AUTUMN FESTIVAL / HERBSTFEST / FÊTE DE L’AUTOMNE

Lugano celebrates the autumn with food, wine and traditions

From 2 to 4 October in the city centre

2. – 4. Oktober im Stadtzentrum

Du 2 au 4 octobre au Centre-ville

For three days the city centre will come alive in a festival bursting with the colours, aromas and traditions of the grape harvest.

In the streets of the old town, visitors can try local specialities, taste the finest Ticino wines in typical “grottini” and local restaurants, browse the market stalls and enjoy some shopping. The celebrations will also feature traditional folk music, singing and dancing by folk groups, as well as plenty of activities for the whole family. The AgriFestival is also back for a second year running: along the lakeside promenade to Rivetta Tell, farmers, winegrowers and local producers will bring a taste of the countryside to the city, introducing the public to the finest produce of the Ticino region. Finally, in the City Hall Courtyard, the 15 Patricians Groups of Lugano will welcome visitors to the Patricians' Court, presenting their regions, their activities and their products, which can be purchased on-site.
