






WASHINGTON(AFNS)—Astheservicecontinuestorefinewhatis neededtodeveloptheAirmenrequiredtofightandwinourfuture wars, Air ForceofficialsannouncedtheimplementationoftheEnlisted Force DevelopmentActionPlan,locatedhere.
Withagoaltocomplete28forcedevelopmentobjectivesinthenext twoyears, theplanandacorresponding“BlueprintforEnlisted Force Development,”releasinginthespring, isalignedwiththeAir Force chiefofstaff’s actionordersandisfocusedoninvestinginandempoweringAirmenforthefuturefight.
“Thefightfortomorrowhasalreadybegunanditwillundoubtedly befoughtbymanyAirmenwhoareservingtoday,” saidAir ForceChief ofStaffGen.CQBrown,Jr.“Aswecontinuetofocusonourreadiness againststrategiccompetitors, specificallyChinaandRussia,ourAirmenwillneedtobepreparedtodefeatthespeedandcomplexityof threatswefacearoundtheglobeeachday. Thisplanisdesignedtodo justthat.”
Deliberatedevelopmentoftheenlistedforce, whichrepresentsover 75%oftheAir Force’smilitarypersonnel,meansacultureofteamwork thatintegrateseveryone’sdiverseabilities, talents, andideasisessentialtomaximizeanddelivermeaningfulresults.
“Anenvironmentfocusedondevelopingandmanagingthetalentsof ourAirmeniskeyfortheirabilitytothriveandreachtheirfullpotential,” saidChiefMasterSgt.oftheAir Force JoAnne S. Bass.“Deliberate developmentoftheenlistedforceisamissionimperativeandmustbea toppriorityforanyonewhoisexpectedtolead–fromfront-linesupervisorstocommanders.”
Soontoaccompanytheplanis“TheBlueprintforEnlisted ForceDevelopment.”Thisdocumentwillserveasalivingfoundationalresource thatlinksallenlisteddevelopmentfromentrytodeparture, including keyconceptstoconnectenlistedAirmentotheProfessionofArms.
“TheblueprintservesasafocalpointtocreateasharedunderstandingofourAir Forcejourney,” Basssaid.“ThiswillprovideeveryAirman aroadmapthathighlightspathways, resourcesandopportunitiestobe successful.”
Thepremiseoftheactionplaniscenteredonsixareasthatalign withAir ForceprioritiesandtheCSAFActionOrders, withquarterly reportcardstotheforceforaccountabilityandtransparencyonupdates andprogressoneacharea.
SupportingActionOrdersAirmenandCompetition,thisareaconsists ofobjectivestiedtodevelopingahighlytrained,educatedandadaptableAirmanreadytooperateinajointenvironmentandtodominate thecompetition.

“WhatIammostexcitedaboutishavingaspacemyAirmencangoifand whenneeded,” Rodriguezsaid.“Getting away for20minutescanmakea hugedifferenceinone’sresiliency, especiallywhenfacingastressfulmoment orevent.Ihavebeeninthemaintenancefieldforover14yearsandIhave notseenthistypeofeffortputinforindividual’smentalhealth.Allofthe initiativesthathavebeenstartedherearegame changersforourmaintainersandI’msuperexcitedtowitnesstheculture changewehaveexperienced inthelastyear.”
The6thMXGand6thMDGcollaboratedonthisprojectbecauseofthe valuetheroomwillbringtoAirmenandultimatelythemissionofthe6th AirRefueling Wing.
“AfteracquiringtheDefenseOrganizationalClimateSurveyresultsin 2020and2021,themainissueswerealizedwefacedasAirmenweredaily workandlifestressors,” Rodriguezsaid.“Thenextstep waslookingatwhat wecandoasleaderstofacethatissueandtrytomakeadifference. Bycombiningforceswith6thMDGandourleadershereat6thMXG it wasano brainertotryandrelievethatstresshereatthesource.WeknewandunderstoodthatourmissioncapabilitieswouldgrowbymakingourAirmen’s resiliencyapriority.”
Rodriguezsaidthatthe6thMXGistheonlymaintenancegroupintheAir ForcethathasaspaceforAirmentoresetliketheR&Rroom.Shehopesthe ideacatchesonwithotherunits.
Separatingpersonalmattersfromaworkenvironmentcanbedifficultfor membersattimes, especiallywhenfacinghardships.TheR&Rroomcanbe utilizedbymaintainerswhoneedaspacetogetawayordecompress.

AirmenatAliAlSalemAirBase, Kuwait,havecontinuedthisongoingefforttoprotectanddefendtheinstallationfrom UASthreats.
