About me Who is Meshari?

03

About me

I am Meshari, a passionate creature, since day one on the earth, who is trying to discover himself through discovering the world around him. Where I found pencils the ďŹ rst thing I learn to use, which then developed to be an integral part of my identity. Growing up in the desert rough environment, I was questioning myself frequently, as a weekly-based practice, who am I? why am I here? And what should I do? Until I majored in architecture, where I found a considerable amount of answers. Besides being an amateur artist, who his artworks were a part of several art exhibitions and galleries, architecture introduced me to the world of design and theory, both in term of conceptual and practical bases. Where then I found myself dreaming to be an architect who enhances people's lives through his designs. Therefore, I started diving more into the ďŹ eld of creativity, in general, to develop my design skillset, which then allowed me to start running my personal brand as a freelance graphic designer and brand developer. In addition to that, I was part of several competitions, such as 120 HOUR and Solar Decathlon. Furthermore, in Azerbaijan, I represented KSA at the annual conference of the International Union of Architects (IUA), and I have in-ďŹ led experience in the architectural design such as designing the tenth Science and Technology Festival hall and program, in Scitech center, in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Among my many interests, I also enjoy spending time reading literature, history, and sociology and I have published two books under my name.

Almughrizat Library

Since the main function of the library is to spread knowledge, the concept of the project is meant to be a kind of an abstract translation of that substantial role of libraries throughout human history. Inspired ‫ب ز ِ ْدﻧِﻲ ﻋِ ْﻠ ًﻤﺎ‬ by that Āyah "‫"سؤسؤسسؤ‬, which basically means, ‫َو ُﻗﻞ ر‬ my Lord, increase me in knowledge, the design was intended to abstract a path of knowledge that is constructed by the knowledge means such as books. Through the physical architectural elements, specifically the vertical circulation element in the design, the concept was established by four main long staircases that somehow appear to carry the whole building, as well as protect it, which conceptually translated the important role of knowledge in our life. Going back to the main concept which is the path of knowledge, the staircases are surrounded by continuous bookshelves, from the two sides with its monumental expression which emphasized the The more you go up, the less amount of books you will find, and that applies to the lower points of the staircases where they have the major amount of books, which embodied the feature of that abstracted path, where the beginnings to learn might be dense and hard, but once you start climbing that path, it should get lighter, and better and this is the way of learning and get knowledge. main concept.

Ishbiliyah Mosque

Based on the concept of redefining the notion of the mosque and its role in contemporary Islamic societies, in a way that does not contradict the historical context of mosques since the construction of the Prophet’s Mosque until our current era, the initial lines of the Ishbilah mosque project was drawn. Rather, the idea of the project came to support that rich history of mosques and do what aids the nation in its rise and prosperity, as one of the most important pedagogical and educational institutions within the Islamic community. In order to achieve this idea based on the blending between the spirit of the past and the entity of the present, it was necessary to define the main three spectrums of architecture, which are function, form, and meaning. Within these three dimensions, many questions have been raised regarding what those words represent, and their impact on the quality of the design and its impact on society. From the moment of the project’s inception, and even during its design, three main questions were at the head of a group of questions: What is the function of the mosque? What should the mosques look like? What are the meanings that should be present in the mosques? Among these three questions, the design of the Ishbilah mosque was born.

Function: The work on this aspect is embodied in the details of the architectural program, and the relationship between the elements with each other, as we can clearly see the existence of new functions, comparing to the typical mosques programs, in a connected story side by side to the main space, which is the prayer space Form: In this dimension of the process of ďŹ nding a concept, a search was made about what the mosque should look like, as the research was not limited to the architectural or historical aspect, but also the religious aspect of the idea of mosques was included. The symbolism of the mosque lies in its message and its religious, moral, and psychological role in the members of the Islamic community. Meaning: Many design decisions were made based on the profound meanings of the spaces for the worshipers. At the top of the list of those meanings is the decision to locate the main prayer space underground, as it embodies many meanings, including, in the ďŹ rst place, the idea of resorting to Allah, in a form of isolation from the outside world, above the ground.

Essa Championship

On the eighth day of #14_logos_14_days challenge, sponsored by Logohut, designers were asked to design a logo for a hypothetical Championship, which is Essa Arabian Olympic Games Championship. Essa bin Rashid Al Khalifa is an important figure in sports field in Bharain, where he held several leadership positions in Bahrain, starting from his presidency of the Bahrain Club, and he also held the presidency of the Bahrain Football Association from 1974 to 1988. And he chaired the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee since its inception in 1979. In addition, he was appointed Chairman The General Organization for Youth and Sports from 1999 until his death in 2020. Therefore, this challenge came to highlight his efforts in the field of sports in his country.

Pizza Aleusrunia

On the fourth day of #14_logos_14_days challenge, sponsored by Logohut, designers were asked to design a logo for a restaurant based in Lebanon, speciďŹ cally Beirut city. The restaurant's main dish is the pizza cocked with the Aleusrunia bread, which is a popular type of bread in the Syria region (Ash-ShÄ m), where they call it "Abu Arab". Aleusrunia has become a traditional component of people's diet there.

Since Tunisia is considered to be the ďŹ rst Arab country to use the Internet in 1991, the challenge of day twelve of #14_logos_14_days challenge, sponsored by Logohut, was to design a logo for Tunisia Net company, which is a company that provides internet services globally as a gloable company. Shataa

َ ‫يْ َﻟع‬ ‫َس ﻰ‬ ‫ﺸ ﺘ‬ ‫كَ ُْﻢ‬ ‫ْ ْﻌمُ َﻴﻜ‬d‫ﺳ‬ Inspired by the Ayah "‫نِإ‬ ffffd‫َل‬ َ ‫" إِن‬, Al-Lail, 92vs4, which means simply your efforts and deeds are diverse and certainly different from one person to another, therefore, there are those who do good and there are those who do evil, the artwork was engraved to answer the following questions: How do you see the world around you? And how do you look at yourself in this world? The artist found himself answering these questions through his own understanding of that Ayah, where he went to create a new dimension, which is the virtual reality, in order to answer the first question, where he put the viewers in his own conceptual position to fully understand how he does see the world around him. It can be seen as a sudden penetration of the artist's thoughts, or head as well. On the other hand, the artist expresses his perspective of how he sees himself in that world by the main painting which illustrates the diversity and difference between people's beliefs, thoughts, and actions that eventually shape the world around us. Shattaa artwork has been through several stages, starting from the concept and initial sketches, passing by the 3d modeling and composition experimentations, which were done by Rhino software, and ending by the illustration stage and rendering, which were done by Adobe Illustrator (for human figures illustrations ), Adobe Photoshop (for image adjustments), and finally Adobe Premiere and Lumion 10 ( for VR creation)
