There are over 100 donor-funded scholarships given out each year. These scholarships recognize student achievement in academics, citizenship, leadership, arts and athletics. For the 2020-21 school year, over $82,000 in scholarships will be awarded to students.
Congratulations Graduates! Luther College has been serving students from around the world for almost 120 years. This history has consistently demonstrated that as unusual and challenging as this year has been due to the COVID pandemic, the College has always persevered, even flourished, through social crises such as the Spanish flu pandemic, the Depression, and world wars. The two sources of this resilience are the faithfulness of God our sustainer and the people of Luther College. The vision and dedication of countless students, parents, educators, employees, and administrators have established and grown Luther’s reputation for providing young people with a “quality education in a Christian context.” Today we celebrate the Class of 2021’s significant contributions to that excellence and to the lore of the Luther College story. Seeing them proudly graduate this morning and prepare to disperse around the globe reminds us that this school has always been and will continue to be, first and foremost, about the people who live, work, and study in its historic halls. We thank the graduates and their parents for being part of our community of learning, for embracing what was necessary rather than being defeated by what was lost.
