Moe View Club

MOE View Club members are reminded that a picnic has been planned at the Immigration Walk in Morwell on Wednesday, January 12 at 12 noon. Bring your own picnic and chair and meet in the park if the weather is suitable. The first General Meeting for the year will be held on Wednesday, February 2 at 10.30am. This meeting is our AGM and Annual Subscriptions will be due. Our members are asked to present their vaccination details on entry to the venue. The date of the next Committee Meeting will be changed due to it falling on Australia Day. The new date will be announced at a later date. Latrobe Chorale

THE Latrobe Chorale will resume rehearsals in Morwell on Tuesday evenings, commencing on January 25. Rehearsals will be in preparation for the upcoming Faure Requiem concert which is scheduled to be performed on March 25 and 26. New singers are welcome, come and try it out. Keenagers Table Tennis

MOE/NEWBOROUGH Keenager Table Tennis Club are seeking to attract new players interested in playing table tennis. Keenagers play at Latrobe Leisure Centre, Old Sale Road, Newborough. Sessions are on Monday and Thursday from 9.30am to 11.30am. Sessional fees are $3 and insurance is $10 annually. Keenagers is set up to promote recreational table tennis for older residents and retirees in the Moe/ Newborough area, having benefits deriving from this activity a friendly social setting. THE Coal Valley Male Chorus has resumed. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays, 5pm to 7pm at Morwell East Senior Citizens Centre, Vary Street. Come and have a go!

Ballroom Dance Lessons

LATROBE Valley Dance Promotions Inc Ballroom Dance Lessons are looking forward to starting back on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 7pm to 10pm. This date may change depending on COVID restrictions at the time. COVID rules will apply. All patrons must be fully vaccinated and proof of vaccination will need to be shown. COVID Marshall will be in attendance. QR scan check-in will be required, or manual sign in must be used. Please arrive a little bit earlier to allow for the check-in process. Orana Seniors Club

THE Orana Seniors Club is located at the top of Stamford Street, Newborough or can be found via Ollerton Avenue. We are a group of seniors who enjoy getting together for various activities. On the first Thursday of each month we have a general lunch meeting usually followed by a Guest Speaker. The menu is decided upon by the members and is different from month to month. On Tuesday around 1pm, we play 500 and Rummy Kub. Thursday mornings (but not on meeting days) our craft group meet from 10am until noon. Bring along what you are making or just come for company and a cuppa. We have a full-sized billiards table calling out for use and we have indoor bowls mats for members as well. Our annual fee is $5. On the first Saturday afternoon of the month we meet for lunch and trivia, a movie or board games and cards. New members will be made very welcome, we look forward to hearing from you. Moe Art Society

MOE Art Society will resume their weekly meetings on January 13 at Heritage Park from 9am until 2pm. Members can look forward to a happy and healthy New Year 2022. A display of members work will be held on a regular basis at the Moe Library. The paintings will change monthly and provide interest to the public until the Art Show in October 2022. Dancing again at the

Newborough Public Hall

THE Moe Social Dance Club has recommenced the Monday night dances at the Newborough Public Hall in Balfour St, Newborough, from 8pm. Music will be supplied by Charlie’s CD’s. Due to council requirements the QR scan checkin, or manual sign-in must be used. All patrons must be fully vaccinated and proof of vaccination will need to be shown before entry. It would be appreciated if patrons could come a little early to allow for check-in time. If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend the dance. Morwell Combined Pensioners

MORWELL Combined Pensioners will be holding our Australia Day celebrations on Monday, January 24. All financial members are welcome to attend but you must be double vaccinated. Sausage sizzle and sweets for lunch and afternoon tea is included. The cost to attend will be $5 each. Lunch is from 12.30pm onwards. Raffles as usual. Listening Post Drop-In Centre

THE Listening Post Drop in Centre at 7 Anzac Street Moe (opposite Woolworths) has resumed its 10am–12 noon service on Fridays. It is a quiet accessible place for people to drop in for a cuppa and/or a confidential chat. This is a free service from the Moe-Newborough Anglican Church in partnership with Anglicare. Neighbourhood Watch Latrobe

NEIGHBOURHOOD Watch Latrobe is a group of volunteers that work on many different levels within the community to ensure a safe and secure environment to all people in the Latrobe Valley region. They always welcome new volunteers to assist with events such as sausage sizzles, secure number plate days and other events.
