Chamber Music Extravaganza

Experience the excitement of musical collaboration as every instrumental student performs with their chamber ensemble—string quartets, piano trios, brass quintets, and more!

Fresh Ink! Composition Recital

Celebrate new and developing voices as student composers premiere original works in this exciting recital showcasing the creativity of LSM’s young artists.

Festival of Hymns

Under Paul Soulek’s leadership, this year’s festival, titled “We believe…”, will explore belief and community, honoring the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicea.

Musical Theatre Showcase

From Broadway classics to contemporary hits, this year’s Musical Theatre Showcase will feature unforgettable moments from Jesus Christ Superstar, Wicked, The Sound of Music, and more.

Festival Band Concert & Evening Prayer

Led by Dr. Jeffrey Doebler, the evening will feature Remembering Naomi by Dan Schaaf—narrated by voice faculty Liz Gray and honoring African-American suffragist Naomi Anderson.

Jazz Ensemble Concert

Dr. Paul Morton leads the Jazz Ensemble in a lively afternoon concert, celebrating the spontaneity and energy at the heart of jazz.

Festival Choir Concert & Evening Prayer

The Festival Choir, led by Dr. Shannon Gravelle, will present a concert themed on the Great Commandment (Matthew 22: 34-40), exploring love of God and neighbor.

Festival Orchestra Concert & Evening Prayer

Led by Dr. Kevin Sütterlin, the Festival Orchestra will present a dynamic program of symphonic works, spotlighting beloved masterpieces and hidden gems.

Musical Offering & Festival Eucharist

LSM’s final Sunday begins with Porch Brass outside the chapel at 8:30 am and culminates in a closing Eucharist and Musical Offering—a sacred gathering of gratitude, song, and sending forth.

Each summer, over 150 gifted young musicians from across the country audition to dedicate a month of their lives to deepening their musicianship and faith at LSM. Together with our faculty, staff, and fellows, our students form a vibrant community and present more than 30 public recitals, concerts, and worship services—celebrating the next generation of classical and sacred musicians.

Alumni Gathering July 18-20

Dr. Andrew Last

Return to the music, memories, and community that shaped you. Reconnect with fellow alumni, faculty, and current students during a weekend filled with concerts, worship, and fellowship. Highlights include singing in the Alumni Choir under the direction of Dr. Andrew Last (LSM 1991; Festival Choir Director, 2014–2016), sharing in Festival Week performances and worship, and reminiscing over meals and receptions. Experience the enduring influence of J.S. Bach in a recital featuring his masterworks and compositions inspired by his legacy.

Faculty Organ Recital

Celebrate the rich tradition of organ music as renowned artists David Cherwien, Dr. Catherine Rodland, and Chad Fothergill share masterful performances.

Musical Offering & Bach Cantata Eucharist

An LSM tradition! The Festival Choir, led by Dr. Shannon Gravelle, will present Bach’s Du sollt Gott, deinen Herren, lieben, BWV 77, during worship, reflecting on themes of love for God and neighbor.

Festival of Hymns
