Welcome, and Thank You for attending the Stockton-Burton Ranches Sale. Our Longhorn herd is one of the largest in the US, numbering over 500 head. In total we have been breeding and raising this majestic breed for over 70 years. Over those years we have been blessed to have raised numerous high selling individuals, that topped some of the most prestigious sales. When we were active on the show circuit, our cattle won numerous Championships and accolades across the country. As breeders we have been honored with ITLA Pioneer Breeder and ITLA Happy Shahan Breeder of the year awards, among others. Most recently John has proudly received the coveted “Red McCombs Award”. While all these accomplishments are nice and greatly appreciated they are not why we do what we do. We do what we do because of our love and dedication to the Texas Longhorn breed. We worked through the cattle, pasture by pasture, selecting cattle that would appeal to a wide range of prospective buyers on all levels. We wanted to offer cattle of various ages, horn lengths and shapes with an emphasis on quality young females. We have included cattle in this sale from some of our best producing family lines that have proven themselves and have withstood the test of time. We are currently breeding 10 top quality bulls with outstanding genetics, including Formal Attire, Deep State, Jest Iron, Trumpter, Confessor, Great American, Captain Cernan, Moon Dragon and Vandelay. Looking through the catalog you will notice that exposure information is listed as continues. We make the management of our herds simpler by leaving our bulls with their assigned cow herds year round. All exposed females selling today will be blood tested to determine pregnancy status. We will provide an update sheet on sale day with current information on calf at side, pregnancy status and horn measurements. We look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones! OFFICIAL PAPER WORK: Official load out paper work will be submitted to the buyer when payment is received. All official paper work for Scratched lots and Pull Outs will not be handed out on sale day. Paper work will be mailed after sale day. No animal can leave the sale facility until a load out/receipt bill of sale is signed by a member of auction staff.
