Foundational work in 21st century information science. Developed a general model of creative adaptive intelligence. Current focus is on developing a machine computable version of the model with an aim of designing a machine intelligence able to ‘invent’.

Reported to CFO. Firm offered a key technology of the Internet explosion, the Ethernet port.

– Asst. Treasurer, SynOptics Communications, March 1989 – Oct. 1990; Santa Clara, CA. Directed all corporate finance, investor relations, and int'l operations oversight for a newly public company. During this period sales grew from $40M to $176M, market capitalization increased from $95M to $680M, and the firm's leading PE ratio rose from 13 to 23. Reported to CFO. Firm produced complex computer networks.

– Mgr. Treasury Operations, The Cooper Companies. July 1986 – Feb. 1989; Palo Alto, CA. Directed the global cash management, operational, and analytical resources for a Treasury Department in a Fortune 500 company ($900M revenue) during a period when a $460M debt restructuring and asset liquidation was managed, involving 11 international banks. Advanced from position of Treasury Analyst. Reported to Treasurer. Firm produced medical products.

– Consultant, self employed. June 1985 – June 1986; Whittier, CA. Developed market strategy and prospect list for sales of industrial robots. Developed first generation financial (derivatives) hedge positions and marketing plan for builders, mortgage bankers, and savings and loans.

– Systems Analyst, AT&T. July 1981 – Oct. 1983; San Jose, CA Technical support and operations for Pacific Bell's west coast datacenter. Oversaw daily production runs on a Univac 1100 mainframe; did coding in COBOL and FORTRAN. Center produced the western USA Yellow Pages directories.

– Trading Assistant, Associated Foreign Exchange. March 1981 – July 1981; San Francisco, CA. Cleared trades for online traders in bullion and foreign currencies. Managed retail counter sales.
