Local jobs boom on $200m build MACKAY residents are set to enjoy an employment boom next year when up to $200 million in new waterfront inner-city construction takes place. Leading Queensland property developer, the Sentinel Property Group and Mackay property developers, Sean Kelly and Craig Pervical’s ReNew Mackay group have two very large riverside and esplanade redevelopment projects along the banks of the Pioneer River. ReNew Mackay principal, Sean Kelly could not have been more supportive of local employment and business opportunities. “ReNew Mackay will employ a workforce of up to 3,000 people, depending on staging with locals given priority,” Mr Kelly explained. “In addition, ongoing jobs have been estimated at 700 to 800. “As far as construction value is concerned, figures of $150 million to $200 million has been mentioned as being the amount of investment

An artist’s impression of the proposed $200m development in Mackay required both public and private for Mackay’s Priority Development Area. If this is to be done properly, which is our intention, I would say $150 million to $200 Million in new investment in Mackay’s central business district.” Sentinel Chairman and Chief Investment Officer, Warren Ebert, is equally supportive of local employ-
ment in Mackay. “Sentinel has no intension of using outside contractors,” Mr Ebert announced. “We have done very well by using Mackay consultants and contractors who have completed work on time and on budget. “Sentinel has found a number of
qualified builders in Mackay. “For the past 15-years Sentinel has used the Mackay building company Woollam Constructions and together we have just completed a medium development at 450 Gateway, near Mackay Airport.” MORE RELATED STORIES ON PAGE TWO
