Design Studio VI - Spring Semester 2020 OBJECTIVE Transform a 6-floor apartment building into a coliving space. PROGRAMS USED AutoCad, 3Ds MAX, Photoshop

BEIT EL FAN Bachoura, Beirut, Lebanon

CONCEPT "Every strong community that has ever existed has started with sharing." Beit El Fan is a coliving space built around the shared values of creative individuals pursuing their passions. It is a place where artists, designers, musicians, and directors live, collaborate and create together. The main idea of the project is to enhance the residents' creativity through coworking and communication, allowing them to learn from each other. Another aim of this concept is to offer young creatives exposure through the public exhibition spaces of the building.

Studios - Third & Fourth Floors

Beit El Fan is a micro city for creative individuals. It encompasses different types of spaces; private, coworking and public. The private parts include bedrooms and coliving amenities, whereas the coworking spaces consist of shared studios and laboratories needed for the residents to create. And finally the public spaces are exhibition areas showcasing residents' work.

The inner void connects the public exhibition spaces that are located on both the ground and last floors. An elevator is placed in its middle, giving the visitor a promenade throughout the whole project.

The sense of unity is translated architecturally through the central void that connects the floors. It is also accentuated through the transparency of the whole structure; glass is often used as wall divisions and balustrades are integrated around the areas overlooking the central void.

INTEGRATE Byblos, Lebanon

Design Studio V - Fall Semester 2019 PROGRAMS USED AutoCad, 3Ds MAX, Photoshop

OBJECTIVE The initial site is composed of a traditional Lebanese house, surrounded by an empty land of 1100 m². It is required to use this area to design a structure consisting of 8 offices for start-up companies. The existing traditional house dates back to the Ottoman era, it is built on the medieval wall that is surrounding the city. Another requirement is to renovate the interior of this house, leaving its envelope intact.

CONCEPT The site is situated in an area characterized by its diversity and its rich history, where many layers of civilizations successfuly existed together. Collaboration has always been a key factor behind a strong community built upon creativity and innovation. Thus, unity and collaboration are the main notions behind the design of the offices.

The Vine Lamp Lighting Design Studio - Spring Semester 2020

Climbing on your wall

CONCEPT Inspired by its green surrounding, the Vine Lamp translates the organic structure of a climbing plant through contemporary design. The concept of branching is minimally expressed though cylindrical elements. The light is emitted through translucent circular shapes, expressing leaves in a delicate manner.
