At Torsion Group, our supply chain strategy is built on long-standing relationships, in-house expertise and a shared commitment to quality, safety and performance. We know that reliable delivery comes from aligned, capable partners, which is why we invest in developing a trusted network across all trades and disciplines.

In-house expertise

Our dedicated procurement team brings deep market knowledge and commercial rigour to every scheme. Working closely with our project teams, they lead early engagement, carry out regular market testing and secure best-value outcomes that support both cost certainty and programme integrity.

Monitoring market conditions

We continuously track market trends, supply chain risks and pricing movements across materials and labour. This allows us to anticipate pressures early and implement cost-effective, commercially sound solutions without compromising quality.

Building long-term relationships

Many of our key subcontractors and suppliers have delivered with us across multiple projects and regions. We hold regular workshops and roundtable discussions to promote alignment, surface risks early and ensure shared success. We support our partners’ growth and, in turn, benefit from their consistency and expertise.

Innovation and delivery resilience

Where suitable, we integrate Modern Methods of Construction and offsite solutions to reduce programme time and on-site labour reliance. Combined with our use of digital platforms like Field View for real-time tracking and quality assurance, we maintain performance and delivery resilience across every stage of construction.

COMMITMENT TO HEALTH, SAFETY, AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

At Torsion Group, we place the highest priority on the health, safety, and welfare of our employees, subcontractors, and anyone impacted by our work. Every project is managed with a stringent focus on safety, ensuring our teams are welltrained, equipped with appropriate protective gear, and fully informed of their responsibilities.

Our dedicated Health and Safety Advisors, who are members of IOSH and IIRSM, conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance and uphold our safety standards. We employ only qualified operatives with the necessary experience and skills, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards.

Our subcontractors undergo a rigorous pre-qualification process to ensure they meet our strict criteria for competence, competitiveness, and safety. We engage closely with them to maintain our high standards and ensure seamless collaboration.

Many of our projects are registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme, where we adhere to a five-point Code of Considerate Practice: caring about appearance, respecting the community, protecting the environment, ensuring safety, and valuing our workforce.

Regular communication with local communities and stakeholders, through newsletters and updates, ensures transparency and good neighbourly relations.

We enforce comprehensive induction training for everyone on site, covering critical safety protocols, project details, and specific risks. Our approach includes thorough risk assessments and adherence to CDM regulations, ensuring that all design and construction activities meet regulatory requirements and are carried out safely and efficiently.

Quality Control

At Torsion Group, quality is at the core of our culture and the cornerstone of our success. We take pride in our meticulous attention to detail and work closely with our contractors from the outset to plan and deliver the highest standards of quality throughout our projects.

Creating an Environment for Quality

We ensure that our sites are conducive to achieving quality objectives by maintaining clean and tidy conditions, proper materials storage, appropriate lighting, and protection for completed works. We also prioritise correct sequencing of tasks, weatherproofing for internal works, and providing excellent welfare facilities.

Establishing Quality Standards

Before work begins, we collaborate with consultants and contractors to establish clear quality standards. We use material samples, mock-ups, and advanced areas as benchmarks to ensure that the client’s aspirations are met and consistently replicated throughout the project.

Ongoing Quality Management

We hold weekly quality meetings with each trade to ensure that the agreed standards are maintained and that inspection and test plans are followed. As the project progresses, finishing foremen conduct daily meetings to maintain sequence and quality, systematically inspecting and securing completed areas.

Field View Software

We leverage Field View software to streamline our quality and safety management processes. This cloud-based and mobile solution enables us to replace traditional paper-based methods with efficient digital workflows, allowing real-time data capture, task management, and reporting directly from the field. Field View supports our quality assurance efforts by facilitating precise snagging, consistent inspections, and monitoring for non-conformance.
