I was born and raised in Amman, Jordan. I graduated from the University of Jordan with Bachelors of Architectural Engineering in 2012. After a couple of years working on projects across the Middle East region, I moved to New York City to pursue a professional architectural career, guided by my passion for creativity and imagination, I am always trying to redefine how people interact with the built environment. Fueled by curiosity I am always trying to improve our social and physical experience in buildings and spaces, utilizing innovation and technology. I try to design high-performing and sustainable buildings that positively impact the people, environment, and communities they serve. I believe design is the evolution of alternatives and solutions, a continuous adaptation and transformation process to push limitations and constraints. An Architect tries to evoke and suppress certain meanings and expressions throughout the process to produce a final product that performs as intended.

2

In November of 2020, I have completed my examination process to become a registered architect and currently waiting on New York State Board approval to finalize my licensure process.

Starting with three schemes for the shell. In the first using shinny highly reflective metal sheets that would merge the building into its surroundings and at the same time still evoking the high-tech image. The second scheme is mimicking the traditional textiles used by the Bedouins who inhabited the area for a long time. Striped with earthy colors.

Information has become a very precious currency in this age but in a very fragile form. hence it should be kept in a safe place away from any form of danger. Just like the old ages when people used to store grains in silos for usage when necessary. That was the starting point in the designing process. Following the traces of history in the region. It is clear how important this place is. The name of the area Al Mafraq means the crossroads, which shows that the flow of information has always run through this place. Beginning with a generic form. And utilizing the maximum space possible to work as an efficient storage facility. A thrown box in the desert and the box needs a shell for extra protection. this shell is developed in few options manipulating different textures and colors to serve the design intent.

The third scheme is using the same local material the Byzantine did centuries ago, sound in the ruin of Umm Al Jimal, Black Basalt stone. It is widespread across the surrounding areas and it is still used in many buildings as well until this day.

II Residence 2013 High-End Residential 9.2M SF Amman, Jordan A high-end private residence that reflects the lifestyle of its owner. Bold, fit, young, and stylish. The strong lines and sharp edges are dominant in the architectural language originating from the site perimeter. The building is organized in three main masses that emerged from the site perimeter, and circulation runs through the cracks between those masses.

Sometimes the inspiration that drives a design is best delivered by expression. It is the idea of architecture as an artwork or a masterpiece. And the tools are the creative use of material and form to convey a feeling that is originated in the soul. That may cause distortion in form or juxtaposition and contrast in material. This choice of design is intentional to transfer an emotional effect in order to evoke a certain mood or impression. No matter what the environment is, it will certainly have an effect. That is the underlying effort that generates something visionary and original.

The materiality of the building reflects the character of Amman by using white stone. Manipulating materials the honed stone with custom chiseled stone. Where the shinny mass of honed stone rests on the rough custom chiseled stone wall. This technique was used to define masses and highlight the obscurity and variety of space behind them. All structural components are made of reinforced concrete in addition to all external walls that are required for the dry cladding method in stone fixation using metal brackets drilled into the concrete.
