About us M10 is a charity that inspires young people, invests in their personal development and seeks to have an influential impact on their contribution to the world. The charity was started in 2009 through their Founder and CEO Stephen Riley, working with students in secondary education in the North East of England. We know that when we connect with young people in a meaningful way, utilising our training expertise and unique blend of activities, they will gain skills and knowledge for whatever adventures they face in life.

MENTORING M10 Mentoring provides students with opportunities to build on their understanding of attitudes, skills and mind sets needed to be successful in employment. At the heart of M10 Mentoring is a valuable relationship between student and mentor. M10 provides carefully selected professionals who help mentor students around key skills needed for the world of work, providing the students on the programme with an employability advantage.
M E N TO RS Mentors are instrumental in influencing a generation of boys in preparation for the workplace. The desire is to equip students with knowledge and an understanding of employability skills, recognising that regardless of the industry you may work in, we all need the right skills to succeed.
One Hour One Student Once A Month Mentors have the privilege of mentoring one student, for one hour, once a month. There is no planning required as we have taken care of the whole programme and design.

M A ST E RC L A S S Probably the most difficult thing that young people find when approaching the world of work is that it’s nothing like school. There is an expectation for them to grow up really fast and have a sense of know-how without being shown how. M10 Masterclasses are designed to equip young people with the best start to securing the job, college or university place they are applying for as well as providing them with skills needed later in life. M10 Masterclasses are made up of a series of workshops that aim to address challenges, fears and common mistakes when preparing for interviews thus increasing confidence and competence for future application processes.
J O B A P P L I CAT I O N S We invite employees from local businesses to share what the common misconceptions are when writing personal statements and job applications. We address the importance of paying attention to ‘Essential’ and ‘Desired’ and how they refer to the job in hand.
I N T E RV I E W S K I L LS 3 dynamic workshops exploring communication skills and personal presentation. The sessions comprise of: - Practice doesn’t make Perfect - How to be confident without pretending. - Fail to Prepare, Prepare to Fail - The questions employers ask and how to answer them well. - Practice makes permanent - Practical application of previous learning in a mock-interview setting.
PUBLIC SPEAKING Providing strategies for overcoming barriers and learning how to deliver a first-class presentation.

M I S S I O N S M10 Missions is about transforming the lives of young people whilst extending a service of love to those living in extreme poverty. We take groups on the trip of a lifetime to give them an experience they will never forget to remember.
Countless volunteers have life changing experiences with M10. The opportunity to build a house for a family in need and bring hope to their hopelessness, whilst at the same time developing personal skills, attitudes and character is an experience not to be missed.
The trip includes 10 Training sessions locally in the UK and then 10 days practically putting that training into action out in Mexico.

MOMENTUM We all have times when we can feel stuck, feeling like we’re not making the progress we hoped for. Sometimes we just want to give up. Students are definitely no different. When we look at successful people, we can see that they look for new ways to move closer to their goals and how to build upon their accomplishments. Creating momentum is key to this success and starts with identifying and doing a little more of the things that move you forward and a little less of the things that hold you back. “Every object in a state of motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless external force is applied to it.” - Newton’s 1st law of motion We have 2 programmes designed to create momentum, build resilience and raise aspiration, and help develop learning behaviours and attitudes to support students in their learning both now and for their future.
R E - E N GAG E Sometimes, additional intervention is needed to further support a student’s development. For many different reasons they may find it hard to engage or struggle to see the value of their education. To be able to give these students a glimpse into the world of work, to connect them with a business and a mentor and to support them with 1-1 coaching helps those that are struggling to engage in the classroom to make links to their learning and their future.
RISE For some students, limited exposure or awareness of the diverse industries in the North East can mean that they lack aspiration for their future. Many have no idea what they want to do when they leave school and this, in turn, can affect their engagement in the classroom. We partner with local businesses to help students learn about the opportunities available to them post-16. Through workshops, coaching and visits to a variety of industry sectors, colleges and universities, students are able to see how their engagement in education now can propel them into the future they want.
