Advertise in your local paper? YES, YOU SHOULD! THE POWER OF NEWSPAPER ADS IN 2022 Given the proliferation of digital platforms, the rise of geo-targeting and the constant stream of online news, you may be wondering if it’s worth placing ads in the Lumby Valley Times. In fact, the power of newspapers should not be ignored. Distributed regularly, community newspapers allow you to connect with your target audience in meaningful ways. In fact, studies show that consumers are more likely to be swayed by ads in local newspapers because they view these publications as credible. THE IMPACT OF YOUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER Whether published in print or online, local newspapers remain a top source of reliable information and local content for the public, particularly when it comes to issues affecting the community. Without a doubt, local papers are a relevant and in-demand source of news. And, when marketing dollars are spent wisely, they make a real impact. The takeaway? Make certain to advertise where you’re sure to get real results!

Photo submitted by Jennifer Drewes An Autism Colour Walk was held last weekend at the Lumby Oval. Last year an Autism Jeep Drive was held with the donations going to NONA Child Development Center and they decided to add a colour walk to it this year. Jennifer Drewes says, "My son has autism and it's been a struggle through the years for him to get services and understanding in and out of school. Community support is huge for anyone who has a disability or part of a family with disabilities." As communities come together, supports grow and stereotypes fade. Autism understanding has come a long way but there is still much to learn. Jennifer was so happy with how the Colour Walk turned out and she is so thankful for the support and help she received to set up this event. $245 was raised and will go to NONA Child Development Center. Avenue Pizza donated food for the walk, and the rain held out for us. It was so great to see smiling faces everywhere. Jade Hamilton organized the jeep parade from Vernon to Lumby, and the walk was sponsored by Jennifer Drewes at Century 21 Excellence Realty. Thank you Lumby for always being amazing and supportive!! The Autism Colour Walk was great amazing vendors, donations to NONA and a lot if fun! Cheers to making it louder, bigger and brighter next year!!
