STRATEGIC PLAN LAUNCH This past winter, a group of over 50 LWISD stakeholders met over 4 days and endeavored to come up with a strategic plan that would ensure that all of us worked towards a common goal: Student Success!

I try to stay in daily communication with the parents so that they know how their child's day was, as well as what they did throughout the day. There are times that I may need input on different strategies and things that are working at home for their child so that we can utilize it classroom and visa-versa. I think that being able to reach out and correspond with my parents at any moment not only helps me get to know my students better but also gives the parents more involvement with their child's education.

Be sure to verify your duty calendar before leaving for the summer break. This will tell you when your report date is for the 2022-2023.

To find your current salary/hourly rate, login into Employee Access > click on Assignments > click on Expand All > Scroll down to Payroll Information to see current contract amount, daily rate and hourly rate. To determine new salary for NonTeaching Positions on the new salary schedule that is posted on the website, take the currently midpoint rate multiply by 3%, add that amount to current daily/hourly rate for the new rate for the 2022-23 school year.

WHAT'S NEW!!

After doing a survey of paraprofessionals/aides, 73% stated they preferred getting paid twice a month on the 10th and 26th of the month.

For the new year, Paraprofessionals will start being paid twice a month beginning on the following months: 12 Month Employees will start in July 11 Month Employees will start in August 10 Month Employees will start in September .

Lake Worth Independent School District developed a school bus fleet replacement program in Spring 2020 aimed at reducing our fleet economically, replacing existing school buses with new school buses, and increasing our safety level for all students on board.

We will complete replacement of all route buses in May 2022, including special education school buses. All replacement school buses will have three-point seat belts, accident avoidance detection, in-transit visibility, camera surveillance, and factory warranties.

Additionally, the school bus fleet replacement program will reduce fuel and maintenance costs, provide seat belts for 100% of our students, and provide in-transit visibility for our faculty, staff, and parents to see our children moving to and from school daily. The school bus fleet replacement program includes a grant from the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality for $811,800 reducing our cost per school bus by $73,800 each.

WHAT'S HAPPENING We highly encourage LWISD staff to attend district events. This is a great way to be part of the community, connect with our families, and build trust.
