Lusk locals set for St Patrick’s Day Parade

The Lusk St Patrick’s Day Parade, which has been an annual event in the village since the early 1980s, will take place again this year.

Lusk Community Council is organising the parade, which will once again be led by the Black Raven Pipe Band.

The parade will assemble on the by-pass road, between the Rush road roundabout and the Skerries road roundabout from 12.30pm.

The gardai will close off this section of the road from 12.30pm.

The judging of participants will take place from 12.45pm and the parade will set of from Rush roundabout at 1.30pm sharp, travelling the route along Station Road to the Square, on up Main Street, turning onto Post Office Road on to the Green, where the prizes will be presented to the winning groups.

This day has always been a family event and Lusk Community Council welcomes all ages to the Lusk St Patrick’s Day Parade.

As the safety and enjoyment of all attending the parade is of paramount importance the following is required of all participants: 4

•Completed entry forms must be returned by March 7 to be eligible to participate in the parade. There will be NO ENTRY FEE. However, due to insurance instruction, completed entry forms are mandatory to enter the parade.

•The instructions of the parade marshals must be followed.

•Walking groups should assemble behind the Black Raven Pipe Band.

•Floats and vehicles should assemble behind the walking groups.

•Floats and motorised vehicles must: Join the parade assembly area from the Skerries Road roundabout only; have appropriate insurance cover for participation in the parade; be driven by appropriately licensed drivers for the vehicle in question; ensure that all persons travelling on floats or vehicles remain seated during the parade; not hand or throw items from floats or vehicles to spectators; complete the entire parade route from the start, at the Rush Road roundabout to the Green, as leaving at any other point along the route posed a safety risk to spectators; vehicles travelling to the Skerries Parade from the Lusk Parade must exit via the Quickpenny Road; and in the interest of safety, all floats must be marshalled and supervised.

•Lusk Carnegie Library Community Hall will be the First Aid centre during the parade.

•For Health and Safety reasons, 40-foot articulated vehicles are not allowed in the parade.

•For Health and Safety reasons, motorcycles are not allowed in the parade, unless they are securely mounted on a float.

Lusk remembers its heroes of 1916

Lusk and Easter 1916 Rising 100 years on, we can be very proud of the men and women of Lusk and Fingal that fought in Easter 1916.

Lusk Community Council is highlighting the ordinary people of Lusk and Fingal that played an extraordinary role in the creation of Ireland’s independence.

While the Dublin Brigade was fighting the battle in Dublin city centre, Fingal’s 5th Battalion was fighting guerrilla tactics across Fingal under the leadership of Commandant Thomas Ashe.

Ashe lived and worked in Corduff, being the Principal in Corduff National School.

Lusk Community Council will promote the role of key members of the Fingal Battalion with banners specially designed for the 1916 Centenary.

The first banner focuses on Charlie Weston and will be installed on the Carnegie Library Community Hall.

Charlie was a Lieutenant in the Fingal Battalion and he played a key role in the Battle of Ashbourne.

The Weston family have a long family connection with Lusk. Weston and Ashe were good friends, united by a common cause, the fight for Irish freedom.

Charlie Weston was interned in Frongoch in Wales after the Rising. In 1916, police notes described Charlie as “A prominent Irish Volunteer”.

Other Weston’s involved in 1916 were Bartle, (Charlie’s brother), also in the Fingal Battalion, and sisters Thomasina and Julia who were prominent in Cumann na mBan. Today the link of the Weston’s continues in Lusk with Gladys Weston who married Paddy, Charlie’s son.

Council is helping local groups to mark 1916 Centenrary Fingal County Council is assisting community and voluntary groups to play their part in commemorating the events of 1916 through the Centenary Community Funding Scheme (CCFS). The fund, which is currently open to applications, supports individuals and groups to run events and projects as part of the Centenary Commemoration.

Among the groups who have been awarded funding is ‘The Banter Boys’, a youth service in Swords, who are producing four large artworks depicting the events of 1916. Once complete, these pieces will be exhibited in libraries across Fingal.

The Foróige Youth Service in Blanchardstown has also been granted funds to create a 1916 project based on Joe Duffy’s book ‘The Children of the Rising.’

Thirty-eight young people, representing various cultures and ethnicities from Dublin 15, will walk in the Blanchardstown St Patrick’s Day parade and the Swords 1916 Commemorative parade on April 24, each holding a large helium balloon (in green, white and orange) to remember the 38 young people from their area who died during the rising.

The 1916 Dublin Players from Skerries have been awarded funding to perform a play on the subject of the Fingal story told through the eyes of Nurse Elizabeth O’Farrell. Elizabeth joined Cumann na mBan on its inception in 1914 and was involved directly in the events of 1916. The play will be performed in the Floraville Garden in

Skerries on Easter Week 2016.

The Forget-Me-Nots, an inclusive community choir for older people, family, friends and neighbours that is especially welcoming to those affected by dementia and memory loss, are using their funding to remember 1916 through an afternoon of music and stories from the period.

This walk down memory lane will be performed in front of an audience.

Naomh Mearnog GAA Club, in Portmarnock, will reflect and celebrate the 1916 rising through recitals, song and re-enactments.

Their events will remember life back in 1916, how people dressed, the street games that children played and the songs that were sung. They will also pay special tribute to those who died tragically and by execution.

Rush Heritage Committee have received funding from the Centenary Fund to run a series of family events and their St Patrick’s Day Parade will be themed ‘1916 Commemoration’.

Fingal County Council chief executive Paul Reid said.“The men and women from Fingal in 1916, who played a vital role in the Rising were very young, politically active and socially aware, just as Fingal today is diverse, youthful, vibrant, engaged and socially aware.

“Fingal County Council has tried to capture this youth and vigour in our County’s commemorative programme.

“As well as more traditional forms of commemoration and reflection, the council is supporting a range of events specifically for young people, including those from our new communities, based around poetry, theatre, film, proclamation readings in Irish and English, commemorative tree planting ceremonies and historical re-enactments in schools.”

Mr Reid added: “We are also supporting the network of community centres across the area in marking the Centenary at a local level.”

The Centenary Community Funding Scheme is part of council’s Centenary Programme, which will see over 50 lectures, film screenings, performances, re-enactments, talks and exhibitions cumulate in a special Commemorative Day in Swords on Sunday April 24.

The funding supports projects, activities and events that fall under one or all of the five themes: Remember, Reconcile, Imagine/Reimagine, Present and Celebration.

The Piping tradition goes back a long way

The sword-dance, once a military-dance performed all over Europe, is nowadays mostly associated with Scottish highland dancing performed to the music of the bagpipes.

So the connection between Irish and Scottish piping is, it would appear, inextricably linked.

The debate regarding the bagpipes being claimed by the Irish or Scottish is most likely a useless effort.

After all, how can a notional-bagpipe-border be assumed just because a stretch of water exists between the two lands?

Many versions of bagpipes exist throughout the world today including the Irish Uillean pipes from early 1700s.

The Irish originally referred to their instrument as the Great Irish Warpipe (Píob Mhór) and by the Scots as the Great Highland Bagpipes.

The Irish version had a bass drone and one tenor while the highland pipes had two tenor drones and a bass drone.

The war-pipes all but disappeared from Ireland in early 1700s, losing favour to other musical instruments while around the same time in the clans of the Scottish highlands, the bagpipes was being adopted by the Scots, eventually becoming their national musical instrument.

The very early bagpipes are quite different from the modern highland bagpipes of today that are played by Pipe Bands in Ireland, Scotland and many countries where the Pipe Band tradition has evolved and

The bagpipes in Ireland go back a long way.

There is some evidence, although somewhat scant, to suggest as early as the 1100s or even before.

References to the ‘bagpipe’ exist in Europe and Britain from this period and assumed to be in Ireland also.

Reference to the ‘battle pipes’ may be found in the texts of the 16th and 17th centuries, while even at this stage the ‘bagpipe’ was the military instrument of Irish soldiers.

troops.

Before the 15th century the Irish and Scottish Gaels used a trumpet or horn and later the ‘bagpipe’ became the war instrument, hence the name ‘war-pipes’.

Chiefs and Kings regularly retained their own personal piper, enjoying a certain status and granted special privileges, and regularly, it would appear, being considered as important as captains and officers.

The bagpipe was also strongly associated with the foot-soldiers of medieval Ireland and Scotland (the kerne) who it is said performed the

Major jobs announcement at airport welcomed THE chief executive of Fingal County Council has welcomed the recent jobs announcement for Dublin Airport.

Paul Reid was speaking after Swissport announced plans to recruit over 200 staff at the airport in the areas of customer service agents, ramp handling agents, flight operations and security and aircraft appearance operatives.

Swissport has been operating at Dublin Airport since its takeover of Servisair in 2013 which operated at Dublin Airport since 1995. Today Swissport provides ground handling services to 46 airlines employing over 570 staff.

In 2015, the aviation ground handler provided services for four million passengers on 20 long haul and 34 short haul routes.

Dublin Airport has had a strong start to 2016, following on from its busiest year ever in 2015.

Last year saw 25 million passengers passing through the airport and it now has direct flights to 170 destination in 38 countries.

Mr Reid said: “I am delighted to welcome this announcement from Swissport of further job creation in Dublin Airport, which serves to further emphasise the economic importance of the airport in the Fingal region and provides a great employment opportunity for the people of Fingal.”

Mayor of Fingal, Cllr David O’Connor said: “ I welcome this employment opportunity for the highly skilled and motivated young people of the Fingal region, and the positive effect which it will have on the local economy.”

Overruling the banks’ veto in PIAs In May last year the Government decided to give the courts the power to overrule the banks’ veto in personal insolvency arrangements (PIAs).

The decision related to those in mortgage arrears where PIAs were being voted down by banks even though the PIA provides for a repayment, over time, of an amount greater than the current value of the property.

For example, a borrower may owe €350,000 on a family home currently worth €200,000 with 15 years left on the mortgage.

The borrower may propose in a PIA that the debt be written down to €275,000 and repaid over the 15 years.

A bank may vote against this proposal and ‘veto’ the PIA, assuming that it is owed most of the borrower’s secured debt.

To the borrower this seems illogical – why is the bank refusing €275,000 over time when it will only get €200,000 less costs now?

But the bank may have other reasons for refusing the deal, such as the borrower’s likely ability to repay the entire debt, etc. Less than 12 months later the courts have exercised their power and begun to overrule the bank veto in personal insolvency arrangements.

Following the success of its visit to Tower View Montessori in Lusk last year, Dogs’ Trust made another visit to the area recently to highlight the work its does in Dublin.

Fiona, a member of staff, delighted the children when she brought along her threeyear-old boxer Ollie.

AN Irish charity offering support and professional counselling to women affected by maternal mental health issues as a result of conception, pregnancy and childbirth is providing vital counselling and supports at its headquarters in Skerries.

Irene Lowry established Nurture from her family home in early 2011 with a friend and colleague, Lilian McGowan.

Irene is a humanistic counsellor with her own counselling practice in Rush. In 2010 she counselled two young women who were battling postnatal depression. Tragically they died by suicide and left three very young children and loving families behind.

According to Ms Lowry, these women were “waiting on the public health waiting lists over nine months”.

“We are all too aware that nine months is just too long for any woman to have to wait for a counselling appointment,” said Ms Lowry who recently won a very prestigious award, at Social Entrepreneurs Ireland 2015. This means a significant financial investment in Nurture’s work.

With the financial support of both the National Office for Suicide Prevention, the progressive Credit Union in Balbriggan and other funders, the charity moved out of Ms Lowry’s family home to a beautiful centre of excellence in Skerries.

The Skerries centre offers a walk-in support service, one-to-one counselling and support groups for women and their babies for post-natal depression, birth trauma and grief.

Nurture has a ‘no wait list policy’ and all supports are both affordable and accessible to women, partners and families.

Today, Nurture is a nationwide charity with 27 dedicated counsellors, all fully accredited to their respective Irish governing bodies.

The charity focuses on counselling women affected by issues such as prenatal and post-natal depression, birth trauma, miscarriage, loss of a baby and failed IVF. It is estimated that over 42,000 women in Ireland will experience some form of depression or anxiety every year, many due to a miscarriage, failed IVF or pre- or post-natal depression.

Since 2011 Nurture has provided vital supports to over 1,600 women and 150 men nationwide through its network of trained counsellors.

Chief executive of Nurture Ms Lowry said that despite some progress in the way mental health is perceived and treated in Ireland, there is still a huge stigma attached to the issue of maternal mental health.

“Many women feel ashamed and a sense of failure if they are unable to conceive or carry a child, or if they suffer from depression following the birth of a child,” she said.

“As a result, they feel very alone and isolated and at times do not fully understand what they are experiencing. They simply do not know where to turn for support.

“Our aim is to help these women and their families to get back to positive emotional well-being by providing professional, affordable and confidential supports nationwide.”

Nurture is encouraging any woman who is feeling anxious or depressed to pick up the phone and contact them today.

“You are not alone – help is available to get you back to positive mental health,” added Ms Lowry.

As Nurture has no waiting lists, people in need of help will be seen within two weeks of contacting the charity.

In severe cases, they will be seen within 24-48 hours, avoiding the need to go to the Emergency Department.

Subsidised counselling is also available to those who cannot afford Nurture’s counselling fee of €35 per session.

On St Patrick’s Day, the Nurture team is putting on a fun-themed march in the parade and are asking women and their families to join them on the day. Bring the kiddies and wheel your buggy and help them raise awareness all for a great cause.

Busy spell for Power Drama School students

Lillyann Shevlin (centre), pictured as the ‘Tin Man’ in Power Drama School’s production of The Wizard of Oz. Two of Power Drama School’s senior students have written one-act plays which will be performed in the school next term.

Sarah McKenna (14) wrote an original play called ‘Pigs in Blankets’ which is a comedy set in a quarreling family at Christmas time, while Sorcha O’Connell (16) has written an original adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’.

Five of the school’s students recently auditioned for a part in Aidan Arnold’s short film based on Thomas Ashe.

The film is a joint collaboration between Lusk Heritage Group and Power Drama School, and will be filmed by Jim Hawkins.

Congratulations are also due to Lillyann Shevlin (9) who made her TV debut in the RTE Junior programme ‘Dig in Diner’ in January. Lillyann played the role of a mountain climber in the popular children’s programme.

Meanwhile, all of the Saturday students are busy preparing for their fourth St Patrick’s Day Parade in Lusk, and the Power Drama School students in Rush & Lusk Educate Together are rehearsing for their upcoming production of ‘Harry Potter & the Mountain Troll’.

Local heritage projects to receive funding Government funding is top be provided for a number of local heritage projects.

Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys TD, recently announced that 340 heritage projects nationwide will share in a €2 million investment package as part of the Built Heritage Investment Scheme for 2016.

Projects in Fingal are to receive €43,750 in total of that figure for the conservation and repair of buildings.

Minister Humphreys said Ireland’s heritage buildings and protected structures are a vital part of the infrastructure of our villages, towns, and cities.

“The economic recovery is allowing for increased investment in our heritage assets,” she said.

“As this scheme illustrates, investing in our built heritage is not just good for the individual properties concerned, but can also provide a real boost to job creation in the construction, conservation and tourism sectors.

“A wide range of properties will benefit, including residential homes, townhouses, railway stations, churches, country houses and other heritage buildings.”

Minister Humphries acknowledged the contribution of the local authorities in embracing the scheme which will have a positive impact on protected structures across the country.

“I am also delighted by the response of private owners and their willingness to release substantial private matching funds and invest in our built heritage,” she added.

Local TD Alan Farrell (FG) welcomed the funding.

“Heritage buildings and protected structures are a vital part of Dublin Fingal and the Government is committed to supporting their conservation,” he said.

“Fine Gael has a long term economic plan to keep the recovery going which will allow for these kinds of investments to take place.

“The plan has three steps: more and better jobs, making work pay more than welfare, and investment in better public services, which will only be possible as a result of the increased revenue generated by creating more jobs.

Deputy Farrell added: “This plan will ensure that more people feel the benefits of a recovering economy in their own lives.”

Council reports on public lighting request Local councillor Ken Farrell (Lab) has received a report from Fingal County Council in relation to public lighting at Ministers Road.

Cllr Farrell had urged the council to provide public lighting at this location.

The council said it is proposed to include additional lighting on Ministers Road at Dun Emer and lighting improvements at Kelly Park in the 2016 Programme of Works.

“Lighting the remaining section of Ministers Road from Dun Emer to the R132 (360 metres) will require land acquisition and the provision of a footpath to safely install columns due to the proximity of water services,” the council told Cllr Farrell.

Lusk Tidy Towns launch St Patrick’s Day card

The committee is looking for locals’ support to help keep Lusk Tidy.

Meeting held to discuss ambitious sports plan for Lusk The Lusk 2020 Community Sports Plan comprises a number of organisations who are striving to meet the future needs for sporting facilities in Lusk.

Many of the area’s clubs and the community as a whole, urgently needs the delivery of a ‘Recreational Hub’ so that essential sporting/ recreational activities can be provided to the people of Lusk.

The Lusk Community 2020 Sports Plan Committee will give regular updates on its Facebook page on this community initiative, particularly on Friday nights when its issues one of its main communication bulletins for the week.

The latest Lusk 2020 Sports Committee meeting with Fingal County Council officials took place on January 21 with particular focus on the ‘Recreational Hub’ earmarked for Lusk along the Rathmore Road (between Lusk United AFC and the adjacent schools).

Discussions mainly centred around a ‘Phase 1 - phased approach’ for the recreational hub, followed by the recreational hub in its entirety when fully completed.

Phase 1 of the plan is conditional on the developer/landowner transferring ownership of these lands to the council which is of major concern to members.

There was broad acceptance of the proposals by council officials and the committee have provided the council with drawings with a view to council staff finalising survey drawings based on their site surveys and the committee’s proposals.

The council is engaging with the developer/landowner regarding

the transfer of the open space lands to the council.

This will be the trigger for moving to the next public consultation stage on the recreational hub proposals for Lusk, at which stage the community at large will be invited to comment on the proposals.

Method

Ingredients • 150g of chicken breast • 1 whole grain bagel • 1 slice of low fat cheddar cheese • Handful of baby spinach • 50g of Piri Piri hot sauce 22 LUSK LOCAL-MARCH

1. Fry chicken on non stick pan for 5 mins, cover on top so it cooks quicker.

2. Toast bagel in toaster. *hope I don’t have to explain how to do that..

3. Lay down spinach, chicken and slice of cheese on bagel.

Make sure to put the cheese on last as when it melts it holds the bagel together.

Animal Matters

Neutering Dogs and cats should be neutered at a young age. The ideal age for neutering is between six months and one year before females come into heat.

Animal shelters are over populated with dogs and cats brought in because of accidental mating or poorly planned breeding. While this is the main benefit to neutering your pet, the other big result is a healthier and happier pet.

Let’s say, one cat has four kittens (litters can range from 2-9, average being five). Then within six months those four kittens have four kittens of their own (20 unwanted cats within six months).

Then those 16 kittens six months later had four kittens of their own again (36 unwanted cats with one year).

Do you know 36 people that want to adopt a cat? So by neutering that one cat, you have helped reduce the overpopulation problem by roughly 36 cats.

This is also the same for dogs. Their litter sizes vary depending on the size of the dog. Small dog’s litters range from 3-5. Larger dogs’ litters can be up to nine.

These are not definite numbers. There have been cases where there have been litter sizes as big as 12, or as small as just one puppy.

Health Benefits include: • Reduced risk of mammary and testicular cancer.

• Reduced risk of injury from fighting.

• Helps prevent uterine infections in females • Removes the risk of trouble breeding. Some females are great mothers and the instincts kick in straight away. Others don’t understand and can make wrong moves.

Makes a happier pet because: • Females don’t come into heat again. This can make female dogs and cats very restless and sometimes they have a reduced appetite which can lead to more problems.

• Less fighting. The main reason cats fight is to do with territory and mating. Without the drive to mate they have no need to fight.

• Wandering. Females will try anything to leave the house when they are on heat to find a mate.

This can lead them to getting lost or injured. Also, if a male gets the scent of a female on heat near him, he will also try anything to get out of the house, again leading to him wandering.

Lusk youngsters enjoying Junior Parkrun The junior athletes at Lusk AC are enjoying the Junior Parkrun which takes place in Rush every Sunday at 9.30am.

It is great to see new first timers from the club and a number of athletes getting new Personal Bests (PB) on a weekly basis.

Lusk 40-Day Challenge continues Darren Ryan won his first national title in Tuam.

PHOTO: SAM BARNES/SPORTSFILE On February 14, Darren Ryan won the Glo Health All Ireland Inter Counties Cross Country Championships title in Tuam, County Galway.

It was Darren’s first national title and also the first national running title for Lusk Athletic Club. He won the Junior Men’s 6,000m in a time of 22:29.

It was a lovely undulating course over a number of loops which sounds similar to the Ras na hEireann course he raced the previous weekend.

Darren led the race from start to finish and though it seemed he was coming under pressure at times, he was always in full control.

Everyone involved in Lusk AC and the community are delighted for Darren and would lile to congratulate him on his success.

At the beginning of Lent, Lusk AC began an exciting new challenge for everyone in the community.

The 40-Day Challenge Ready To Run sees participants running the Ring Road at 6am every morning until Easter Sunday.

The route starts at Lusk National School at 6am and proceeds to Skerries Roundabout for 6.03am, Rush Roundabout 6.06am, Dublin Roundabout 6.12am, Centra Dun Emer 6.20am and Round Towers GAA 6.30am.

There is no warm-up, no waiting and it is run at a steady pace; it is not a sprint session.

People can join in along the way and drop off the route as it suits them.

During the period of the challenge Lusk AC will have a donation box at training on Tuesday and Thursday for a local charity, details of which will be announced shortly.

Ultra Marathon Lusk AC success in Raheny 5 Mile runners Lusk AC would like to congratulate club member John McDonald and Lusk resident Gary Reinhardt on completing the gruelling 50K Ultra Marathon in Donadea Forest Park.

There was a large number of runners out in the blue and white bibs of Lusk AC. Well done to all.

Darren Ryan was the first Junior athlete across the line in the Raheny 5 Mile with an incredible time of 26:56.

The screening is available to everyone in the community aged 12+ and not just club members.

The clinic will be open from 9.30am-5pm. Each screening will take 20-25 minutes.

If you are interested in having yourself or your family screened please make a booking.

Bookings can be made online or over the phone (1890 300 333). Go to www.ameds.ie. Click on the ‘Online Booking’ and enter the clinic code LUSK. Anyone with LAYA is FREE but must make a booking too. Everyone else must pay the €65 fee which is tax deductible. Anyone with other health insurance may be able to claim a percentage back at the end of the year. *AMS (formerly known as Heartaid) provide an on-site Doctor-led Cardiac Screening service to clubs, schools & companies nationwide.

Their service is ultimately aimed at reducing the incidents of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) in Ireland and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Towering performances!

‘Epic’ night at Round Towers Lusk Dinner Dance Round Towers Lusk Dinner Dance was held in the City North Hotel on February 20 and there is only one word to describe the night: EPIC! It was a black tie event and everyone was dressed to impress. Guests enjoyed a prosecco reception at the beginning of the night followed by a four-course meal in the main room which was beautifully set up in the Towers’ blue and white colours.

The 1st team players were presented with the Junior Championship medals and involved in the presentations was players from the 1962 and 1992 Junior Championship teams.

Round Towers GAA Club would like to thank everyone who came and enjoyed the night, especially MC Brian Maguire who did an excellent job.

Special thanks to the organising committee Sarah Kelly, Sarah Sweetman, Stephen Harford, Georgie Leech and Conor Brick who made the night possible. The club is hoping everyone enjoyed themselves and are already looking forward to next year’s Dinner Dance celebrations.

Junsa Taekwondo bring medals home from Belgium

Four members of the team who won medals in Belgium.

Junsa Taekwondo, based in Lusk, is continuing to enjoy success not only domestically, but also on the international stage.

Master Stuart Russell recenty brought seven of his

members to Belgium to take part in the Kuemgang Open Taekwondo competition in Diest.

The Lusk locals didn’t disappoint, with all seven returning home to north county Dublin with medals.

Charlie McDonough (bronze), Shauna Farrell (silver), Patricia Agibuno (bronze), Matthew Agibuno (bronze), Lauren Farrell (bronze), Robbie Weldon Murphy (bronze) and Conor Deery won two bronze medals after competiting in two different weight divisions.

Martial artists from a number of countries took part including England, Netherlands, Spain, Germany and the host nation.

Mr Russell said the players were of a very high standard.

“But the Junsa Taekwondo students were well able to compete against some of the best in Europe,” the proud coach told Lusk Local.

“Overall, it was a very positive trip with some outstanding performances.

Junsa Taekwondo’s next competition is the National Championships which will be held in Stamullen and the club will have a team of 20 students taking part.
