Movers and shakers: Barry Fearn, owner of Ahh Geek Out
That ‘something’ is also what attracted Barry Fearn to open gaming store Ahh Geek Out. But he insists all (not just geeks) are welcome.
“The idea was to make this a community space as well as a business and everyone has really embraced it.”
Barry, a born and bred Lutonian, opened his café last year. It was the ‘diverse and open-minded’ community that convinced him High Town was the right location for his niche venture.
“We have been welcomed with open arms”, he says.
“This is a community where people look out for each other and want our store to be an extension of that –somewhere the whole family can enjoy themselves.”

Luton proudly standing on the national and international stage as a cultural destination - attracting tourists, boosting businesses and promoting our home grown talent. Derry and Hull accomplished this and Coventry will follow – all achieving City of Culture status.
Luton is starting on a journey, with the ambition to be named UK City of Culture in 2025. The town will be set alight next year with a programme of activity with the theme - people, power and passion.
From May through to October 2019, there will be a series of arts events made by, with and for Lutonians and the performances, events and artworks will reflect Luton’s strong history of people power, community action and standing up for what we believe in. It will reflect our diverse and vibrant communities and celebrate what makes Luton home for so many people.
