knowledge and experience of our engineering specialists, our team were able to save a customer many days of downtime and ensure no loss in productivity.

During a regular routine outage for tunnel inspections at a hydro power plant, a problem was identified at the water intake gate system. Our engineering team were immediately notified and mobilised to the site to investigate. They were quick to observe that the sheave had seized in position, causing the wire rope to fail catastrophically.

With the scheduled regular routine outage due to be completed by the end of the week, our team got straight to work to replace the rope and refurbish the sheave overnight. They were then able to successfully fit the refurbished sheave the next day, enabling the power station to be back up and running with no loss to power production. A fantastic quality solution and a very happy customer!

PHP15 High Pressure Petrol, 320LPM The Peerless PHP15 is a 6HP Honda engine high pressure air compressor capable of running at 175PSI. These machines are fantastic for tyre inflation i.e. truck tyres or applications where large volumes of air at high pressure is required.

The advantage of a two-stage compressor is that you do not lose air volume at higher pressure. The air temperature is about 40% cooler than the standard type of air compressor and therefore produces less condensation.

GET YOUR GREASE ON! Did you know that using the incorrect grease on your machinery could result in mechanical problems? At WebsterBSC, we stock a wide range of high-quality grease and are on hand to help our customers select the best product for their needs.

Here is a quick tip to make sure you are using the right grease: Greases containing moly are recommended for slow speed roller bearings that are subjected to very heavy loads or shock loads. For example, the slow or oscillating motion found in pin and bush applications, plain bearings, universal joints and CV joints.

If greases with a high moly content are used in high-speed bearings, problems may be experienced with roller ‘skidding’.

This is where the bearing roller fails to rotate though the full 360 degrees due to the reduction in friction. As result, the roller may develop flat spots and its service life may be reduced.

The Marlin top-quality range of synthetic fibre lifting slings are constructed of closewoven polyester material which offer a lighter alternative to wire rope and chain slings.

The soft material does not scratch or deface loads while the sling fits the contour of the load providing a safe and secure grip. The slings are non-conductive and corrosion resistant and are safe for use in flammable environments.

Flat slings are manufactured from woven polyester with an eye at each end.

Round slings are manufactured from continuous loops of polyester yarn which is strong and durable. These are contained by a woven cover sleeve.
