COMMUNITY RECYCLE DAY CO-HOSTED BY RETAIL MERCHANTS & KEEP VIRGINIA BEAUTIFUL RICHMOND, VA — November 14, 2017 This Friday, November 17, 2017, Retail Merchants (RMA) and Keep Virginia Beautiful (KVB) are teaming up to host a free, extensive drive-thru recycling event. In addition to general recyclables and electronics being collected, there will be on-site paper shredding available and non-perishable foods collected for FeedMore just in time for Thanksgiving. Open to the public, this drive-thru event will run from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in RMA’s parking lot, located at 5101 Monument Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23230, near Willow Lawn. This event supports national efforts and recycling events across the country for America Recycles Day - the only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States. In addition to RMA and KVB, this recycling event is supported by Goodwill, Proshred, Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) and TFC Recycling. RMA & KVB will also be collecting donations of non-perishable foods for FeedMore and Bremo Pharmacy has provided information on drug take-back services. RMA will have directions to Bremo’s location around the corner for participants to easily recycle their old prescriptions. To say thank you for recycling, the first 100 participants will receive a free chicken sandwich card for the Chick-fil-A at Willow Lawn. Accepted recyclables include, but are not limited to, the following: glass, cardboard, aluminum cans, newspapers, household paper, magazines, phone books, plastic bottles, clothing, shoes, furniture, domestics (sheets, towels), collectibles, jewelry, antiques, books, household (dishes, housewares), working flat-panel televisions, DVDs, CDs, records, tapes, small electronics (radios, clocks, lamps), accessories (handbags, belts, scarves), computers, laptops, printers, monitors, hard drives, motherboards, RAM chips, cases, cables, copiers, plotters, telephone systems, IT equipment and all plastic bags. Additionally, each person may bring up to three (3) boxes or bags of paper to be shredded.
