MSIL Visit to Lumax Industries – Lighting & Electronics Division Mr C.V Raman, Chief Technology Officer, Mr Vipin Garg, EO, Mr Biswaranjan Sahoo, DDVM, Mr Krishna Mukund, DPM, Mr Simranjit Singh, DPO, Mr Sumit Makhija, Sr Manager and team from Maruti Suzuki India visited Lumax Industries Limited - Lighting plant and Electronics Division at Bawal, Haryana in November 2023.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss about Lumax's Quality Month initiatives, driven under the guidance of Maruti Suzuki India. The Lumax-DK Jain Group is dedicated to attaining Zero Defect and implements a range of quality improvement initiatives regularly, including TPM, Kaizens, Quality Control Circles, Poke Yoke, Gemba, 5S, and more. We truly appreciate our OEM partners, like Maruti Suzuki India, for their steadfast support as we strive on our journey towards excellence.

Lexmond Trading BV Visit Lumax Industries - Bawal Mr Marco F.M. Lexmond, Director, Lexmond Trading BV, Netherlands visited the Lumax Industries - Bawal in October 2023 to better understand the manufacturing capabilities and processes.

Sonalika Tractors Visit Lumax Industries Pantnagar Mr Pawan Kumar and Mr Dinesh Sharma from Sonalika Tractors visited Lumax Industries - Pantnagar oversee the manufacturing processes and understand the manufacturing capabilities for future business opportunities.

New Product Audit – M&M

Mr Dharmender Rana from Mahindra & Mahindra visited Lumax Industries - Pantnagar for new Product development audit in December 2023.

EVENTS Team Lumax Visit Stanley Electric, Japan

Our nearly 40-year collaboration with Stanley Electric Co., Japan, is testimony of our ability to provide cutting-edge automotive lighting solutions to the Indian market over a sustained period of time. As part of these partnerships, we work closely with our partners consistently to develop new products, upgrade technology, low cost automation, light weighting, process innovation, patent registrations, and more. Team from Lumax Industries Limited recently travelled to Japan to receive training on cutting edge advanced automotive technologies from Stanley Electric.

Brand Day Lumax-DK Jain Group celebrated its Brand Day on November 8th.

The occasion marks the rebranding of the Brand Lumax in the year 2017 and coincides with our Chairman Emeritus, Mr DK Jain's birthday. As part of the celebrations, we reiterated our Brand’s Essence and Brand Story with all the employees creating alignment of all individuals with the Brand.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with IIT Roorkee

At Lumax-DK Jain Group, our ethos revolves around fostering partnerships with world-class institutions and engaging with academia to empower India through education, innovation, and cultural preservation.

In line with this commitment, Lumax-DK Jain Group has established a collaborative Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with IIT Roorkee, aimed at building a sustainable future together. This partnership entails various initiatives, including research collaborations, work-study programs for IIT Roorkee students, the Prime Minister's Fellowship for doctoral research, internships, specialized courses, and workshops tailored for the enrichment of both Lumax members and the academic community at IIT Roorkee.

Quality Communication Meet – MSIL

Mr Anmol Jain, Group Managing Director, Lumax-DK Jain Group participated as a Guest Speaker in a Panel Discussion on the topic "Challenges & Preparedness for Zero Defect Target: 2M to 4M" at the Quality Communication Meet organised by Maruti Suzuki India for its supplier partners.

He emphasised the rapid evolution of technology and its integration into Lumax's design and manufacturing processes to ensure quality.

At Lumax, the priority is not just adopting technology but modifying it to suit Indian conditions. Training is a key focus, aligning manpower skills with technological advancements, and inviting expert trainers from joint venture partners.

Compliance-wise, the company emphasizes sensitization, automation for exports, and employ tools like cameras and scanners for quality assurance. Traceability is meticulously maintained throughout the production process, including tracking components through the supply chain tiers.

Lumax's is committed to fostering a Zero Defect Culture and by actively sharing best practices with other suppliers to ensure a seamless and aligned value chain delivery for Maruti Suzuki India.

Business Communication Meet

Communication meet plays a pivotal role in an organization's journey towards growth, facilitating alignment of goals and strategies, fostering a culture of collaboration, and shared vision. With the same purpose, the Business Communication Meet themed "Connected For Change," was held in Gurugram and Pune in December 2023. The meet outlined the future course of action to attain Sustainable Growth, encompassing our Core Values, fostering ‘One-Lumax’ Culture envisioning a transformative journey towards excellence.

The meets concluded on a high note at both the locations inspiring new vigour and enthusiasm to deliver Pride and Progress with Positivity.

Founder’s Day Celebrations & Long Service Award Ceremony Founder’s Day was celebrated across all location of Lumax-DK Jain Group marking the birth anniversary of our Founder Late Shri Sagar Chand Jain on November 18th. On this occasion several locations organised pooja and havan ceremonies in which several members participated. Apart from this, the occasion also included the Long Service Award Ceremonies being held at several locations.

Quality Month Celebrations

Quality Month Celebrations across all plants of Lumax-DK Jain Group in which members actively participated in taking pledges, quiz competitions, slogan and painting competitions, etc. The winners were recognised by quality heads and plant heads internally. The purpose of the celebrations is create awareness about Quality and Safety ensuring complete adoption of the Zero Defect culture across the group.

Stellantis Award – LATL Accessories Lumax Auto Technologies Limited - Accessories Division received commendation for their robust initiatives in Development, acknowledged by our esteemed customer, Stellantis. Lumax-DK Jain Group extends our gratitude to the Stellantis team for this recognition as we persist in our endeavours towards vehicle personalisation.

ACMA – Northern Region – Kaizen Competition Team Vinayak from Lumax Industries Limited - Haridwar and Team Pratap from Lumax Industries Limited Pantnagar received participation certificates from ACMA - Northern Region for participation and presenting their Kaizen activities related to Break Down Reduction and Reduction in Warranty PPM in November 2023.

12th NHC India Convention 2023 Team Enjoy from Lumax Industries Limited - Bawal received the certificate and plaque of Appreciation in recognition of outstanding NH Circle activity, spirit of team work, cooperation and continuous improvement from Honda India Power Products Limited at the 12th NHC India Convention 2023 in December 2023. CII Industrial Innovation Awards 2023 Lumax Industries Limited, a prominent player in the Automotive Lighting sector, is proud to announce its esteemed recognition as one of the Top 50 Innovative Companies at the prestigious CII Industrial Innovation Awards 2023, which took place in December, 2023.

First Prize – QCC Competition – MG Motor India Team Tejas from Lumax Industries Limited - Gujarat plant 1 won the First Prize at QCC Competition organised by MG Motor India in December 2023.

CSR Life skill for Primary A Journey into Creativity and Sustainability: Our young learners have embarked on an exciting journey exploring the world of recycling and sustainability.

They not only learned about the significance of recycling but also used this knowledge into create items that reflect their ingenuity. Students created Torches and Bottle Fans, utilizing an array of recycled materials.

They ingeniously crafted functional products from repurposed materials, demonstrating their understanding of basic circuitry and the importance of sustainable design.

Environmental Awareness: Students deepened their understanding of the environmental impact of waste and the critical role recycling plays in waste reduction.

This initiative has empowered our primary school students with not only practical skills but also a profound commitment to responsible environmental practices. They are now equipped with both knowledge and values that promote sustainability and responsibility to become future environmental leaders.

Personal Hygiene Sessions for Boys in Haryana While we focus on personal hygiene and menstrual hygiene workshops for girls in schools, the boys have been keen to have personal hygiene awareness sessions to be conducted for them as well. Owing to their keenness, workshops were conducted with male students of Classes X to XII in all the 16 schools of districts Gurugram, Rewari & Nuh, Lumax conducts various programs and interventions. These sessions were conducted by our implementation partner – SAKSHI.

Key topics addressed:

Delving into the significance of basic and personal hygiene in daily life and during puberty, understanding its impact on health and society, and exploring effective ways to maintain personal hygiene.

Comprehensive examination of personal hygiene components such as skin care, oral, hand, face, ear, hair, foot hygiene, genitals, armpits, fingernail and toenail hygiene. Importance of daily showering, body odour management, shaving, appropriate grooming, and clothing choices

Insightful discussions on adolescence and puberty, the transitions in boys, and addressing potential infections stemming from inadequate hygiene practices.

Insightful discussions of physical, emotional and, psychological changes including growth spurts, voice changes & breaks, hair grows, mood swings etc.

Addressing drug abuse among adolescents, understanding the reasons behind teenage drug use, and exploring common types of drugs used by this age group.

Dispelling myths surrounding personal hygiene and adolescence, providing correct information to students to debunk misconceptions.

Different Personalities Require Different Vocations Career counselling and guidance is crucial for students, regardless of whether they attend urban or rural schools. It aids in recognizing their strengths, weaknesses, and potential career paths after school. Regrettably, children from underprivileged backgrounds attending government schools often lack access to this essential guidance to choose appropriate career options due to many constraints one of them being financial constraints. The program also helps students to attain a Growth Mindset, overcome Exam stress and, basic communication skills etc.

Community Camps

Cancer Awareness and Screening Camps were organised in Haryana, where over 500 patients participated and went through complete checkup. The organisation also supports further investigations and subsidised treatments of patients diagnosed at these camps.

Community Camps Eye Screening camps were also conducted in Haryana to support eye check up and free cataract surgeries, 100+ number of surgeries were conducted.

Diwali Celebration This Diwali, Lumax Charitable Foundation (LCF) empowered rural women in Hassanpur through Candle Making training, fostering new skills beyond their daily chores. Over 30 women participated. LCF also collaborates with Govt. Girls High School in Hassanpur, engaging students in various activities. The trained women, excited to learn, received materials for Paraffin Wax, Gel and Soya Wax Candle making with different aromas and colors.

They were taught packaging and encouraged to explore sales opportunities. The women candle-making success story began when they sold creations locally, earning Rs 25,000. Impressed by their designs, the M3M Group Project Manager placed an order for 15,000 candles. Despite challenges in material sourcing and city travel, supported by them families, the women managed the entire process from procurement to production, ensuring profitability.

The collective efforts yielded a significant profit of Rs 68,000, instilling a deep sense of pride and accomplishment.

Spreading Warmth and Cheer!!!

LCF distributed warm sweaters to the students of Govt. Primary Boys School, Gurugram - Haryana on the occasion of Christmas. It's more than 5 years LCF is been associated with this Govt School. It also supports Life skill sessions for students to get future ready to ensures quality and skill-based education to firstgeneration learners of underserved communities.
