REPORT CHAIRMAN’S
The 2024 season was a landmark year for Macarthur football, marked by significant achievements and growth across various clubs and competitions.
Our local competitions, including MiniRoos, Youth, and numerous all-age men's and women's competitions, have become increasingly competitive in 2024. The continued growth of these competitions has contributed to the overall strength and vibrancy of Macarthur football.
The M-League Men's and Women's competitions remain one of the showpiece competitions in NSW, providing exciting matches and showcasing the talent of local players. The South West Sydney Super League competitions have also been successful in allowing players to showcase their skills and compete against teams from the broader South West catchment area.
The MSAP Program continues to be a valuable pathway for young aspiring players in Macarthur, providing them with opportunities to develop their skills and compete at a high level.
The 2024 season also saw increased community engagement from Macarthur football clubs, with many participating in local events and initiatives. This helped to strengthen the connection between the clubs and the wider community.
Several clubs implemented successful youth programs, providing opportunities for young players to learn and develop their skills.
Some clubs made significant improvements to their facilities during the 2024 season, enhancing the playing experience for players and spectators.
I would like to acknowledge the recent departure of our outgoing and retiring MFA Chairman, Mr. Darcy Lound. Darcy's leadership and commitment to the MFA over the past nine years have been invaluable. His resilience has helped shape our sport and football association into the successful leading sport in Macarthur. The association thanks him for his service and wish him all the best in his future endeavours as Mayor of the City of Campbelltown, I look forward to continuing to work with Darcy for the good of Macarthur in his new role.
I would like to thank and acknowledge the grateful ongoing support from our sponsorship partners for season 2024. We thank our Major Sponsor and M- League Partner, Wests Group Macarthur, we thank their Chairman Alan Buxton and his Board for their continued support for football in Macarthur. We extend our sincere gratitude to the supportive Macarthur Referees Association, led by Derek Meechan and his dedicated committee. Their tireless efforts and commitment to officiating our matches are invaluable to the success of our local football scene. A big thank you to all the committed referees and game leaders who turn up each weekend to ensure fair play and a positive experience for all participants.
Congratulations to the Macarthur Rams FC and their Chairman, Michael Guisti, on another successful NPL season. The Macarthur Rams Committees and their Head of Football, Paul Cotte, have continued to foster an elite football pathway for aspiring local players. A massive congratulations to the Rams 1st Grade Women's team for their exceptional achievement of defending and winning the NPL Women's competition for the third consecutive year. This team's dominance in both the Premiership and Grand Final is a testament to their skill, dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence. We would also like to acknowledge the Camden Tigers NPL club for their outstanding season and continued growth. Their ongoing improvement and commitment have provided local players with more opportunities to play at the NPL level in Macarthur. The Tigers' continued development will undoubtedly contribute to the nurturing of talented young footballers in our region.
Our relationship and partnership with Macarthur Bulls FC continues to strengthen. Their commitment to football in Macarthur on the A-League stage demonstrates the strength and vitality of our game. We congratulate the entire Macarthur Bulls staff and their players on their recent win of the prestigious Australia Cup and wish them all the best in the 2024/25 A-League season. We look forward to seeing them soon at Campbelltown Stadium.
Furthermore, we would like to express our gratitude to the dedicated staff of the MFA, including General Manager Paul Bertolissio, Competitions Manager Steve Carroll, Community Football Manager Kevin Guardado Amaya, Competition Services Officer Jenny Mazuran, and Marketing and Media Coordinator Mikayla King. Their continued efforts and selfless dedication have been instrumental in the MFA's success. Their hard work and commitment have contributed significantly to the growth and development of Macarthur football.
Another big shout out to Eschol Park FC and Harrington United for their successful charity weekends, raising valuable funds for Breast and Prostate Cancer charities. Their dedication to giving back to the community is commendable.
We express our gratitude to our three supportive Council LGAs, their Mayors, and Council staff for their ongoing support of the MFA and our Member Clubs. Their contributions are instrumental in creating a thriving football environment in Macarthur.
I want to sincerely thank and acknowledge on behalf of myself and our MFA Board of Directors:
• All of our MFA Club Presidents, their committees and their entire club Volunteers for their time and effort throughout season 2024. You are the backbone of our sport.
• The many Players, Coaches, Team Managers and all their Partners, Families and many Supporters.
• The Competition Management Committee members, Peter Ellington and his Judiciary Committee members, Renee Debenedetti and her Special Purpose Committee members plus Michael Gowing and his Appeals Committee members.
• Congratulations to all our team Premiers and Champions for their success winning their respective MFA competitions.
As we look ahead to the 2025 season, Macarthur football is well-positioned for continued growth and success. The strong foundation laid in 2024 provides a promising platform for future development. Lastly, I would like to again thank everyone involved within Football in Macarthur. Your dedication, commitment, support, and passion for football make our game so successful. Please enjoy the off-season, and we look forward to seeing you all again in season 2025.

REPORT GENERAL MANAGER’S
Participation Numbers increased again in 2024
I am honoured to be appointed as General Manager of Macarthur Football Association, serving the community for my first full season. This time has allowed me to review all competitions and programs run by our MFA and look to implement strategic change where needed to ensure we have the best association in NSW and beyond.
This year we saw our 24 clubs with 12,513 players compete in 118 competitions showing the strength of the Macarthur football community. Our committed volunteers make all of this possible through the great work they do within our clubs.
As I reflect upon the 2024 season , there are many highlights to acknowledge and celebrate:
Another successful Women’s M-League competition, in partnership with Southern Districts Soccer Football Association, saw 2 MFA teams qualify for the Grand Final, big congratulations to Narellan on winning the double Premiers and Champions.
The introduction of MOJO Sports coaching app for our U6 and 7s Miniroos grassroots coaches is an initiative to help support local coaches and raise coaching standards.
The success of the Macarthur ‘MSAP’ League continued with more teams participating in this development program in 2024
Record Numbers in ADP with over 361 participants
The Macarthur Rams Academy, our new pathway program, created better opportunities in NPL programs for young aspiring players.
Our Holiday Programs with clinics, gala days and the inaugural Macarthur Cup Series.
The success of our joint competition with SDSFA, the Super League Competition allowed all our division teams to test themselves against the best teams in the South West.
Champion of Champions success, seeing our Eschol Park U15/1’s crowned Champions in 2024
The upgrade of Lynwood Park, work will commence shortly on the synthetic pitch at Lynwood Park, due for completion expected at the end of January 2025.
The 60th Anniversary of two of our clubs Ingleburn Eagles SC and Campbelltown Cobras SC Macarthur Rams Women FC won the double in 2024, taking out the premiership and champions trophy this season and winning the Wests Sports Council Elite Team of the Year.
All our local councils, Camden, Campbelltown and Wollondilly, supported the association in fostering talent, through the investment in local facilities.
The Association and local club sponsors. We cannot thank you enough for your continued support of our game and the community.
To our Macarthur District Football Referees Association for supporting our association and clubs, we thank you
To the many volunteers who support the running of the MFA on various committees. There are no words that can express the gratitude and respect we have for you. Thank you for giving so much of yourselves and time to the game.
I would like to personally thank the MFA Board of Directors for their support throughout the year. It’s an honour and pleasure to work with such a passionate group of people who give up many hours to ensure the success of football in Macarthur.
Finally, to my team at the MFA office. Your hard work and determination have helped create the culture for change in 2024 and I look forward to an even better 2025 helping deliver an even better football experience for all our member clubs.

Rob Milne gave an overview of the report.
ESC – Do we get charged our registrations from the data on this back page?
No, FNSW send a registration report.
ESC – There is an increased expenditure in events, is this due to an increase in prices at venues?
There are a variety of expenses involved.
ESC – The team photography and media services is a huge increase, can you explain this?
Screening matches was a positive that we were keen on providing. This has been identified by the Board and will be reviewed with the new GM.
ESC – Will the clubs be asked to approve the $80K contribution to the Rams? This was in the budget provided to the clubs at the September Clubs meeting.
Darcy added that it is a fine line with events, the Board wants to bring clubs together and keep a sense of community but needs to keep an eye on costs.
Darcy input that the Rams grant has been $80K for a number of years (no increase). They are our investment in Representative Football, where most members come from our local clubs and we want to support them. Other Associations have followed our lead and started their own NPL clubs. We are lucky to also have Camden Tigers and MFA AYL and SAP underpinning the Rams opening the Representative availability to more players. If you provide a reason for us to stop this financial support, we will discuss it.
PIC – M League has no prize money for 2022, Did we lose a sponsor? No prize money in the Covid shortened year.
Rob Milne thanked our bookkeeper Rob Laws who goes above and beyond for the Association. Carried

Member for Leppington, MP - Nathan Hagarty
ESC – Raised concerns that the Mayor of Campbelltown, Mr George Griess, is not doing enough to support the clubs and maybe we shouldn’t have him as a Patron.
Darcy declared a conflict of interest and left the room. Peter Kovacsics took the chair.
Further discussion was held with most clubs agreeing that “Council” doesn’t support the clubs and the major problem is lack of communication from council to clubs especially on field maintenance, ground and facility improvements and funding being changed when we think we are about to get something done. A reminder that this patronage is bestowed on the position, e.g. Mayor of Campbelltown; not the person, who may change at the next election (before our AGM).
DECISION – to organise a committee to have a meeting with Mayor, George Griess and discuss our concerns.

COMPETITIONS

By most measures, 2024 was a record breaking year with player numbers, team numbers, allocated matches, competition numbers all exceeding what the MFA has achieved in any year!
RECORD BREAKING YEAR
2024 saw the Macarthur Football Association record records across the following categories:
Player Numbers: Record numbers
A total of 12,513 players registered to play football in 2024. This represented growth of 1,165 players or 10% on the 2023 registrations.
Underpinning this growth was the 993 increase in Mini Roo numbers (+19%) and the moderate 293 player growth in Youth registrations. Both of these segments represented the largest number of participants ever in both categories. For the record, Senior numbers were commensurate with the 2023 total registrations, falling slightly by 58, or a nominal 1.7%.
Female Participation: Record Numbers
Overall female participation saw substantial growth in 2024 with a total of 2,646 female registrations. This was an increase of 20% (+455) on 2023 numbers. Growth was experienced across all three group categories:
Minis Total 1,294 (+ 280)
Youth Total: 757 (+ 78)
Seniors Total: 595 (+ 97)
Team Numbers: Record Numbers
As expected with the increase seen in player numbers, team numbers grew to a total of 1,013 (+ 105 or + 11.6%) – the highest number of teams ever in any one MFA season.
Team growth rates:
Mini: 619 teams in 2024 (+ 88 teams) – the stand-out growth category by far, with the 88-team number increase representing a growth of 16.5%.
Youth: 195 teams in 2024 (+ 16 teams)
Senior: 199 teams in 2024 (+1 team)
Female-only teams represented 19% of total teams which was up from the 16% in 2023.
Competitions: Record Numbers
There were 118 competitions provided in 2024 – a growth of 8% over 2023 and the largest number of competitions offered in the MFA. Female-only competitions accounted for 25 of the total , representing 21% (+5%)
Matches: Record Numbers
All age-scheduled matches in 2024 = 2,318
Scheduled Youth matches in 2024 = 2,255
MiniRoos scheduled matches in 2024 = 5,714
Total matches scheduled in 2024 = 10,287
THE SEASON
2024 was a difficult year with rain-creating issues for scheduling at various points during the season, however, despite this, we were able to reschedule all but two rounds (several competitions only lost one round of football after rescheduling), which took a lot of work, and did create issues for clubs having to take on additional matches, but together we delivered and provided as many matches as was feasible during the year. Extending the season by a week also helped, but again, the Clubs
agreeing with the rescheduling ultimately allowed us to provide the games we did thereby minimizing the amount of “lost” rounds/matches.
The season presented many highlights culminating in a highly successful Grand Final series. We thank Narellan for hosting at Nott Oval and Campbelltown Uniting Church for hosting at Lynwood – positive feedback was received regarding both venues which is a high praise for all the efforts put in by the committees and volunteers at those Clubs. The Division 1, M-League and Women’s M-League Grand Finals were played at Lynwood Stadium in a great atmosphere and were well-attended matches. The Gala Days for our minis were held across eight venues and we thank Oran Park, Ingleburn, Glenfield, Harrington United, Camden Tigers, Camden Falcons, St Mary’s Eagle Vale and Bradbury (who hosted all the girls’ Gala Days) for taking on the difficult hosting challenges. Additionally, the MSAP teams played their final round at Lynwood. Big crowds, many matches and many happy participants were the results at each of the Gala days, so again a big thank you to the host Clubs and to every club in supporting these end-of-season days for our mini teams.
Continuing with our thanks, a big thank you is extended to our hardworking volunteers (Board and CMC), plus staff, who assisted at each of the Grand Final venues, and across the Gala Day weekends.
M-LEAGUE:
The M-League competitions again proved very competitive with this evident in the Grand Finals which saw no Premiers being able to secure the Premiership/Grand Final double, and four different clubs qualifying for the Grand Final in the ML1 and MLR competitions.
The premiers in the ML1, the Gunners, were upset in the Grand Final by Narellan, whilst Camden Tigers, who upset the MLR Premiers Narellan in the qualifying final, were themselves beaten in the MLR Grand Final by the Mt Annan team.
Mt Annan Colts finished the season proper as Premiers, however, were unable to win the “double”, ultimately going down to the second-placed Narellan in the Grand Final. In the Women's M-League, a tightly contested competition was ultimately decided by a head-to-head countback decision to determine the Premiers between Narellan and Oran Park, who both finished the home and away series on equal competition points. It was therefore appropriate that both these teams played in a tight grand final that went down to the “wire” with Narellan hanging on to claim the Grand Final, thereby becoming the only M-League team to win both the Championship and the Premiership titles.
SUPER LEAGUE:
The jointly managed MFA/SDSFA Super League competitions expanded in 2024 to include the U17 age group.
Whilst the MFA teams did not “scoop the pool” as they did in the Super League’s inaugural 2023 season did have some very pleasing results.
The Eschol Park U15s team won both the Premiership and Championship, whilst Cobras won the Premiership in the U17s and Camden Falcons winning the Championship in the same age group. Best ranked MFA teams in the other two age groups were Camden Tigers (4th) in the U14s and Eschol Park (3rd) in the U16s – in themselves great results considering they were playing the best teams across two districts.
MSAP:
Continues to grow, with 12 teams represented in each of the age categories in 2024. This development program for our mini age groups is proving very successful and we are excited that U10 Girls will be added in 2025.
TOURNAMENTS:
MFA teams were well represented across many tournaments in 2024, including, but not exhaustive, such as the State Cup, Kanga Cup and Champion of Champions.
Eschol Park did exceptionally well in the Kanga Cup reaching the U15G Plate Final, whilst in the State Cup, Narellan AAM and U21M reached Round 4, Oran Park U13M reached Round 5, Mt Annan U21M exiting in Round 4 – very pleasing results.
The Champion of Champions saw a significant result with Eschol Park U15B winning the tournament in a great achievement for the club and the Association and our congratulations extend to the team and their coaching staff on this great result.
THANK YOU
In closing, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Board of the MFA, the MFA General Manager, and the entire MFA staff. I also extend my appreciation to the dedicated members of the Competitions Management Committee for their steadfast support throughout the season. Last but not least, I thank all MFA member clubs and the volunteers within each club for their support, understanding, and commitment to the MFA and the game of football as a whole. The game would not thrive without the invaluable contributions and dedication of all these individuals!

COACH & PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

As we conclude the 2024 season, it's clear that the ongoing growth of football across the Macarthur region is not only continuing but thriving. Our strategic focus on coach and player development has resulted in tangible improvements in participation and quality across all levels of the game. It has been a year of new challenges, exciting growth, and significant achievements that have set the foundation for continued
COACH EDUCATION COURSES AND WORKSHOPS
This year saw the introduction of Football Australia's revamped national coaching curriculum, which presented new challenges, particularly with the removal of the Skill Training and Game Training Certificates. However, we took the initiative to ensure our coaches still had access to vital coaching knowledge through Junior and 11-a-side Coaching Workshops, while raising awareness of the new Foundation of Football (FOF) course.
In 2024, we delivered five Foundation of Football courses, with 84 registered participants, and six MiniRoos Certificates, attracting 74 participants. Our one Foundation of Goalkeeping (FOG) course had six attendees. Additionally, three MFA-run workshops and one FNSW CPD workshop saw a total of 77 coaches gain free professional development opportunities, with CPD hours contributing to their ongoing coach licencing.
Rod Henderson's transition into a Football Australia CET has been invaluable, allowing us to offer more direct, high-quality coaching courses locally. His passion for nurturing coaches has already started to make a measurable impact on our local coaching landscape, and he will continue this vital work heading into 2025.
This year also broke records with four C Diploma courses delivered, including the first-ever FemaleOnly course, scheduled for February 2025. 57 coaches have already completed their C Diplomas this year, with another 48 potentially set to qualify in early 2025.
In digital coach education, we maintained our partnerships with Sport Session Planner and Coaches Voice to support coach and player development. A new trial initiative with MOJO saw 2,118 users onboarded from U6-U7 teams, providing grassroots coaches with digital education resources at their fingertips. These digital initiatives not only streamline access to vital resources for coaches but also make professional-level education available to grassroots coaches.
ASSOCIATION DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (ADP)
The ADP continues to be the backbone of player development in Macarthur. Its role in transitioning players to elite levels, such as Macarthur Rams Academy and SAP, has been critical in ensuring longterm pathways for our talented youth. In 2024, the program thrived, with 234 participants across Belgenny, Lynwood, and Nugget Beames in the winter program, including 30 girls participating in the Girls Development Program at Lynwood. The summer ADP has seen strong growth as well, with 127 participants as of October 2024. Feedback from parents has been overwhelmingly positive, and many players have progressed to higher levels, including Macarthur Rams Academy, M-SAP, and Division 1 teams.
MACARTHUR RAMS ACADEMY
The Macarthur Rams Academy has quickly become a key player in bridging the gap between grassroots football and representative teams, offering players the platform they need to refine their skills and compete at higher levels. This new program, which provides a more intense training environment for intermediate to advanced players, has seen great success since its launch. Term 3 had 86 participants, including 24 girls, while Term 4 has grown to 100 participants across Lynwood Park and Nugget Beames Reserve, with 20 girls involved. Several players have already progressed to representative teams, further validating the impact of this initiative.
HOLIDAY CLINICS
Our winter and spring school holiday clinics were also well-received, with 150 participants across Macarthur FA Community, Goalkeeper, and Rams Academy Holiday Clinics at Lynwood Park and Nott Oval. These clinics provided young players with the opportunity to sharpen their skills and engage in a fun, supportive environment.
M-SAP
The M-SAP Leagues continued to expand in their fourth season, featuring 12-team competitions across U8-U11. The success of the M-SAP Leagues is reflected in the high percentage of U9 Rams and MFA SAP players who have come through the program, as well as the retention of M-SAP coaches across multiple seasons. Pre-season workshops have set positive behavioural expectations, and a new licencing application system has been introduced to further raise standards for 2025. The introduction of the new licensing framework is a critical step in our long-term vision for the M-SAP Leagues. It will ensure that we maintain the highest standards in coach and player development, and provides a clearer roadmap for the growth and sustainability of the program moving forward.
MINIROOS WINTER HOLIDAYS GALA DAYS
For the third consecutive year, Lynwood Park hosted the July Gala Days, with over 120 teams and approximately 1,000 children enjoying free football in the middle of the season. These Gala Days have become an annual highlight, not just for the players, but for families and volunteers. They showcase the community spirit that makes Macarthur Football unique, offering a day of fun and friendly competition.
MACARTHUR CUP SERIES
The 2024 Macarthur Cup Series showcased competitive football across several tournaments, with standout moments such as Oran Park Rovers’ penalty shootout victory in the U8 Mixed Tournament, D10S Football Academy’s dominance in the U9 and U11 Mixed tournaments, and a thrilling all-Macarthur Rams final in the U11 Girls competition.
COMMUNITY INITIATIVES AND MFA COMMUNITY COACHING TEAM
Our commitment to community development extended beyond the pitch in 2024, with programs like the Girls Love Football initiative at St Pats Girls College, outreach program at Reiby Youth Justice Centre, and the free Come and Try GSAP sessions in collaboration with Macarthur Rams. These initiatives have helped us engage with a broader audience and support the development of female football in the region. In fact, 13 girls who participated in our development programs this year have successfully made it into the Macarthur Rams U10 GSAP team.
A particular highlight of 2024 has been the growth and development of our MFA Community Coaching Team, who have delivered quality programs and represented Macarthur FA at the highest level in every initiative. Their dedication and hard work continue to elevate the football experience for players, coaches and parents alike.
Looking ahead to 2025, I am excited to continue working alongside our clubs, coaches, and volunteers to build on the successes of this season. Together, we are creating a stronger, more inclusive football culture in Macarthur, and I’m confident that next year will bring even greater achievements.
MARKETING

2024 was a year of growth for the Macarthur Football Association. Our marketing efforts, including the introduction of Mac the Ram and expanded coverage across all ages, led to increased engagement and a stronger connection with our community. Social media reach grew significantly, demonstrating the positive impact of our initiatives.
Mac the Ram
This year, we introduced our new mascot, Mac the Ram, through a naming competition supported by Alpha Elite. The mascot has provided a stronger sense of identity and a friendly face for our young members to connect with the association. While Mac was initially introduced digitally, we're excited to have a physical mascot suit ready for the start of the 2025 season.

Around the Grounds
MFA Media enhanced our traditional 'Around the Grounds' visits with several new additions. During each club visit, we distributed 'MiniRoos Showbags' filled with goodies from MFA partners and an activity book featuring Mac. We also updated our video coverage, creating a new segment called 'Teams of the Week' to showcase junior teams nominated by their clubs. This segment proved valuable for older players, as previous media coverage primarily focused on MiniRoos. The popularity of 'Teams of the Week' is evident in its three out of five top YouTube content spots for the year. We continued the popular 'MiniRoos Team Talk' segment and increased photography coverage at each visit. We extend our gratitude to the photography team led by Jill Bennett for their exceptional work throughout the year.

Improved M-League Coverage
At the beginning of the season, we developed a brand kit for M-League marketing collateral, strengthening the competition's connection to our association. This included media nights for all M-League clubs and continued livestream coverage through Jum Media. The photography team also captured images from each live-streamed game. Our partnership with Wests Group Macarthur allowed us to award a 'Match Moment' voucher at each live-streamed game, redeemable at their venues.

MACARTHUR RAMS SAP AND AYL PROGRAM CAMDEN
TIGERS FC

ASSOCIATION SAP & AYL REPORT
SAP (SKILLS ACQUISITION PROGRAM)
The 2024 season marked a period of exceptional growth and development for our SAP program. Under the guidance of our dedicated coaching staff, young players showcased remarkable improvement in their technical skills, tactical awareness, and overall game intelligence. The program's emphasis on creating a positive and supportive environment fostered a strong sense of camaraderie among participants, encouraging them to reach their full potential.
One of the most significant highlights of the season was the promotion of our U10s coach, Sienna Hart, to the Rams GSAP team. This achievement is a testament to the program's effectiveness in developing talented young coaches and providing them with opportunities to advance their careers.
The JDL experience proved invaluable in identifying areas for improvement and providing our players with exposure to high-level competition. The insights gained from these matches allowed us to refine our training methodologies and ensure our players were well-prepared to compete against top-tier opponents.
As our players and coaches transition to the NPL space, we are confident they possess the skills, knowledge, and mindset necessary to succeed at the highest level. The future of MFA and the Macarthur region looks incredibly bright, thanks to the strong foundation provided by our SAP program.
AYL (ASSOCIATION YOUTH LEAGUE)
Despite a slow start to the season, the AYL program experienced a remarkable turnaround as the year progressed. Through consistent hard work, dedication, and a commitment to improvement, our players and coaches demonstrated exceptional resilience and determination. The program's focus on player development and enjoyment created a positive and engaging environment, fostering a love of the game among participants.
The highlight of the season was undoubtedly the performance of our U13s team, who reached the semi-finals against Hills Football. This achievement showcased the exceptional talent and dedication within our program, as well as the effectiveness of our coaching staff in developing competitive teams.
The success of our AYL program is evident in the increasing number of players transitioning to the NPL space. This demonstrates the program's ability to provide young athletes with the necessary skills and opportunities to reach their full potential. As we continue to invest in our AYL program, we are confident that it will remain a vital component of MFA's player development pathway.

MACARTHUR RAMS MENS REPORT
After a successful year with promotion last season, we were aiming to have a competitive year in NPL 2 for 2024. We definitely achieved that and more finishing 1 place from promotion (3rd place) in the Club Championship, achieving a truly remarkable season in this division. 2025 promises to be a great year as we will push for promotion into the top tier of NPL. We had 3 out of 5 teams make finals football with our U16s missing out by 1 point. U13s and U14s were crowned Premiers with the U13s losing in the Grand Final.
Our Mens senior program had a challenging year with results where on any given day they could beat any team in the League 1 competition, unfortunately, lack of consistency resulted in our Mens program falling short in the final standings. We did however play some outstanding football and promoted many young boys into the squad (8 players under 19 years old). Fielding one of the youngest First Grade squads on record. I look forward to seeing these boys perform on the pitch next season as they have a full season under their belts. We will definitely aim to finish higher on the table and continue to promote our young local talent into Senior football.
Our SAP boys had a great season, and the Macarthur Rams are becoming a force to be reckoned with when it comes to our SAP program. We managed to score some great wins against the bigger SAP programs and dominate most of the season. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our local clubs that prepare these young kids and allowing them to flourish into becoming our future.

MACARTHUR RAMS WOMENS REPORT
After the success of 2023, the Womens First Grade had to go and find a new batch of talent to compete in the 2024 season. The season progressed with a very young First Grade squad that kept us in 3rd position and playing great football, towards the end of the season, we went on a winning run securing the premiership against rivals APIA Leichhardt FC at Lambert Park on the last day of the regular season.
Come finals, we beat Sydney Olympic FC in the semi-final held at Lynwood Park where we had a near full house. The Grand Final was played vs APIA at Commbank Stadium in Parramatta where we ended up winning on a penalty shootout after an incredible match that finished 2-2. Macarthur Rams were crowned Champions for 2024 making it 3 years in a row, a great achievement from our ladies.
We have continued with the same philosophy of promoting young talent into the senior squad. In the past 2 years alone, we have 14 ladies with A-League Women contracts plus from our coaching staff, Stephen Peters and Peter Nowakowski were signed as the Head Coach and in an assistant role, respectively, at Perth Glory FC. Also, first-grade player Tegan Bertolissio was selected in the Young Matildas squad for the 2024 Women’s World Cup held in Colombia in September.
Our Youth Women continue to develop as per the clubs' 3-year plan, we will continue to improve the program year after year with the aim of becoming a top 3 Youth program in the State.
Our GSAP program had an outstanding season, we as a club can see the future just by looking at the talent we have coming through the GSAP program. The future looks bright in the Macarthur region and we will continue to grow in years to come.

NPL BOYS
CAMDEN TIGERS NPL REPORT
While we finished 6th in the club championship, the 2024 season was marked by several notable achievements for our NPL Boys program. The U13s boys demonstrated exceptional talent, finishing 2nd in the premiership race and winning the championship, a remarkable accomplishment that showcases their dedication and skill. The U14s boys also performed admirably, securing 2nd place finishes in both the premiership and the championship. Overall, we are pleased with the progress made by our NPL Boys program in 2024. The high retention rate of 80% for 2025 indicates a strong commitment from our players and their families. Moving forward, we are determined to push for a top-2 finish in the club championship and ultimately achieve promotion to League 2.
NPL GIRLS
Our NPL Girls program continues to make strides, with the 2024 season marking its third year. Despite being a relatively young program, we are pleased with the participation and development of our female athletes. The enthusiasm and dedication of our girls are inspiring, and we are eager to see their continued growth in 2025.
NPL MEN
Our NPL Men's teams faced challenges in 2024, with both the First Grade and U20s squads finishing in 9th place. However, the season was not without its highlights, one of the most significant achievements was the opportunity for several of our youth NPL players to make their senior football debuts. This pathway to first-grade football is a testament to the strength of our development program. In 2025, we are excited to see two of our promising youth players sign firstgrade contracts.
NPL WOMEN
Similar to our NPL Men's program, our NPL Women's teams faced challenges in 2024, with both the First Grade and 20s squads finishing in the bottom half of the table. However, a key highlight of the season was the opportunity for our youth players to make their first-grade debuts. This pathway to senior football is a testament to the strength of our women's program and its commitment to developing talented athletes.
Overall, we are satisfied with the direction of our girls and women's programs. The progress made in recent years is encouraging, and we are excited to see what the 2025 season will bring.

AROUND THE GROUNDS

We enjoyed a wonderful year of Magic Soccer in 2024. Our club continues to grow with a high number of returning players combined with many new players signing up – particularly in the juniors age groups. Our total player numbers came in at 140 registered players – another record year. Macarthur Magic continue to deliver one of the largest and best inclusive soccer programs in the country, to the benefit of our Macarthur Region.
We started the year by having to relocate our entire program to Onslow Park in Camden due to grounds works being completed at Magic Park (Nugget Beams Reserve). Pleasingly, it was only for our first three playing weeks, and by the end of April, we were back at Magic Park.
Thanks go to our committed group of volunteers who assisted in moving our training equipment, canteen gear and BBQ twice during this period.
Highlights of our 2024 season included:
21 April - Macarthur Magic were special guests at the Macarthur Bulls vs Sydney FC match at Campbelltown Stadium. Over 30 Magic players got to play a game on the field during half-time, and some of our junior players also walked out of the player's tunnel with the Bulls team before kick-off! It was a great experience for our players.
25 May – We travelled to Penrith to participate in an annual Gala Day hosted by our friends at Nepean Dragons FC, who run an inclusive program like Magic Soccer.
3 August- The Macarthur Bulls joined Magic Soccer for a fantastic morning of inclusive football. The whole playing squad, coaches, and Arthur the Bull were there, and it was a great experience for the Bulls players and our Magic players.
24 August – We celebrated our Player Presentation with a huge function at Wests Leagues Club. We were proud to recognise our:
Magic Players
5 Year Players (13 Players)
10 Year Players & Volunteer (3 Players, 1 Volunteer)
Life Member awards (2 new Life Memberships were awarded) Overall, 2024 was a great season, and we thank our many supporters who made it all possible our dedicated committee members our volunteers who help coach on the field every week our many club sponsors from across the local business community We now look forward to season 2025!

It was another record year for Narellan Rangers fielding 108 teams and over 1300 registered players. It was also a very successful year on the park with the club securing 9 premierships and 8 championships.
At M-League level the club won premierships in Women and Reserve Grades and had grand final success in Firsts Grade, Women’s and Colts. The club was proud to be named M-League Club Champions for 2024.
Our senior men’s teams results included AA2 RED (Premiers & Champions), AA3 Blue (Champions) and AA6 (Premiers & Champions).
Our AAW had particular success with all 3 teams making their respective grand finals: AAW2 (Premiers), AAW3 (GF runner up) and AAW4 (Premiers & Champions).
At junior level our U12B/3 & U16B/3 were Premiers and our 12B/4 were Premiers & Champions.
The club also fielded teams in all ages of the M-SAP League.
We are pleased that female participation at the club continues to grow, with 10 SSG and 5 junior girls’ teams, on top of our 4 ladies’ sides.
The club is hugely thankful for the generous financial support of our many sponsors and for the dedication and hard work of the committee. We would also like to make mention of the staff and volunteers at MFA whose help is invaluable.

Picton Rangers SC
MiniRoos: 23 Teams MSAP: 4 Teams Junior: 10 Teams Senior: 5 Teams
Picton Rangers once again increased their numbers for season 2024 with close to 50 teams and approaching 500 players, with close to 30% female members. Our multi-million-dollar upgrade to Picton Sportsground is on track for completion at the end of the year so it's very exciting times for PRFC. We had 7 teams compete in the finals series this year with our U13/1 Girls going back-to-back premiers whilst our U16/3 won their Grand Final. Our M-SAP program continues to improve each year, and we now have our junior teams providing players to our Football South Coast squads. A big thank you to our tireless committee and volunteers, once again making us the premier family football club in the Wollondilly Shire. Season 2025 looks very promising, and with the club in a strong financial position, we look forward to continued growth and improvement in the years to come.

Ruse Football Club
Ruse FC had a successful 2024 season, both on and off the field. The club secured two significant grants to improve its facilities. The first, through the Women's World Cup Legacy Fund, enabled the rejuvenation of Jackson Park, our home ground. This project has enhanced the playing surface and overall experience for our members and visitors. The second grant, from the office of MP Greg Warren, funded the replacement of the refrigeration system in our canteen, ensuring the comfort and convenience of our supporters.
In addition to these grants, Ruse FC has also been celebrating the achievements of two of its longstanding members. Robyn Carlsen was recently honored with the West Sports Volunteer Award for her 30+ years of service to the club. Anne Brown was also recognized for her dedication to Ruse FC, receiving the Service Award at the club's end-ofseason presentation. These awards highlight the significant contributions that Robyn and Anne have made to the club over the years.

Ruse FC is a thriving club with a bright future. The recent grants and awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the club's members. With the support of the community, Ruse FC is wellpositioned to continue to grow and prosper in the years to come.

St Marys Eaglevale Soccer Club
Saints FC had a successful 2024 season, with club membership growing and female registrations doubling. Highlights included the 2nd Annual Amy Harrison Cup and the addition of new teams to the Seniors division.
The M-League Colts boys, a group of boys who have played at Saints since Under 6s, made their debut this season. They finished inside the top 4 most of the season but narrowly missed the semi-finals. The team was awarded the 'Fair Play Award,' and Jason Brooks was named Coach of the Year.
In the minis and juniors, multiple girls' teams started together for their first-effort seasons. The 13/2 boys, another born and bred Saints team, made their first Semi-Final. In the seniors, AAW2, AAW4, and AA9 all made the Semi-Finals, while AA6 boys made their second straight Grand Final. The AAW3 ladies won the Premiership and became Grand Final Champions.
Saints FC is excited to see continued growth and success in 2025.

Tahmoor Soccer Club

In the first year Tahmoor has provided a full complement of M-League teams, 2024 was a fantastic year for our AAM/11 team who took out the Premiership and the Championship. Spurred on by our mascot Tommy the Taipan, our minis continued to grow, showing fantastic growth and representing our club in both performance and character.

This year was our final year of being present in Wilton, and we look forward to next year when our new fields, car park and clubhouse will all be available for the first time. Look out 2025, the Taipans are coming. Hiss Hiss!

Macarthur District Football Referees Associaton
SSG: 88 Referees Junior: 180 Referees Senior: 122 Referees
On behalf of the Macarthur Referees Association (MDFRA) I would like to thank the MFA and all clubs for their great support throughout another season, I would especially like to thank Paul, Darcy & Peter and the Board for their continuing support of the referees.
This year showed an increase in the number of registrations from last year, which has now surpassed pre-COVID numbers with 122 Seniors, 180 Juniors and 88 SSG referees.
I want to give a special mention to our appointments officer Stephen Whicker who has, once again, done a fantastic job, along with MFA’s Steve Carroll in obtaining a continued high coverage of games with coverage of juniors, seniors and 100% in M-League games. With a high number of SSG games now in Macarthur we will be looking for more young referees to register, we will be running more courses this January & February. I would like to encourage clubs to let us know if any of their members are interested.
This year we were awarded the FNSW O/45 Champion of Champions Grand Finals.
The Association would also like to thank MFA for its grant which was used in the recruitment of new senior & female referees as well as the purchase of banners and A-Frames to promote the association and its “Yellow Armband” program. We hope this initiative can continue into the future. This year we introduced our club delegate program which has been a great success, thanks to Paul Neaves for looking after that and hopefully, it will get bigger and better. To all Clubs, Committees, coaches, managers and players I would like to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a great New Year.
