Infectious diseases are the world’s greatest killers, accounting for more than 13 million deaths annually, and the continuing spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria is an emergent threat to public health. My research aims to understand how pathogens infect their hosts in order to develop new strategies to combat diseases. Luther College offers special awards for students majoring in Science and Pre-Professional studies.
Our popular English-Science Bundle prepares students for advanced study in the health-sciences. Students are well positioned to apply to many professional programs. The Pre-Nursing Bundle is designed for students interested in entering a nursing program in Saskatchewan. Here, you will engage in important discussions around ethics and what it means to be a nursing professional. Interdisciplinary Studies MAP students may participate in professional placement opportunities to gain experiential learning in their field of study.

Optional first-year programs that bundle classes from Luther College and the U of R to give you a great start and help smooth the transition from high school to university. We help register you in your classes and make suggestions, even if you don’t know quite yet what degree you will pursue. Studying with others who have similar interests will help you form study groups, feel supported, and make friends.
We are committed to student success and offer over $100,000 in awards to entering and continuing Luther College students each year. This is in addition to the scholarships and bursaries awarded by the University of Regina, and available to all Luther College students.
