—Kara Osterman ’14, J-term 2013, English 239: In Frankenstein’s Footsteps in England, Switzerland, and Italy “Associated Colleges of the Midwest’s study abroad program in Japan initially scared me—the price was intimidating and it was over 11 months long. In the end, it was my dream to go to this country. Through online and ACM rescources, I was hooked up with both the Gilman Scholarship and a scholarship from the Japanese government of $11,000.

Scholarships, loans, the help of family, and determination made it possible.
