M10 Missions is an experience, a challenge, a character building, mind-blowing, heart-thumping, purpose driven opportunity that will change your perspective on life. The opportunity to go to Mexico for 10 days, to build a house for a family in need and bring hope to their hopelessness, whilst at the same time developing your own personal skills, attitudes and character, is an experience not to be missed. In 2008, Stephen Riley (founder of M10) travelled 5500 miles with a friend to Ensenada to engage in charity work with another world renowned organisation. Whilst there, along with a team of young people, he built a house for a family. The experience was so unlike any he’d ever had, and he came away knowing he needed to do more. This became an opportunity for him to put faith into action. He dreamt of bringing young people from the UK to Ensenada to do exactly the same, and more, and now calls you to do the same.

ENSENADA
Ensenada Ensenada is a port city on the Pacific coast of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. It is 80 miles south of San Diego via the Tijuana Border. The people are friendly, the food is tasty, the sights are incredible and yet the poverty is extreme. Many families and individuals travel north from other regions in the Baja and beyond with the aim of setting up home in the USA for a better life. Unfortunately, most of them don’t make it and so try to settle in Ensenada and the outskirts, building makeshift houses and caring for their families the best they can. The skills and friendliness you bring makes a difference and we’ve got the evidence to show how.

COST COVERS
Flights, Accommodation, Food, Group Travel Insurance, House Build and Furniture costs, Transport in Mexico, M10 t-shirt and resources, Mexican Border visa.
NOT-FOR-PROFIT
M10 the charity makes no profit from the cost of the trip. We have been running this trip since 2009 at cost.
PASSPORT
Your child will need a valid passport and an ESTA (Electronic Standardised Travel Authorisation) for flight passage through the USA.
FUNDRAISING
We encourage students to fundraise the cost of the trip and, in our first training session, we focus on fundraising ideas. To support and encourage you, we invite previous volunteers and parents to share their experiences and fundraising successes.

What Do We Do?
THE DUMP
THE HOUSE BUILD
An extraordinary opportunity to provide a meaningful home for a family who don’t have the means to provide a suitable one for themselves. We arrive on site together where the foundation for the home is already laid. Together with expert builders from ‘Homes of Hope’ and some of their volunteers, our team will be split into three groups; painting, roofing and structure. Over the two days, you build and you see the house come to life, including furniture.

In the outback of Tijuana, there is a place where some of the forgotten and rejected people of Mexico make home. The environment screams out “No one should live here.” It takes homelessness to a whole new level. The service we provide is to hand out bottles of water, food and whatever first aid might be needed. Conversations are meaningful and unforgettable.
ORPHANAGES & REHAB CENTRES
Whilst in Ensenada, you naturally draw comparisons. How does this compare to life at home? Along with your team, you’ll get the opportunity to visit orphanages where, for some children, they have been dropped off each day because their parents have to work but don’t have anyone to babysit. For others, they were given up at birth and haven’t been adopted or fostered. We run games with the children, engage in arts and craft activities as well as support the staff with maintenance and cleaning.

The whole experience surpasses anything you’ve likely experienced in your lifetime and because of that we have injected dynamic training and fun activities in with the whole experience. Each day, you’ll take part in training that seeks to help you think about what you want most out of life and how you can achieve that. You’ll take part in group games not only with your own team but with other team members from other countries around the world. You’ll get the opportunity to build friendships with people your own age and share some of your own experiences about what life looks like where you’re from too.
The food is great, the weather is amazing, the sights are incredible and your experience will be indescribable.
