






ARLINGTON, Va.(AFNS)—SecretaryoftheAir Force Frank KendallsignedaproclamationreaffirmingtheDepartmentoftheAir Force’s commitmenttopreventingsexualassaultandsexualharassment,as wellassupportingsexualassaultsurvivorsduringaceremonyatthe Pentagon,April27.
Inconjunctionwiththeproclamation,healsoannouncedanewprovisiontotheDepartment’sleavepolicythatenablessexualassaultsurvivorstotakeupto30daysofnon-chargeableleaveastheyseekresourcestosupporttheirrecovery.
“ThereisnohigherprioritythantakingcareofourAirmen,Guardiansandtheirfamilies,” Kendallsaid. “April’sobservanceofSexualAssault AwarenessandPreventionMonthoffersanopportunitytotake stockofoureffortsandrecommitourselvestoendingsexualviolence andsupportingsurvivors Ourcorevaluesrequireit,andwehaveto stayfocusedonthistopicyear-roundtomeettheobligationsweshare withthosewhomweservealongside.”
TheDepartment’syear-roundeffortsincludeimplementingFY22NationalDefenseAuthorizationActrequirementtoestablishanindependentOfficeofSpecialTrialCounseltooverseetheinvestigationand prosecutionofsexualassaultandothervictim-basedoffenses.Additionally, Departmentexpertsarefocusedonresearch-informedprevention strategiesandensuringcomprehensivesupportforsurvivors.

Oncethecableisengagedbyanaircraft,the6thCES FireandRescueAirmenrespondtotheaircrafttoensureit issafe. It isthenhandedovertotransientalertpersonnel,whereitisunhookedfromthecableanditwilleither taxibackorbetowedtoaparkingspot.
Thesuccessfulcompletionofthe BAK12certificationexercisereflectsthe6th ARW’sreadinessandcompliancewith U.S. Air Forcestandards.

ThesamewillbetrueinAustralia.Australianswill gatherasthedawnbreaksthere,” saidHutchings.“New ZealandershavestoodwithAustraliansineverytheatre ofconflictinthe19th,20thand21stCenturies.Neither countryhasfacedanenemywithouttheother.”
Seniorleadersrepresentingpartnernationspresented wreathstocommemoratesacrificesmade, andatwo-minutemomentofsilenceconcludedtheceremony.
“OnthisANZACDay, onthisbase, withourfriendsand allies, itservestoremindusthatnoneofourcountries fightalone,” saidReynolds.
Thecommander’scall washostedoneweekafterMinihanreleased theupdatedAMCstrategy.ThecommanderpreviouslyhostedaROC drillatPhoenix Rally, anAMCtotalforceleadershipsummit,where theteamidentifiedareasforimprovementin“fighttonight”scenarios includingrefinementstopolicyandguidance, educationandtraining, tactics, andmaterialsolutions.
TheROCdrill waspresentedatthecommander’scallbythenewly establishedAMC“FightClub,” across-functionalteamappointedby Gen.Minihantoconductcriticalanalysisofthepacingthreat, close potentialgaps, andposturemobilityairforcestowinunderanyconditions.
“WeconductROCdrillstobetterunderstand,visualize, describe,and directtheoperational-levelproblemsetourmobilityforceswilllikely encounteracrossthecompetitioncontinuum,”saidLt.Col.Brian“Cabby”Thomasson,DeputyDivisionChiefofAMC’s JointExerciseDivision.
Usingiterativejointplanningprocesses, theteamconsistsofsubjectmatterexpertsfromacrossAMC, the618thAirOperationsCenter, 18thAir Force, theUSAFExpeditionaryCenter, andkeypartnersand stakeholdersfromacrosstheIndo-PacificCommandandothermajor commands.
“EachparticipanthadtheirownpieceoftheAMCmissiontoaccomplish,andthisdrillgaveeachagencyadescriptiverepresentationbecauseyoucould walkthemodelandtellthestoryofthetacticaloperatoratthepropertimeandplace,” Thomassonsaid.
AMCAirmenleveragedalargemapproducedbytheNationalGeospatialIntelligenceAgencyand3Dprintedmodelsofthreatsystems andMobilityAir ForcesaircraftprintedbyAMC’sInnovationLabon ScottAir ForceBase.

“Thisisthefirsttimewe’veexecutedaROCdrillofthissizeand scope,” saidCapt.Derrick“Sensei”Do, anAMCplanner.“Thisconceptualplanningsynthesizedstrategicguidancewithadversarycapability andintentusingspecifictimeslicesfromanoperationplanexecution.”
“Inturn,theAirmenparticipatingfacilitatedadialoguewiththe commander while exposingknown deficienciestotheentirestaff, ultimatelyproposingviableandinitialapproachestonarrowgaps,” Do added.
TheROCdrillalsokickedoffthefirstofseveraldeliberateplanning eventsforMobilityGuardian2023,AMC’sflagshipandmilestonetrainingevent.
“Thisisjustthebeginningofourrelentlessdrivetowardinnovative approachestodemonstratecombatreadinessandlethalitywithinthe [INDOPACOM]theater,” saidLtColCurt“Cinco”Haase, DeputyDivisionChiefofAMCFutureandSensitiveOperationsDivision.
MobilityGuardianisAMC’slargestfull-spectrumreadinessexercise whichincludesscenariosdesignedtoemulatethehighlycontested,degraded,andoperationally-limited environmentsmobility forcesface nowandinpreparationforinthefuture.
AseriesoffutureplanningeventswillprepareAMCforthisservicelevelfieldtrainingexercisewithinINDOPACOMalongsidejoint,coalition,andcommercialpartners.
ThenextMobilityGuardianissettotakeplaceinthesummerof 2023.
