Why Real Estate?

A home is a special place where life’s seasons, events and emotions are shared and celebrated! Growing up in Austin, I enjoyed the benefits of having a large extended family in the Austin and Central Texas area. During my early teen years, while searching homes for sale in the Austin American Statesman newspaper, I found our family’s home. The home is still in our family! I’ve always been interested in bringing families and people together. My love for connecting with and serving people led me to my career in Real Estate.

What do you love most about Austin? I love Austin because of it's diversity of people, activities, outdoor spaces and it's real estate!

What skill do you think helps you the most in Real Estate? My love and compelling nature for helping people to find their place in the world, in addition to my thoroughness.

What book has had the biggest impact on your life? The Bible has been the most influential book in my life. I strongly believe if I follow what the Bible says about how to treat mankind, we all come up a little higher! There is no substitute for doing what is right. Every time. My standard is the Bible.

What is your favorite quote? "Don't seek success. Seek excellence - you'll find both." - John Wooden

Where do you and your family go out? When my family goes out, we go to the Town Lake (re-named Ladybird Lake) running trail and downtown restaurants.

Who's been your biggest influence on your career to this point? My biggest influence on my career to this point has been my father. He spoke over my life years ago and encouraged me to become an agent. At the time, I did not listen to him because he was my "parent" telling me what he thought I would excel in. I rebelled against that, I guess you could say. I wish he was alive today to see how much I am loving this real estate career and how my business is thriving. Words are powerful that you speak over people. Another huge impact on my career is my husband, Charles. In the beginning, he was not thrilled about me wanting to go back to work, and since I have, he has been the biggest encourager in my real estate career.

Tell us one thing that not many people know about you? In 2006, we had an unexpected family tragedy and lost our youngest child, Alexandra, to a brain tumor. After two extremely difficult years, I decided to move forward with a career in Real Estate. My husband, Charles, was involved with his thriving career in Financial Services and our two older children, Tiffany and Charles, III were in school and sports all day and I needed to be purposeful with my time. My husband and kids have been so supportive of me going back to work. They’ve done many open houses with me over the years and now, our son, Charles is working with me in the business. I thank God for the opportunity to serve others in a way that I was created to do. He gave me this career and He’s blessed me, healed me and moved mountains for me. It is such an honor to get to work with buyers to find the perfect home for their family and help sellers get the most for their home they have lived in and loved for so long.

If you could jump on a plane and go anywhere, where would you go? Hawaii. The very laid-back vibe there is very enticing. With a very busy real estate career in Austin, there are times that getting away to that atmosphere and beauty is absolutely essential!
