Rare, Royal, and Radiant
ABOUT OUR THEME
“Rare, Royal, and Radiant” embodies a comprehensive perspective in celebrating attributes that transcend superficial beauty.
The pageant and its delegates are distinguished in exemplifying uniqueness. Royalty is personified not merely through accolades, but through the embodiment of grace, dignity, and a profound sense of responsibility. Amid challenges, radiance shines brightly, reflecting qualities of intellectual inquisitiveness, courage, and benevolence.
The three R’s are inspired by the symbolism evoked by the color purple.
Together, “Rare, Royal, and Radiant” form a concept that celebrates the multifaceted nature of individuals who possess exceptional qualities, embody leadership with integrity and responsibility, and radiate positivity that transcends outward appearances.
VINCENT MA
Salutation!
In 2014, I had the honor of assuming leadership of this pageant, established by our visionary founder, Rose Chung. Her mission to promote social standards and combat injustice through pageantry continues to guide us today. Through education, community engagement, and empowerment of women, we strive to raise awareness and inspire positive change.
We proudly introduce a class of extraordinary women — intelligent, resilient, and poised to redefine the essence of beauty. Your presence at Miss Asian Global Pageant encourages our delegates to continue their quest for personal excellence, embracing discomfort and building their network.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our supporters, sponsors, friends, and family. Your unwavering support enables us to break barriers and set new standards in pageantry. Together, we empower the next generation of women to embrace leadership roles. Our dedicated volunteers have invested their time, energy, and passion to make this year’s pageant a reality.
As we bid farewell to Queen Kylie Chang and her court, a year marked by impactful community service and advocacy, we cherish the memories they have created. As a new generation emerges, we continue to evolve, thrive, and make our mark in an ever-changing world.
Together, we rise by lifting others.

QUEEN’S FAREWELL
Dear friends and supporters of the Miss Asian Global Pageant,
Being your Miss Asian Global 2023 has been an adventure of a lifetime, and I am so grateful for this year filled with personal growth and community service. I’ve had an incredible time connecting with my Chinese heritage and greater Asian American community, and I could not have asked for a more amazing experience. From serving my community, to making public appearances, emceeing for various events, walking in charity fashion shows, sharing my personal story at Imagine Talks, to finishing my first year in college at UC Berkeley, I am fulfilled that I was able to meet so many new people throughout this unforgettable journey.
Through dance and fashion modeling, I have found my passion in sharing my love for the arts to help build awareness around Asian culture and the Asian American experience. As Miss Asian Global and Spokesmodel of the non-profit Catwalk for Charitable Causes, my mission is to break cultural barriers and increase Asian American representation throughout all industries, especially in the media. As an Asian American woman, I believe that when we see successful people who look like ourselves, it motivates us and shows us that we are capable of achieving our wildest dreams as well. I hope I have made an impact by showing my community that you can achieve anything you put your mind to, no matter the obstacles you may face.
With that being said, I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for my amazing friends, family, and mentors who have provided me with endless support. Even in times of self-doubt, they have been there with me every step of the way to guide and encourage me throughout all of my endeavors. First, I would like to thank my loving family for always being there for me and supporting me all the way. I also want to thank our Leadership Director Dr. Francis Kong, President Vincent Ma, our beloved photographer Mommy Penny, my sponsors, and of course, Founder Rose Chung, for leaving an enduring legacy of women’s empowerment.
This is only the beginning of my adventure, and I cannot wait to see where this next chapter takes me. I wish Miss Asian Global 2024 the best of luck on her new journey!
Best wishes,
Kylie Chang

QUEEN’S FAREWELL
Dear Friends and Family,
Today marks the end of an incredible chapter in my life as your Miss Asian America 2023. It has been an honor and privilege to represent our community over the past year. I have carried this title with so much love and pride.
MAG will forever hold a place in my heart because it allowed me to realize how much I could truly accomplish. It then encouraged me to pursue all of the opportunities and experiences I wanted. In just my year as queen, I became a student doctor, a model, a fiancé, and an animal rights advocate. Without MAG being the catalyst I needed in my life, I would not be who I am at this moment.
Though this year there will not be another Miss Asian America, I ask all of the future queens of MAG to embrace this opportunity with joy and humility. You are stepping into a role that carries with it the power to elicit great change and touch lives. I am confident you will shine brightly and make all of us proud.
To my fellow pageant sisters, thank you for your friendship, camaraderie, and shared commitment to our mission. You have made this journey richer and far more beautiful than I could have imagined.
As my term comes to a close, I am excited for what the future holds. The skills and lessons that I have learned will always guide me in all my future endeavors.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me the privilege of serving as your Miss Asian America 2023. I am forever grateful for this extraordinary journey.
With love and gratitude, Erin Kwon

I have always loved to tell stories, but never found any like mine in libraries. With my mom from Pangasinan, and dad from Navotas, I am 100% Filipino, and we have so many stories to tell. I am going to produce more art, books, and even games that showcase stories of the bravery, resilience, and compassion that is ever-present among our people. I will use different art forms and media to ensure that we have an audience, so we can all take pride in sharing our Filipino culture and heritage. The time for our stories to be heard is now.

As a professional ballet dancer, I started solo traveling at 14. My world was as big as the stage, and I only talked to other dancers. My worldview was limited. Returning to UCLA for international relations and policy, I matured beyond being just a dancer. Now, as a policy researcher, I work globally to build cross-cultural relationships. Growing up in a broken family affected my mental health. Children grow in different ways depending on their upbringing and their environment. Unfortunately, not all children are blessed with a support system and are often having to grow and learn on their own. As a future child psychologist, it is my goal to give children a learning and growing space to help them develop individually while also providing them a safe space for the sake of their mental health.

I should’ve been here 10 years ago, but one question held me back - Am I good enough to be here? Growing up Asian, my main focus was on family, not myself. Once I moved out, I started to learn about the world. I said yes to new choices and advocated for myself. My podcast ‘ROARRIORS’ features women who share their battles and achievements. Despite Bay Area students establishing ethnic studies fifty years ago, students are still limited from learning about our diverse histories and cultures of America today. During the pandemic, UC Berkeley even tried to cut our ethnic studies programs. My fellow students and I worked with faculty and community leaders to gather support for our courses. We saved our classes this time, but I continue to support our networks to promote and maintain ethnic studies classes in public schools.

As a dog lover for over 10 years, I volunteer at the Milo Foundation, a no-kill shelter providing sanctuary for dogs. While supporting their mission for every dog to find a loving home, I’m mindful of the broader issue of dog overpopulation and shelter challenges. I advocate for responsible pet ownership, promoting adoption, sterilization, and supporting shelters in their efforts to care for these dogs. Let’s work towards a future where every dog is valued and thrives.

Stories, cultural backgrounds, and shared experiences shape our identities. Every family has its own story and secret food recipe. For me, that is the Li Family’s Savory Tong Yun recipe, passed down from father to daughter. As a digital media student, I plan to create a video website series that records our seniors’ own voices talking about their favorite food. “Food Tales” will serve as a history archive because everyone here has a tale to tell. Don’t let it vanish.

When I first started learning Chinese folk dance at age seven, I really had no idea what I was absorbing. As I grew older, I started to understand more about who I was going back to my roots. I now pass on my knowledge to the younger generation, as a way of paying forward my knowledge. Because culture is continuous, it’s crucial we understand our roots of where we came from and who we are.

Growing up in the south, dealing with racial biases as the only Asian was an unfortunate daily reality. Thus, in college, I took initiative to found the first Asian business organization. Since moving to San Francisco, I empower students and elders - encouraging self-advocacy and creating leaders in our community. My mission is to inspire and equip Asian Americans to find their voices: to dispel unjust stereotypes, showcase our rich culture, and redefine the false narrative towards one that highlights our resilience.

What do you say to someone who has had his or her dreams ignored? This is what I dealt with the past 5 years. My students came to me for help in crafting their college essays because apparently, I’m one of a few adults who acknowledge them. This is the transformative power of communication. In the words of author Roy T. Bennett, “Listen with curiosity. Speak with honesty. Act with integrity.” Furthermore, have an empathetic ear and understanding heart.

From a young age, I’ve recognized the power that the youth have to make differences in the community, political sphere, and the world. After seeing and experiencing injustices in the media and everyday life, I became an activist and aspiring lawyer and judge. I hope to work to change the justice system and encourage younger generations to utilize their voices.

When I worked at SpaceX, I was the only woman out of 20 engineers on my team. To fit in, I conformed to everybody’s expectations of a competent engineer - to be good with numbers, dress alike, and be like a male. I wondered, “do I really belong here?” I decided I would stay, but not be the stereotype. As a Stanford aerospace engineering PhD candidate, I have given a number of talks to young girls to show them they can be engineers and leaders. Tonight, I encourage you to embrace and show off your true self in this world, especially in STEM.

As we listen to stories, we start telling our own. Storytelling has the magic to broaden perspectives and bring people closer. As a multilingual storyteller, I want to bridge the mountains and water between nations and use our stories to inspire each other. This will give all of us a sense of hope and community in today’s disconnected world, where most of us might not even know our neighbor’s name. Storytelling brings us all together.

Looking back with gratitude, I realize how invaluable sports have been. Since the age of six, I’ve been figure skating competitively on a synchronized skating team. This opportunity has shaped my character and skill in ways no other activity could by teaching me discipline and resilience. Like many immigrant families that come to the US, we all share the dream of seizing opportunities. Most of these opportunities include getting a well paying job and one day, buying a home. Unfortunately, the dream ends with purchasing a home. There is a part two that most immigrant families forget: estate planning for the next generation. I’m here to educate families on how to protect their home for the next generation.

As an investor, I was looking for properties that would generate positive cash flow. Not only did she send me properties that fit my criteria, but she also analyzed a profit and loss statement based on rental income and operating expenses for each property that peaked an interest. This was incredibly helpful when I was comparing properties; she helped discern good opportunities from bad opportunities. Her personal experience as a real estate investor was a huge help.

Founder, CEO & Head Monster Monster Products Inc.
Noel Lee has revolutionized product categories in the high-end accessory business with premium speaker and interconnect cables, PowerCenters, and most recently, headphones and wireless speakers. But the real magic is how he taught CE retailers around the world that selling accessories is critical to profitability in an industry where the margins on hardware are disappearing.
In 2008, Lee transformed the portable music industry with the creation and marketing of the Beats by Dre line of headphones. Using his knowledge of acoustics, manufacturing, and sound, he created headphones that delivered the bass and impact that urban and hip-hop music demanded. He then taught retails how to sell them and more than doubled the size of the industry.
Noel has been awarded dozens of industry leadership and philanthropic awards including being inducted in the CTA Hall of Fame in 2015 and the Lifetime Achievement Award at the prestigious Plus X Awards in Berlin.
With over three decades of business, Monster is the largest privately-held Asian-owned business in the Bay Area. It continues to lead in innovation, having been granted more than 500 patents with 100 more pending worldwide, offering more than 5,000 products in more than 160 countries. Lee is still running the show and designs and voices every product including headphones and Bluetooth speakers. Today millions of consumers are enjoying Monster designed or manufactured products.
A Note From THE HEAD MONSTER
I would like to extend my congratulations to Rose Chung and Vincent Ma on Asian America Foundation’s 39th Anniversary of the Miss Asian Global Pageant. Your organization has been providing the younger generation the opportunity to be recognized for their excellence in leadership, confidence and community service.
For three decades, we have been supporting the Miss Asian Global Pageant with scholarships and highly coveted Monster products to show our appreciation for these young women’s ambition and achievements. I commend each delegate for their platform to help others and bring awareness to meaningful causes.
All of you have an incredible "Monster attitude". We are grateful for the efforts of Rose, Vince, the volunteer team and the delegates for helping us to deliver the Monster message. It's the attitude of never giving up and thinking of creative ways to grow in the face of adversity.
