This hanging light fixture experiments with the folding and distortion of the Polypodium Glycyrrhiza fern. When illuminated, the glow from the cutouts represents the vascular current of the fern. This lamp was inspired by organic structure of the fern blades. In the initial study models, there was an emphasis on the movement of the leaves, which heavily inspired the direction of this lamp.

1.4 CANDY COUTURE

This portmanteau is the combination of a shelf and a chair. Inspired by the Cantilever Chair designed by architect Mart Stam, the goal of this portmanteau is to use the continuous planes in order add a shelf and be structurally sound enough to lack back legs. Altogether, this piece serves the three purposes as art, seating, and storage.
