MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD Welcome to the 41st Annual Miss Asian Global Pageant, a celebration of our heritage by showcasing pride in our culture and inspiring the next generation of Asian American leaders. When our Founder, Rose Chung, first asked me to serve as President of the Pageant, I politely declined. I believed that an organization dedicated to empowering women should be led by a woman. After much encouragement, our core committee unanimously expressed their confidence in me, and I accepted the presidency with the promise that my role would be temporary until we found the right woman to lead us into its next chapter. Over the past twelve years, this journey has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. I have gained invaluable lessons about leadership, empowering volunteers, and collaborating with community partners. Most importantly, I have had the honor of serving alongside extraordinary friends whose perseverance and selflessness have strengthened our organization with more innovative programs. I am honored to accept my new role as Chief Executive Officer of Asian America Foundation to continue uplifting our team, expanding our opportunities and exploring new horizons. I congratulate Amanda Lee, the new President of Miss Asian Global Pageant. A 2010 Miss Asian America First Princess and Miss Asian California, Amanda has demonstrated resilience with integrity and passion for our Pageant family’s labor of love La. We have confidence that she will lead our organization to greater heights. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the vivacious Ethel Reddy for her outstanding leadership as President of Asian America Foundation. We are proud that she continues to serve on our Board of Directors. Our sincere appreciation goes to Queen Samantha Teshima and her court. They frequently went the extra mile volunteering at numerous community events, demonstrating extraordinary commitment, compassionate service and personal initiative in representing Miss Asian Global Pageant. Their remarkable diligence, grace and professionalism has set a wonderful example for future titleholders. To our volunteers, thank you for the countless hours you devote behind the scenes. Your positive spirit and loyalty are the foundation of everything we accomplish. To our delegates, thank you for your courage, determination, and willingness to grow. We are honored to be part of your life journey and look forward to hearing about your future achievements. Finally, thank you to our sponsors, alumni, families, community partners, and supporters. Your generosity makes our mission possible to continue the longest running Asian Pageant in the United States. Sincerely, Vincent Ma Chief Executive Officer Asian America Foundation

Salutation!

Gratitude doesn’t fully encompass how I feel about stepping into the role of President of Miss Asian Global. Having participated in the pageant 16 years ago, and winning the title of Miss Asian America 1st Princess and Miss Asian California, I come back year after year to give back a small portion of what this organization has given me ever since. Being able to help empower the next generation of young Asian women has been an incredibly rewarding experience. We live in a world where things are changing rapidly, and it is the ability to adapt and remain resilient in the face of adversity that we see reflected in our delegates every single year. They walk into this pageant as individuals and walk out as sisters, carrying with them a confidence and clarity of purpose that will serve them far beyond this stage. The heart of this pageant has remained unchanged over the years — it is a sisterhood rooted in mentorship, purpose, and representation. We hope to be a small part of these women’s lives as they go on to follow their dreams and passions, knowing that this community will be behind them long after the crown is passed. I am immensely proud of what our founder, Rose Chung, has built over the last forty years of this pageant — a legacy of empowerment that continues to grow stronger with every class of delegates. I also want to thank our outgoing president, Vincent Ma, for his years of dedication and for entrusting me with this opportunity to continue serving as a stepping stone for the next generation of strong, courageous Asian women. To our delegates: thank you for showing up, for being brave, and for reminding us why this organization exists. This is, and will always be, your sisterhood. With heartfelt gratitude, Amanda Lee President, Miss Asian Global

Queen’s Farewell Dear friends, family, and supporters of our Miss Asian Global Pageant, As I write my farewell message, I am filled with gratitude as I reflect on the memories, experiences, and people who have shaped this incredible year. Being crowned the 40th Miss Asian Global has been one of the greatest honors in my life, and as I prepare to pass on this crown, I want to share what this journey has meant to me. おかげさまで (okage sama de). I am who I am because of you. This Japanese phrase has defined my year. I would not be who I am today without the unwavering support of my family, friends, mentors, and of course, my MAG family, who encouraged me every step of the way. Growing up as a half Japanese, half Korean, Asian American here in the San Francisco Bay Area, I spent much of my life trying to understand where I fit between these two beautiful cultures. This title gave me an answer I never expected: I didn’t have to choose; I belonged in both. Every community I visited, every festival I attended, and every conversation I shared reminded me that while our stories may look different, they are woven from the same threads of resilience, pride, and love for our heritage. There is something truly beautiful about being able to celebrate those differences while coming together as one community. This year also allowed me to embrace all parts of who I am. As a second generation pharmacist and leader in my profession, I had the privilege of mentoring students and residents and supporting my teams while serving as Miss Asian Global. Whether I was wearing a white coat or a crown and sash, I felt exactly where I was meant to be. In many ways, my work in healthcare deepened my understanding of this title. Both leadership and community service are grounded in the same principle: showing up for people, and finding meaningful ways to support them. Thank you for this incredible opportunity to serve as your Miss Asian Global Queen. Writing this message is bittersweet because it reminds me that this chapter is coming to a close. Yet I am also reminded that this is not an ending; it is just the beginning. To my pageant sisters, volunteers, and supporters, and to the pharmacists, residents, and students I’ve had the privilege of supporting, learning from, and growing alongside, thank you. Thank you for continually inspiring me to lead with integrity, maturity, and intelligence through every act of kindness and every word of encouragement, both seen and unseen. To the next Miss Asian Global: this crown will ask you to bring your whole self to the journey. Embrace every part of who you are, because that is your greatest strength. And most importantly, don’t hold anything back. With all my gratitude and love, Samantha Teshima Miss Asian Global 2025

I lived my youth appeasing others, afraid to be authentic and pursue my ambitions. Now that I’ve finally built the courage to live life for myself, I wish to inspire those around me. I ask you to have the courage to be human. To express, to love, to feel and indulge. To risk, to fail, to face rejection head on and to continue picking yourself up to try again. Life is fleeting, so have the courage to dream and glow, you will never be too bright for the right people.

One of the most important things in life is to acknowledge and appreciate people to show they are seen and heard. This is significant to me because I’ve always had difficulty sharing and communicating how valuable others are. I created Community Cares, where we make pipe cleaner flowers and donate them to the community to show appreciation and love. I hope to encourage you all to share your gifts and show appreciation to the unsung heroes in your lives.

So many people feel invisible even when surrounded by a large crowd, and because their voices go ignored, they shrink themselves. My goal is to draw out these voices again and make sure everyone knows that they are worth listening to, and worth caring about. With each space I enter, I remain attentive to everyone’s needs and opinions, and always try to encourage everyone to do the same. Only then can we create a true community.

Some of my favorite memories have come from working with students and watching them discover that learning can actually be exciting. Whether it’s building baking soda volcanoes, launching paper airplanes across a classroom, or simply helping someone gain confidence in a subject they once struggled with, I’ve seen how educational equity can open doors far beyond the classroom. I’ve learned that curiosity has a way of bringing people together, and I hope to continue creating spaces where others feel encouraged to ask questions, challenge themselves, and realize that their potential is often much greater than they think. 28

Traveling to 15 countries across 4 continents so far, including 11 in just 4 months, the trajectory of my life transformed. The gift of travel shaped my ability to adapt and stay resilient in moments of challenge, while broadening my cultural perspective. Three days from pageant night, I will be moving to Paris, France to earn my master’s degree in Fashion Studies. Through my journey, I hope to inspire you to live a life without regrets–wherever that may take you.

I’ve always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. But a 2019 CDC study revealed a heartbreaking reality: veterinarians are up to four times more likely to die by suicide than the general population. I know this is a dark topic—but that exact discomfort is the stigma we need to break. My mission is to build a supportive community where vets can safely come together and talk openly. As animal lovers, you can help by actively supporting their mental health. Because to save our pets, we must first support the people who save them.

My platform helps people embrace AI as a creative partner, turning fear into wonder and hesitation into inspiration. This dream lives in my heart because I am both a creator and a scientist. I learned that imagination and innovation aren’t rivals; they’re soulmates. As a PhD student, I conduct AI research, mentor young creators with Girls Who Code, and have published work on AI for creativity. Join me in a world where art and technology don’t compete; they dance together.

Working in health care has taught me the true value of good health, the importance of bodily autonomy, and the quiet loneliness many experience as they age. Volunteering in nursing homes showed me how simply listening and being present can deeply impact seniors’ mental and emotional wellbeing. I’m passionate about using my voice to raise awareness of elder loneliness and to inspire our generation to build meaningful connections that bridge the gap between young and old. Together, we can make a difference.

As an Asian woman in tech, my platform empowers young professionals to find their voices in a world that pushes them to overwork, stay silent, and constantly prove their worth. Through my work at TikTok and the ARISE community for Asian professionals, I found the confidence to speak up and lead with purpose. I believe success should never come at the cost of well-being. And today, I want to remind you: your voice matters, and you are never alone.

Growing up, my deep compassion for wildlife gave me a sense of purpose. Whether I was watching ants in my Lola’s backyard or whales off the coast of Pacifica, I never grew tired of imagining ways to protect Earth’s creatures. That purpose inspired my journey from a bachelor’s degree to a Master of Science in Biology, where I study environmental change and its effects on ecosystems. Today, I educate others through empathy, patience, and fun to inspire conservation and curiosity.

IMAGINE TALKS Ashley Yao As a transportation engineer, Ashley works diligently to design safer futures for highway drivers. She wants to help the community avoid crashes and promote safe traffic practices. Ashley’s mission is to protect the most vulnerable people on roads and create an effective transportation system which is based on safety and security. She has a strong belief that when on the road, it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure everyone gets home safely to their loved ones.

Allison Young Allison quickly learned the importance of parental support during her childhood during the pandemic. Like many students during that time, she lost her sense of self but was lucky enough to find her way through the darkness. Today, as a high school senior, she runs a nonprofit called SYLC (Summit Youth Leadership Club), to help teenagers develop the communication and leadership skills for the future. Her mission is to help the next generation regain what was lost during the quarantine and create a future of young, confident leaders ready to make a difference.

50

Celeste Kwan Celeste has a strong passion for her Chinese community— especially when it comes to the topic of their well-being and housing. At real estate nonprofits and with the Lions Club, she has helped host panels and webinars in Chinese to inform and empower seniors within the Chinese neighborhoods. She has a strong belief that housing justice means language access, legal support, and outreach.

Joanna Mai

Samantha Teshima

Born in the entertainment capital of the world, Joanna’s childhood environment had a profound effect and set her on a course very early in her life. Her mission is to build her own hotel empire in Las Vegas and create one of the most amazing hotel experiences in the world. She is currently studying hotel administration at Cornell University and has already completed internships with Marriott. Joanna is already looking at positions in the near future to manage a hotel upon her college graduation.

As a pharmacist and teacher, Samantha works on helping others share their voice to be heard. She encourages her teams to use their voice to serve patients and to teach, educate, and mentor others to become strong advocates for health. It is one of her life goals to ensure healthcare professionals learn to use their voice so they can make the change they believe is needed in society. Today, she serves in many leadership roles, including the founding of her own consulting company, TeshRx.

Lisa Cheng Lisa is on a mission to help more Asian women gain leadership representation. Despite not having many role models, she became the mentor she always needed and forged her own path. This led her to create Project EmpowerHER. After raising $3 million with the Asian Mental Health Collective, she embraced her mission to be the big sister she always wished she had and light the path for future Asian women leaders. By mentoring high schoolers through funding and community-driven projects, she is now creating new opportunities in leadership development.
