Mission Statement

Founded in 1981, Lutheran Music Program serves musicians and audience members of all ages. We partner with churches, schools, and communities nationwide to present education and performance opportunities that reflect our core values of Lutheran faith, musical excellence, and nurturing community. Our flagship program is the Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival (LSM).

Lutheran Music Program celebrates the rich liturgical heritage of the Lutheran church: •

The worship theme for LSM 2013 was “Word of Grace, Word of Life.”

Nearly two-thirds of LSM students participated in handbells, chapel choir, intro to pipe organ, and/or church music history.

47% of LSM students came from churches enrolled in the Young Musicians Partnership. YMP congregations establish local scholarships, which are matched by Lutheran Music Program.

Twenty four Lutheran colleges and universities now offer dedicated undergraduate scholarships for LSM alumni through the Collegiate Partnership.
