Spring will soon be sprung, and slowly we’ll all emerge from the deep darkness of winter and into the new … a new season of terrific new work at Macrobert, promising an eclectic mix of theatre, dance, children’s events, comedy, film and classes.
Much of the work here at Macrobert is developed through our many partnerships - from supporting the Scottish touring companies we present on our stages through to our unique collaboration with the University of Stirling’s Art Collection team in creating the Culture on Campus initiative.
You might not know but there is a wealth of cultural opportunities right on your doorstep, and not just inside our Arts Centre but across the entire University of Stirling campus - from parkland sculptures to hidden dance trails, from leading visual arts exhibitions in the Pathfoot Building to Macroberts’ very own bijou gallery, from live performance to blockbuster cinema, artists-in-residence and archival material displays, creativity is at the heart of our vibrant community - and it’s open all year-round.
Macrobert is a theatre of opportunity. Opportunities for artists, audiences and communities to come together. That’s us. We’re about getting more people involved with the arts... and alongside our show and film programme there are many other kinds of opportunities, so:
You’re all invited. By me. To Hubbub.
This March we’re throwing open the doors for a 3-day cultural hoolie, a party (of sorts).
Hubbub: A Macrobert Celebration Fri 14 – Sun 16 Mar.
A full diary of events, many of which are free, will be available online. Save the Date!
I’ll see you there.

Trees are fascinating, unique and sometimes ancient. Many have been growing for longer than we have and been witness to events that we have only read about. TreeLink Stirling ran an art competition and asked people to share their favourite tree from within the Stirling area. The responses have been gathered together to form this display of images and art works. Trees can inspire and be thought provoking. We would love for you to visit the exhibition, enjoy the art works and let us know about Your Favourite Tree.
Create & Converge, a partnership project with Macrobert and Artlink Central, brings together young people and artists, who have experienced mental health challenges. Utilising the arts they explore ways to manage or improve their mental health, codesigning work that will be exhibited at Macrobert.
