Mass transportation and ride share information
Due to personnel and logistics issues with the provider, mass transportation for Tampa Bay AirFest 2022 will not be authorized for AirFest weekend - March 26-27, 2022. We are also discouraging guests from using ride share services. Given the limited number of entry and exit points to AirFest we have found that ride share services struggle both with drop-off and pick-up of AirFest guests. Tampa Bay AirFest encourages guests to use their own personal transportation and highly encourages guests to carpool. AirFest guests may ride their bicycles to AirFest (helmets must be worn on MacDill Air Force Base & bicycle locks are recommended). Please only ride your bicycles through the MacDill Ave gate.
Located at MacDill AFB
Vehicles coming from South Tampa and areas East of Tampa should utilize the Dale Mabry and MacDill Ave Gates.
Vehicles coming from areas West of Tampa should utilize S Westshore Blvd to Interbay to enter the Tanker Way Gate (just East of Manhattan Ave).
DoD ID Cardholders should utilize the Bayshore Gate Only.

MacDill is a nodrone Zone
AirFest is a no-drone zone.
During AirFest, it is imperative that no drone activity occur within a 5 nautical mile radius of MacDill Air Force Base (over land and water) per FAA Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR). Aircraft will be operating at a high rate of speed and impact with a drone could be catastrophic. This requirement will be strictly enforced by law enforcement and through the use of detection/counter-drone technology. Penalties for violating these restrictions include fines of up to $250,000.
