INFANTS All patrons must purchase a ticket, including infants. We offer a limited number of free tickets for children (under 12 months old) who are sharing a seat with their carer - these must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.

ACCESS Our building is accessible to wheelchair users and we have a changing places toilet, you can find us on the CPT register. Gender neutral toilet cubicles are available in the Playhouse Foyer. We welcome children and families and are accessible for prams and pushchairs, an unsupervised buggy park is available in the foyer area opposite the bar.

Booster cushions are available on request for the Filmhouse. Mothers are welcome to breastfeed anywhere, and we have baby changing facilities in both the men’s and women’s toilets in the main foyer.

PARKING AND DROP OFF There are additional blue badge car parking spaces available outside of our new entrance with an easy to access ramp right to our front door.

This is also where you can drop off.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT – BUS HUB The bus hub on campus is located by the Stirling Court Hotel. There are regular buses to and from the campus bus hub and a number that drop off on Hillfoots Road at the back of the university.

DEVELOPING THEATRE This Spring, Macrobert is partnering with Red Squash Theatre to develop Holly McFarlane’s play Stuffed.

Stuffed is a comedy drama about infertility, inspired by co-creator Lucy Joy Russell’s four unsuccessful rounds of IVF. It lifts the lid on a process that can be tragic, heart-warming and ridiculous - often all at the same time.

As Clackmannanshire’s newest theatre company, Red Squash was founded by Rory Fairbairn and Holly McFarlane to tell funny, entertaining and moving stories that speak to our shared humanity. Working with renowned Scottish playwright Douglas Maxwell as dramaturg, the development of Stuffed is part of Macrobert’s growing plans to create original, high quality Scottish theatre right here in Stirling. ©

THE ARTS IN A CLIMATE CRISIS: A MACROBERT CREATIVE SYMPOSIUM 5 February 2026 This special collaboration with academics and students drawn from across the University of Stirling explores a creative response to the ongoing climate crisis.

A full-day symposium explores the question of what role the arts can play in addressing the crisis and how creativity can be used as a tool for developing an informed response, engaged public debate and ultimately making effective change.
