What people do not realize is that Houston is a big city filled with hidden gems. Eric and I realized that early on, and are working to show how big and powerful these gems are.

We are building an "EKO community" within Houston, and plan on making sure Houston knows about us.

WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO KEEP GOING EVERYDAY WITH YOUR BUSINESS?

I used to work in corporate America and work on my blog and influencer life on the side.While that provided stability and a consistent work schedule I always felt a need to pursue my own passions full time. Eko has given me the opportunity to do what I love every day and create the career I've always wanted. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR INDUSTRY GOING OVER THE NEXT FIVE TO TEN YEARS? ANY BIG SHIFTS, CHANGES, TRENDS, ETC?

At the end of the day, EKO Studios is mostly using Instagram and Facebook as social media platforms.

We know that these digital platforms tend to change rapidly. This is why we are always looking for the next platform, and are eager the learn and master it.

Long-term our value will be in the connections we have in Houston. We plan to build the biggest list of influencers in Houston that will sustain and grow through any technology changes.

DESCRIBE HOW DID YOU FIRST GET INTO BLOGGING?

My love for fashion stems from when I was a little girl, I would model and put on fashion shows in our living room for my siblings. I have always had fashion magazines stashed in my room, I would watch every red carpet show during award season, I even did some modeling as a teen. I put my love for fashion on the back burner after being in the corporate world for a few years.. I missed the fashion world, I missed being a creative and I would style my friends from time to time to get my fashion fix. So, I decided to take the plunge and start The Fashion Turner to be more involved in fashion and to start working on things I am passionate about.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR BLOGGING STYLE?

I would say my blog is more of a style blog with a focus on style tips and tricks.

HOW DO YOU MANAGE TIME TO RUN YOUR BLOG EFFICIENTLY?

The best way for me to run my blog efficiently is to have a schedule. I have a set day that I post to my blog, and I try to stay consistent. I feel that you will have re-ocurring readers when you are consistent.

ooking aback on everything that you have accomplished in life, what is your greatest achievements?

I wouldn't say I have a "greatest achievement" per say. Each year gets better than the last. I try to never look back and say my best times were behind me.

Who or what inspires you to chase your dreams?

I was born with a desire to make things, create things, do things; so for me it can be something as simple as a song I hear that inspires a new idea or as relevant as a new phase in my life that opens doors for the next opportunity.

How did you become to be where you are right now?

A lot of trial and error. I wasn't afraid to try something new and fail, and because of that I've been able to learn different skill sets I never intended to learn. Why did you decide to start your business?

I guess you can say I have always been in business for myself.

As a freelance creative in the fashion advertising space, it can be difficult for people on the outside looking in to know exactly what I do. So for me it was important to create a brand, Galerie Nine 16, as a go to place where people could see my work and learn how they can work with me.

IT WAS IMPORTANT TO GALERIE NINE 16, AS A PEOPLE COULD SEE MY THEY CAN WORK WITH What is your dream-level goal for your business?

Over the next 5 years, I want to focus on creating media for my business, telling stories through video and photo, as well as curating beautiful pieces for purchase on-line and in-person.

What does your current business model look like?

Because creative direction work is project based, I have the pleasure of working with other creatives, as well as brands who hire me to create content for them. For example, I just got off a 2 week project in Lebanon. I was with a team from TFL Entertainment filming a documentary. It was a jam packed schedule with filming and shoots taking up at least 12 hours of everyday. Now I'll spend the next 4 weeks behind the computer working on my website and editing content. No two months are ever the same.

Talk us through what your typical day looks like.

Most days vary but a typical week will include about a third of my time shooting or meeting with potential clients and the rest of the time is spent behind the scenes editing, working on social media, and now launching a line of products for the website.

CREATE A BRAND, GO TO PLACE WHERE WORK AND LEARN HOW ME. What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out?

I think two things are important, even though they may sound contradicting at first. Number 1 - If you don't know exactly what you want to do, try many different things. There are so many different roles in an industry and it's important to know all of your options and opportunities. Number 2 - Find something and go all in. For a long time I did a little bit of everything, but the more specific and honed in to my skill set and goals I get, the happier I am and the easier it is for clients to understand how to work with me.

What's next for your business?

This year I have some exciting film projects coming up and I am really looking forward to working on the Galerie Nine 16 brand story and product line to share with you all.

To finally step out on faith to take my business from online to now having a showroom where women can come shop.

Who or what inspires you to chase your dreams?

Wanting more out of life and not just being content with the moment.

How did you become to be where you are right now?

Ambition and passion is what brought me to where I am at right now.

Why did you decide to start your business?

I have always loved fashion especially shopping so I decided why not make this into a business.

What does your current business model look like? Right now I am the everything for my business from the CEO, buyer, marketing director etc.

Talk us through what your typical day looks like.

At the beginning of the day I check to see what new orders have came through over night, then I prepare to ship to those orders.

Throughout the day I am always looking for new arrivals for Kiss Runway meanwhile meeting with clients at the local showroom.

What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out?

If this is your passion do not give up. The market may seem over saturated but you can always create your own avenue and doors will open up for you if you stay consistent.

What's next for your business?

Right now I am working on branding my business.
