Help us spread Christmas panto joy throughout Forth Valley!
Going to the pantomime is a big tradition for many people during the Christmas season. But for lots of families throughout Forth Valley, taking their loved ones to panto is out of reach. We at Macrobert don’t think they should miss out. We raise money during our Christmas season each year to provide free panto tickets to local disadvantaged children and families, creating a magical festive experience for those who would otherwise have missed out.
In 2024 we smashed our target of £9,000, meaning that we could welcome over 400 people to enjoy our pantomime. Since launching our first appeal in 2012, we’ve worked with more than 20 local charities to gift over 4,000 panto tickets. That’s all thanks to the unbelievably generous support from people who have donated.
This year, you can help to make someone’s Christmas special and bring some festive magic to vulnerable families in our community. We appreciate any amount that you can give. We would also encourage you to donate via one of our Supporter Packages, to receive benefits such as tickets to opening night, a thank-you in our programme, and even a backstage tour!
“It was really good to get out, I love panto and wouldn’t get the opportunity to see one if I wasn’t gifted one of those tickets - it’s very much appreciated”

Blinded by the Light weaves together two gripping, intersecting tales. One takes us back to 1982 in Bo’ness, West Lothian, where twelve miners stage a daring sit-in 2,000 feet underground, fighting against a devastating mine closure. The other story unfolds in a bleak future, where the descendants of those miners, survivors of extreme climate change, now live deep within the same mine, enduring a new kind of struggle. At its core, this is a powerful story of survival, of faith tested in the darkest depths, of unbreakable spirits and unyielding endurance. It’s a journey through hardship, growing up, and ultimately discovering the light that shines through even the harshest of circumstances.

OommoO is an Afro-Futuristic, poetic exploration of the immigrant experience, viewed through an East African lens. The story follows a first-generation immigrant navigating the duality of her Habesha (Eritrean/Ethiopian) heritage and British identity.
Using cutting-edge tools like the MiMu gloves, a midi gestural controller, OommoO blends language, customs, visuals, music, and sound to transport audiences to another world. This one-woman modular theatre series delves into the effects of memory loss within a displaced community across generations. The pilot episode examines what happens when you leave everything behind for a better future, only to find that “better” isn’t what you expected. As memory fades, what remains?
OommoO is neither a musical, drama, nor gig theatre; it’s a bold new form of storytelling that pushes boundaries.
