make sure to review your paystub in Skyward Employee Access. We advise everyone to double check their voluntary benefits/payroll deductions and Federal tax deductions. If you have too little or too much income tax coming out, you may change your W-4 withholding selections. Contact payroll for instructions. It is also a good idea, this time of year, for you to verify all your information in skyward, such as phone numbers, mailing addresses, personal email addresses, confidentiality selections, etc. For help navigating Skyward Employee Access, see our

STARFROGS CAFE AT LCMS By April Carter
In 2019, Mrs. Dana Scott wrote a grant proposal for her ILS II students at Lucyle Collins Middle School. The Lake Worth ISD Education Foundation approved her proposal

and was awarded the funds needed to start the Starfrogs Café at Collins Middle School. Through the Starfrogs Café, the students in Mrs. Scott’s class run a coffee cart business selling coffees and teas to the faculty and staff at Collins Middle School every Wednesday morning. Mrs. Scott’s students are learning many valuable livable skills through their coffee cart business. They are learning employable skills by counting money, giving change, customer service skills as well as food safety and food preparation skills. They learn about inventory, budgets, and even shopping for supplies. Mrs. Scott said that her year-end goal is that the coffee cart business will be a student led business and she will just supervise as they run the business. Independence among her students is very important to Mrs. Scott. She wants her students to be seen and show that they are capable just like their peers, despite any differences they may have academically.

BE AN INSPIRATION BLast week, Coach Ashley Garst of the Lucyle Collins Middle School Volleyball team asked her players for a list of teachers who inspired them.
Those special teachers were invited to

attend the volleyball game on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Before the game, the Lady Frogs honored their inspirational teachers.
The Lady Frogs played the Azle Forte Hornets to a
packed house.
There were so many spectators in attendance
This email was sent to the LWISD Public Relations email from a parent from

that many watched the Lady Frogs battle the Hornets from the cafeteria.
Come support our Lady Frogs at their next home
game on October 14, 2021 at 4:00 PM when they take on the Highland Middle School Hawks.
Last week I was at a cross country meet at the Buff in Fort Worth. The middle school girls were the last to run so they didn’t have much of a crowd motivating them. Towards the end, at the last curve before the finish, there were a few boys who I believe attend Lucyle Collins middle school gathered (they had black and white uniforms with COLLINS across the chest). They cheered for every single person who approached them. When someone from their school got close, they went berserkbut it didn’t matter how fast or what color uniform a runner wore, these awesome boys gave EVERY runner a boost. Not many people were left to witness, and I don’t know if they did that for the other races but I saw them - and it made me very proud to see kids with that level of sportsmanship and general decency. I thought someone in the ISD should know that they represent their school very well. Bravo on the type of athletes you guys produce.
