TO LUST FARMS We are so pleased to be hosting our Annual Bull Sale at the farm this year. The world is always evolving and so are we. Our goal has been to host a sale on the farm and we feel this is the year to make the leap. Please join us in celebrating our tenth year of selling bulls. The bulls will be penned for your viewing as usual and then we’ll move over to the shop for lunch followed by a video auction.

We strive to bring new genetics into our purebred herd every year.

The Brandin Iron and Upper Cut sons are new lines for us and we’re so pleased with the calves these sires have left us. They both throw calves in the 80s for birthweight but show above average weaning weights. This is also the last calf crop for our longtime herdsire Havoc so don’t miss your opportunity to get in on his great genetics.

The EPDs for Red Angus animals have changed in 2018 and are not comparable to previous years’ numbers. We’re all learning to adjust to these new numbers and finding out what the “new norms” are. Regardless of what number the CAA assigns to these bulls, the quality of our herd remains unchanged and we are steadfast in our commitment to raising sound, functional cattle.

Bedrock is hands down our go to calving ease bull. For three years we used him exclusively on our heifers, both commercial and purebred. He’s a bull that is the correct shape for the job.

Not every heifer he’s bred to is raised to produce calving ease bulls. But, as a heifer they are all exposed to a calving ease bull. The results are some good cow bulls with an injection of calving ease. Ernest is one of these bulls. Have a look.

We are very pleased with the job Errol’s dam, 381B, is doing for us. We have retained both of the daughters she has produced in herd. The first, sired by Bedrock, just weaned off an Upper Cut son with a WI of 113.

Her second daughter is sired by Brandin Iron and is currently showing lots of promise in our replacement heifer pen. Errol is a smooth made, structurally correct athletic bull that should give you a beautiful set of replacement heifers.

Changes of information contained in this catalogue will be corrected by announcements from the block at sale time and shall take precedence over any printed material.

TERMS - The terms of the sale are cash or cheque. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. All settlements will be made with the clerks of the sale immediately following the conclusion of the sale. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as it’s sold.

WINTERING - All animals will be wintered at no charge until delivery. Prior arrangements must be made if the bull is to stay any longer than May 1, 2019 and may be subject to a boarding fee.

DELIVERY - Free delivery within a 300km radius of Medicine Hat, AB or the nearest

port of entry. Deliveries will begin after April 1, 2019 at our earliest convenience. No bulls will be loaded out sale day.

REGISTERED LOTS - A certificate of registry will be mailed to the buyer for each animal after settlement is made. All bulls sell under the terms and conditions of the Canadian Angus Association’s Breeders Guarantee.

GENERAL - Lust Farms reserves the right to cancel or postpone the auction if we deem such action is necessary.

LIABILITIES - All persons who attend the sale at Lust Farms do so at their own risk and the seller assumes no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents occurring on the premises.
