Function is just as important as the style of the room. Each room in the Showhouse was designed with the anticipation of how someone will use it. Traffic flow, lighting, and views of the outdoors were all things considered when arranging furniture layouts, selecting finishes/materials and specifying fabrics.

The goal of all my projects is to relate the interior and exterior as much as possible. That is the beauty of working within a firm that offers both interior and architectural services.

Kayla Perry had just graduated high school when she discovered she had a cancer that is typically found in children under five years old, and the doctors were stumped. They tried tests and trials on her, but nothing was certain and she never got straight answers or results from the doctors trying to help her.

With pediatric cancer being the most underfunded of all types of cancer research, it wasn’t surprising how many dead ends she ran into.

Two weeks after Kayla’s last treatment ended, she got a call from her doctor who told her that the cancer had grown even though she’d received all the therapy she was supposed to receive. He explained that the chances of Kayla ever being cured were very low. The goal then changed from curing the disease to maintaining the disease. “My doctor had a talk with me and told me that anything I wanted to experience or do before I passed away, I should go ahead and start to do, should this cancer take my life,” said Kayla.

She decided she wanted to do something about pediatric cancer. Kayla founded the organization Open Hands, Overflowing Hearts (OHOH) with one goal in mind: research. Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15 in the US, two thirds of childhood cancer patients live with chronic conditions from their treatment and one in 320 children will be diagnosed with cancer before they turn 20. Despite all of this, childhood cancer treatments have seldom changed in more than a decade.

However, after graduating she soon realized that her desire to create with her hands was much stronger than the flat screen. Mike Reynolds founded Taylor-Made Lumber in 1985 as an added value remanufacturing mill. In 2000 these companies all incorporated under Taylor-Made Transportation Inc. Yuri Figueroa was born in Colima, Mexico in 1989. He received his BFA in Filmmaking from Arte7 in Mexico City. In his earlier years he took painting and drawing lessons, which later led him into a self-taught exploration of different media for his works.Figueroa has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Mexico and the USA, and internationally exhibited in Egypt, Poland and Ireland.
