She had the results in her hand.

She was pregnant.

We were pregnant.

The thing we had tried for so long to achieve.

We were happy, elated, excited, amazed, awestruck.

And you were with us.

We went back for visits.

We went to check ups.

We told our family.

He was a boy.

The picture of the sonogram was framed and hung.

He was tiny, adorable, amazing, made from us, perfect.

And you were with us.

We could picture his future.

We could see the sports he’d play.

We could see the things he’d like to do.

He was awesome.

His room was decorated and painted blue.

We were nervous, anxious, excited, prepared, ready.

And you were with us.

He was with us 7 months 15 days.

The ultrasound showed him.

That perfect picture His hands, His feet, His head, Perfectly still.

We held him in our arms.

We looked at him.

We really looked at him.

We studied each finger on this perfect little hands.

Each toe on those perfect little feet.

Each hair on his perfect little head.

A lifetime’s worth of love given to one child, our child, in four hours.

Why we could see all he could have been.

We were devastated, distraught, lost, in pain, sad.

A COLLECTION FROM LW RESIDENT ARTIST: Dean Troutman part 1 Dean and wife Marta move to Leisure World in December 2015 from Branson, MO. Dean spent seven years working for Boeing in Wichita, KS and 28 years as an educator at the Wichita Area Technical College. Dean has had the opportunity to take classes

in many mediums, clay, sculpture, woodcarving, stone carving, oil, graphite, colored pencil, and pastel.

He studied for four winters in graphic arts under Virginia (Tiny) Carlson and three years under Helen Rowles at the Mesa Art Center.

He also worked as a guest woodcarver at Silver Dollar City Theme Park in Branson for 45 summers. Dean is a nationally known woodcarver who has won many awards. His subject is usually related to a western theme.

We have the usual physical ailments consistent with our age—cancer that necessitated awful treatment, open heart surgery, a broken back from a car accident that leaves Vicky in pain all the time, and a foot rebuild that makes Dan’s foot more

of a club than a foot. Most of the time we are not dancing on ideal dance floors. The areas are small, seriously limiting our freedom, and when we are on our front porch the floorboards are uneven. When we’re camping, the dance surface is full of hidden surprises, like rocks, sticks, and holes. But, hey, we are still dancing! And LOVE IT! We make no money from our videos—that is not our thing. We just want people to see that, even in their senior years with so many people who were loved now gone and with their bodies deteriorating from age, people can still dance….can still enjoy the music they remember so well from their childhoods and adolescences…..and can stay in love!””

TIME Rev. H. R. McClellan - (a Leisure World book author) 1685 Day time, Nighttime, Lifetime We live our lives according to Time. But has anyone ever wondered what Time is, and how often we look at the ‘clock’ Time, is of itself, the movement of one planet (Earth) around another (Sun) scientifically referred to as Revolutions of Earth Spins.

The Earth we live on is in motion. This enables the Planet to continually regenerate itself to keep the Earth from stagnating.

We have created a ‘clock’ for ourselves, which calculates numbers of seconds, minutes, hours, days,

months, years...and is a reminder (to each of us) of what we want/need to do and accomplish.

Once we had lived through each 24 hours it is set in concrete.

This means it cannot be drawn backward. (Or, the same exact life moments cannot be relived over again). The reason this would counteract the thinking/ process (consciousness) level of each individual person around the world.

Someone once described Time as an illusion of movement generating thought.

Life is a mystery, of which we are still seeking answers.
