A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY
The Make your Move project took its first steps eight years ago in the Dance Section of MusicNet, a festival dedicated to music in the Italian part of Switzerland. As the years went by the project enjoyed growing success in terms of audience, creating a true and proper network between the various dance schools in the region, involving them through performances put on by their students and in the various workshops.
The event has been hosting artists of different levels and disciplines since its early days, offering them a way to make their mark with their talent and charisma. Over time freestyle and dance competitions have gathered momentum, hosting international juries year after year and involving dancers from the region, as well as from the north of Switzerland and beyond its borders, and at the same raising the bar in terms of quality. The event is becoming a street dance festival not to be missed on the regional and national circuit and hence the idea of transforming it into a festival to all intents and purposes was born.
The Festival will offer 3 days of street dance in a mainly urban context with a rich programme consisting of:
Competitions and contests involving both individual dancers and dance crews that will not fail to wow audiences
Artists, performers, installations, DJs and parties that will offer entertainment in a unique, creative and real party atmosphere
Workshops, documentaries and meetings that will offer attendees the chan-
NEW LOCATION
The first edition of Make Your Move – Street Festival will be held at the Palazzo dei Congressi Convention Centre in Lugano, a perfect location for hosting a multi-disciplinary programme like the one offered by the Festival. With its amphitheatre room, spacious entrance hall, various multi-purpose rooms and large square in front of its entrance, the convention centre meets all the requirements of the Festival.
