A Warm Welcome
The Epping Golf Course is a friendly, family run and built 18 hole parkland golf course. It enjoys many undulations, attractive water features and panoramic views over the Essex countryside.
Primarily a pay and play venue, it is open to visitors, societies and members 7 days a week.
The par 69 5435 yard course, which often has the best greens around, tests golfers to use every club in the bag.
Buggies can be hired subject to availability and home cooked breakfast & lunch can be enjoyed daily in the clubhouse. A further function room seating up to 45 is available for hire upstairs. It also features fantastic short game practice facilities including a 150 yard covered range, putting, chipping and bunker greens and a 3 hole par 3 course, all adjacent to the clubhouse.
Everyone is welcome at the club with no stuffy rules or dress code, and we very much look
forward to seeing you soon!
The Epping Golf Course
The
Epping Golf Course was built as a revival of the original Epping Golf Club which was patriotically ploughed up at the onset of WWII and whose first Vice President was the honourable Sir Winston Churchill.
It is a labour of love and an expression of the dreams, dedication and hard work of brothers Neil and Peter Sjoberg and their families who built, own and still run the course today.
At this time, work was still taking place on the remainder of the course and an honesty box at the back of Neil’s Triumph Spitfire acted as a makeshift clubhouse.
Today the course is renowned for the quality of its greens, the warm reception received by all, and a successful fusion of tradition with a more modern approach to golf. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many volunteers whose generous help and support over the years has made it all possible, and also the featured advertisers for their contribution towards this publication.
EppingGolf Course
After the war, the land on which the golf course now sits was used as arable farmland which became available following the building of the M11, M25 junction in 1987. Having founded PMW German car specialists at the top of Fluxs Lane, Peter Sjoberg took the bold move to purchase the land by loan and together with his brother Neil Sjoberg, their families, a whole host of volunteers, and against all the odds the golfing venture emerged gradually with the first 6-holes opening in 1995.

A selection of golfing essentials are available in the clubhouse along with buggy hire and homecooked breakfasts and lunch. Buggy hire is available at £23 per buggy per round. Families, dogs on leads, and mobile phones welcome. Golfing attire encouraged but not required. Prices correct as of MARCH 2023

AIR Solutions Group Ltd is a UAS specialist company.
We capture aerial data with the use of Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) or drones, this consists of accurate RGB, Multispectral and Thermal data and then create a number of multi layer data sets.
The second arm of the business is consultancy services specialising in the use of UAS within the Infrastructure and Response entities, hence Airborne, Infrastructure, Response (AIR).
The final arm is surveillance, which incorporates Swiss software for situational awareness
through secure live streaming. This company has stemmed from Aerial Photography which is where the passion started and has now grown into all aerial data, however, we know where our grass routes started and always enjoy capturing media grade data, some of which you have seen of Epping Golf Club who helped us when we started 11 years ago now.

150 YEARS OF GOLF IN EPPING
150 Years of Golf in Epping - 30 at The Epping Golf Course.
The first golf course in Epping was a nine hole course based in the “Lower Forest” with a clubhouse at the Wintry Wood small holding in the fork between the Harlow and North weald
junction out of Epping. That ran from about 1885 and closed at the outbreak of WWI. WE don’t know much about it but it had 200 lady members played regular matches against both Nazeing and Harlow Common Golf Clubs (both long defunct) and the members attempted to alleviate the high unemployment locally by funding the building of the lake in the lower forest.
Winston Churchill as its vice President. We know far more about this club, Bridge End Farm was the “Oldest Golf Clubhouse in England”. The Epping Golf Club displays a scorecard from this course and on course signs dug up and donated recently.

The “Fiddlers” club closed at the start of WWII.The Epping Golf Course was granted planning permission 30 years ago this month and as an 18 hole, family owned , pay and pay and members club is now well established is the local and golfing community. Its moto “Quality golf without the price tag”.
