Chew has just begun he r Fulbright experience in Vietnam. After one mo nth there, “it has already been indescribable,” she said. “Teaching English as a second language is a very rewarding passion of mine, and to be able to teach at a gifted high sch ool with some of the most brilliant students in the whole country is just incredibly fun!” she said. What’s your major? Ah, the oft-asked question that can keep undeclared students up at night. We encourage you to get a good night’s rest by remembering that at Lyon College, the answer is entirely up to you.

Lyon offers major programs of study in 16 areas, as well as 13 concentrations and preprofessional programs. But if you still can’t decide on the right program for you, Lyon also gives you the option of developing your own individualized major. For instance, if you’d like to study the national economic impact of WWE wrestling over the last ten years and compare it to the GDPs of small or developing nations, you’ll just have to earn the approval of your advisor, division chair, and dean of the faculty. We wonder if they could take on Lichtenstein—metaphorically speaking, of course.

o the naked eye, Batesville, Arkansas appears to be your ordinary, sleepy, southern town. The quaint community of just over 10,000 sits in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, on the banks of the White River, 90 minutes from the state capital, Little Rock. But it is Batesville’s seemingly unassuming nature that makes it such a unique treasure.
