the inner construction.

THE FRAME Frames feature are constructed from a mix of kiln-dried hardwood, in large-size dimensions, shaped to the contour of each design and with the finest 12-ply hardwood plywood used in the industry. .

THE CUSHIONS Pearson’s standard cushion, Spring-Down, has coil springs in muslin pockets mounted in a box fabricated from polyurethane foam.

This unit is wrapped in layers of top quality polyester fiber on the top, bottom and both sides.

This unit is then inserted into a down-proof casing which has a channeled top and bottom. Each channel is filled with a combination of 50% polyester fiber, 45% waterfowl feathers, and 5% goose down. Additional luxurious cushion and pillow choices are available:.

THE SKIRT OR BASE BORDER The dressmaker skirt is held in position by a sewn panel that is fitted to the frame, allowing the skirt to hang freely.

All Pearson skirts have a sewn fabric lining that holds an interlining for lasting shape and smoothness.

Fabric patterns are carefully matched, from inside back to cushion top and boxing, to the skirt or base border.

THE INSIDE BACK Woven polypropylene is firmly attached to the back frame to support the inside back materials.

Light weight coil springs are placed in muslin pockets, then stapled together to form a superb back support.

...a true one-of-a-kind "Luxury Ride" In a traditional 8-way hand-tied spring up, the coil springs are supported by a solid polypropylene deck with steel bands running from front to back underneath each row of coils. In this scenario the polypropylene deck is designed to alleviate flex allowing the seat cushion and springs to do the work.

The Pearson Collection uses exclusive Salem Rods® construction for the coil spring deck. Instead of using the traditional steel bands underneath the deck that create a firmer foundation, we use Salem Rods® between each row of coils. The Salem Rods® are attached to the front and back rails and incorporate an additional spring to allow for extra movement. This unique construction allows the decking to give ever so slightly. This allows the seat cushion, the coil springs AND the Salem Rods® to work in tandem creating a true one-of-a-kind "Luxury Ride". This construction is available on other Hickory Chair pieces as a special construction.
