The photoshoot is a vivid tribute to East Africa’s sartorial evolution — a journey shaped by ancestral tradition, post-colonial aesthetics, socio-political tides, pop culture reverberations, and avant-garde innovation. Blending the artistry of Ugandan designers with global streetwear and haute couture, the shoot weaves a visual narrative of African fashion’s resilience, beauty, and boundless creativity — from fabric to hair, from silhouette to statement. At the heart of the story is international South Sudanese model Aliet, whose career began in Uganda before catapulting her to the runways and campaigns of the world’s most iconic fashion houses. She has graced the cover of Vogue Japan, headlined global editorials, and walked for luxury powerhouses including Miu Miu, Versace, Viktor & Rolf, and Bottega Veneta. Shot on location at the historic Margaret Trowell School of Industrial & Fine Arts at Makerere University in Kampala, the setting pays homage to both cultural roots and the creative spirit that continues to shape the future of fashion.
