Project Vision

New Bugesera International Airport (NBIA) is a new greenfield airport with 2,500 hectares approximate site area. The project is located in Rwanda, 25 kilometers from the existing Kigali Airport. The new airport is proposed to replace the current Kigali International airport (KGL), and act as a regional hub for East Africa. The airport is planned to handle up to 8.2M MAP

Design Responsibility

Address architectural design deficiencies and deliver coordinated architectural layouts. To achieve this object, the team focus on compliance with building & life safety codes, building functionality and space programming, goods and waste strategies, skin performance (thermal and structural), sustainability goals, interfaces with external areas (mainly airside) and implementation of all other technical requirements Delivered coordinated BIM models for the Arrival level, following industry standards, design according to guidelines, and LOD 300 level of development.
