MADDI CURLESS INTERIOR DESIGN IS MY PASSION. As I step into a new chapter of my journey, I am seeking a full-time position where I can continue to grow and apply the skills I’ve developed throughout my studies and professional experience. Having completed two internships, I’ve gained invaluable real-world insight into the design process and the impact thoughtful design can have on people and spaces. I am currently finishing my final year in Ball State University’s Interior Design program, with minors in Construction Management and Design Technology. I’ve known Interior design to be my calling since middle school, and my passion for creativity has only deepened over the years. Shaped by artistic experiences, I continually seek innovative ways to express my vision and bring it to life. I’m eager to continue to contribute to a field where design can positively affect others as we create spaces that are both functional and imaginative. Through this portfolio, I hope my love for design and dedication to excellence shine through.

ACADEMY OF MODEL AERONAUTICS - MUNCIE, IN - SPRING 2024 (SOPHOMORE YEAR)
The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) Headquarters, located in Muncie, IN, required a comprehensive design solution for a full office remodel. The new design emphasizes privacy, resource management, and efficient circulation through the inclusion of designated quiet areas, expanded storage, acoustic enhancements, and intuitive wayfinding. Together, these elements strengthen AMA’s workplace culture while providing staff with both private and collaborative spaces. (This project was recognized as best in class by the client. It was also selected for publication in a book authored by two of Ball State’s Interior Design professors.)

KEY THEMES
HISTORIC HARMONY - TIMELESS ELEGANCE - COMMUNITY CONNECTION A hospitality house provides a welcoming, home-like space for families who have loved ones receiving care in the hospital. The Kitselman Center offers comfortable accommodations and shared gathering areas that support rest, connection, and relief during emotionally challenging times, creating a calm and supportive environment just minutes away from their loved ones receiving medical care.
LOGO DEVELOPMENT The Kitselman Hospitality house logo was developed to encompass the common hospital “cross” symbol along with an abstract figure in a bed to represent the combination of “hospitality” and “hospital”.
