As our frequency rises & we continue to develop our spiritual abilities, the dream-time worlds blend with our waking lives, and we discover that both are as ‘real’ as each other ARE YOU READY for

‘GOLDEN DOLPHIN’ I actually experienced this in the days leading to December 21st 2012. One night whilst in bed I was visited by a flying golden dolphin!

It was nuzzling at my forehead giving me an attunement to my brain. That night in my dreams I ‘travelled’ to outer reaches of the universe.

I observed how an advanced alien race live in a ‘wave-like’ state of joy and euphoria exploring the universe in gigantic living crystal craft.

So what are the main tools for making life more Magical?

Chances are if you’re reading this, you are already practicing some of them. Other tools may require a re-write of old scripts you may have been running which are self defeating. Even surprisingly simple or subtle changes can have a dramatic affect on your waking and dream worlds. Dreams become more vivid and pleasurable. Lucid Dreaming will become more effortless - allowing you to explore dream scenarios and even change them. Miraculous events will occur more frequently and synchronicity will be as obvious as angels standing in the street holding signs up for you, with your name written on them.

Lucid Life The goal is to not just to be lucid in a dream, it is to be lucid in all realities and dimensions.

What you do in your waking day affects what happens in your dream-time and visa versa. The two states of existence are linked. This is why a trauma in life can give rise to nightmares, or watching a movie that deeply touches you will influence your dreams. Therefore techniques that one applies in the waking world WILL have an effect in your dream world...

Ping Pong Since the two states of waking reality and dream reality are connected, we can find bridge moments between the two. These ‘bridge’ moments feel like energetic portals - because they are! They are direct links to your sub conscious mind! They can be triggered off by synchronicity which in turn triggers a ‘De ja vu’ feeling. Often you may come across a situation that you only dreamt about the night before and yet you have found yourself in the same situation! This is becoming dream world lucid in waking life!

Effectively you are holding on to a dream world frequency in the waking world. The opposite of this is becoming conscious (lucid) in a dream.

In that situation you are holding onto a waking consciousness within a dreaming consciousness.

Becoming aware of these moments makes life much more dream like, flexible & miraculous. You can literally turn around and see your name on a car license plate. You can be in a supermarket and somebody shouts out the thing you forgot to buy, you can be walking down the street and see the answer to a problem, you can have your theories confirmed to you straight way through synchronicity and you can feel like you have skipped into parallel realities with ease.

Saving Grace Life as we know it is assembled frame by frame just like a movie, except that the frame rate is a lot higher than 24 frames per second! We know this because people can, speedup or slow-down their frame rate of perception. Ever noticed how the journey home is quicker than the first journey from your home to the destination? Taking this further some people have actually seen time stop! I personally have heard accounts of people experiencing the outside world as motionless whilst they have remained in motion. On one occasion I was laying on the floor and wanted to move to the couch. When I was half way there. I froze in time! I could not move any further.

It was as if someone had pressed the pause button on me! I couldn’t even advance my thinking forward! It was only the fact that I was standing in an awkward position in-between sitting and standing that I was able to recognise what I was in the middle of doing and break out of it. This experience helped me become more aware of the frames of reality that most people are not. It took my synchronicity perception to another level and helped me understand the value of slowing down.

If you are ever lucky enough to see glimpses of higher dimensional realms such as the angelic realms or even see divine entities such as Arch Angels or Christ, you will notice how they move at a more flowing, graceful rate than this world. Why? Because they exist at a much higher frame rate.

Become faster by getting slower So how can we increase our awareness of these bridge moments? Luckily there is a state of being which can help in every area of life from lucid dreaming to the way you relate to others and to what you create. It is a state of absolute, balance, lucidity, awareness and relaxation. It is the journey into your core - an absolute zero of being so that all that does not serve you will fall away and the mind returns to its pristine state, able to be conscious of those lost frames and live at a higher frame rate. I call it the CENTRE POINT but In the current spiritual scene it known as the ‘Zero point consciousness’ because it is a state of nothingness and peace, although different people and teachers attach their own meanings, this is my definition.

I present four techniques to help you live in the zero point frequency, that I have used successfully and have taught to others. They are amazingly simple so that anyone can use them; surrender meditation, walking meditation, third eye alignment and alternate nostril breathing technique.

Often this comes in peak states brought about by things like dancing, music, spiritual activities and pleasure. But it can also be invoked through meditation.

The secret to the success of this meditation is that you are not really doing anything, which is the path that lets you journey to the sanctuary of your own core.

Enjoy this feeling of just ‘being’ for as long as possible. For the first 5-15 minutes there will be an ‘unwinding’ sensation in your energetic field as knots of energy are undone and things that no longer serve you vanish.

At around 15 minutes you may start to feel a column of white light entering you from your crown chakra (above your head). This is a natural energy connection we all have that is now being increased.

COOL

As you journey closer into the zero point you will start to feel a cooling sensation all around you. Now you know you are really there. You may notice that your breathing rate is faster and deeper. Through your minds eye you will see yourself immersed in luminous white light.

Now you should feel like you don’t want to leave... and you don’t have to.

You can incorporate this attunement into your life.

WALKING MEDITATION The goal is to move as slowly and as gracefully as possible.

To place each foot on the Earth with the lightest touch.

Get slower and slower with each step you make until you are moving in slow motion effortlessly, without any jerky movements or losing your balance.

Replace jerky interrupted movement with grace, flow and presence.

Try and get as slow as possible. The slower the better.

Do this outdoors in nature if you can. Bare foot is even better to feel the connection to your home, the mother Earth.

As you move more slowly and flow more gracefully, you will find you are increasing your frame rate. You are becoming aware of more moments than you were before.

From here you have found more time.

From here you can observe yourself from a distance.

From here the gap between you and the outside world is larger.

Answer the call of the third eye The third eye is one of the most important chakras for spiritual mastery. Biologically it’s centre is the pineal gland which is a tiny cone shaped gland in the centre of the brain, but it also integrates with the rest of the brain and in particular the hypothalamus, pituitary gland and ears.

The hypothalamus, pituitary gland and pineal gland are all essential hormone regulators. They release hormones (chemicals which regulate bodily functions) and their healthy function is vital for overall health and wellbeing.

The Hypothalamus helps control; body temperature, hunger, important aspects of parenting & attachment behaviors, fatigue, sleep and circadian cycles.

The Pituitary gland helps control; growth, blood pressure, some aspects of pregnancy & childbirth, breast milk production, sex organ function, thyroid gland function, the conversion of food into energy (metabolism), water regulation in the body, temperature regulation and pain relief.

The Pineal gland helps control sexual development and sleep-wake cycles through the hormone Melatonin and helps produce dimethyltryptamine (DMT) - (a psychedelic compound also found in plants and in high concentrations in plants used for shamanic rituals such as ayahuasca)

Rhythm of Life Hormones are the way our emotional primal spiritual selves are expressed in the physical world. They can be created and influenced by desires, feelings, and external stimulus. They also feedback onto themselves and are self regulating.

The whole human hormonal system can be looked at cyclically. Cycles within cycles.

It is therefore vitally important to get into your own natural healthy routine, your own rhythm of life suited to your own cycle. The more you follow the cycle, the more in harmony you will be with your body and the greater the communication with your third eye. It will teach you how to read it’s signals, and you will be able to hear it’s voice. Your own third eye can teach you far better than I for it has known your essence from the beginning. It can perceive all you ever were and all you ever will be. Doesn’t that sound like something you would want to know?

One of the most important natural cycles is the Circadian rhythm also known as the ‘internal clock’. We need adequate levels of sunlight/daylight and darkness in order for the correct hormones to be synthesised and secreted at the right times. Yet in modern life we resist this. We start the day by being shocked awake to the sound of an alarm instead of the gentle light rays of sunrise, we stay indoors under artificial lights instead of natural light and we stare at flickering screens late into the night when our primal self desires the fading of daylight into twilight and darkness.

The third eye itself contains a circle at its centre which flickers between white to black. It is at its most active at night when it wants to take us into the dream worlds hence the feelings of tiredness and sleepiness. So watching TV or using computers (which also flicker) late at night before bed are counterproductive if your desire is to have a good nights sleep or lucid dream. My personal recommendation is to avoid watching television or using computers at least 1 hour before bed.

THE THIRD EYE CHAKRA Has two indigo coloured petals that spin like a propeller and a circle in the middle that flickers between white and black.

‘CATS PURPLE RAIN’ This image is based to 2 visions I have seen. The first was seeing a vivid column of purple light entering a cats head, the second my own third eye chakra. The purple is the first colour that rains down the source energy of white and enters us through our crown chakra. A maroon redish colour enters us through our root chakra which is the first colour to come out of black.

Get to know your Third eye The third eyes nature is that it sees all, both the good and the bad. It’s pivotal role in your existence is why your third eye integrates with your over soul and ego, controlling your entire experience. Any freedom or control you think you have is a measure of how much liberty the third eye has given you.

Third eye Alignment Meditation Alignment of the third eye is essential for good conscious connection and a good dreaming experience whether it is Lucid or not. This is the technique I developed to connect with my third eye, so it is tried and tested!

This meditation is best practiced in a dark room before sleeping.

RELAX Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes Relax for the first few minutes to release the pressures and worries of the day Focusing of the lens Still keeping your eyelids down, ask your third eye to show you where to focus with your physical eyes, Say, “My Third Eye, show me where to look”. You should see a response from the third eye in the form of something standing out in the darkness usually around the area near the middle of your forehead although it may get you to focus on the corners of your peripheral vision, so a spot can appear anywhere. It may be a small blob of brown or grey or even a bright colour. Whatever it is focus with your physical eyes on that mark.

Soon after something else will catch your attention. Switch your gaze to that point and continue the process until you feel you are in alignment.

Ear pressure balance & Ujjayi At this stage you will notice your breathing sounds have changed. The breath naturally wants to switch to ‘Ujjayi’ breathing as it is known in Yoga. The Ujjayi is invoked because the brain waves have changed from waking to meditative. The consciousness has also moved closer to the centre of the mind due to the meditation. The breathe becomes more throat based which creates a characteristic ‘rushing’ sound. Like the breeze rustling the leaves in a tree, or the sound of the ocean. You can now consciously breathe this way to enhance it and direct it to each ear. The body now wants to create balance in the air pressure of both ears. Ujjayi breathing is essential for deep meditative sates as it supports you in the journey of spiritual exploration.

THE THIRD EYE CHAKRA An elliptical shape like the one in the centre of this page is an indication the third eye is aligned.

What you are seeing is its presence and it is ready to open up a bit more or communicate something with you. Pay attention to the colour.

Sometimes it can appear green, purple or blue.

These correspond to the colours of the other chakras and indications of what energy you may need to use. For example Green = Heart = love

THE TRIANGLE From this point your physical eyes will be used less. The information you are seeing is being perceived more by the third eye. Your three eyes together form an internal triangle with the third eye in the centre of the forehead. When all three eyes are used in unison psychic phenomena appear supper-imposed on physical reality. When the third eye sees alone, you are no longer in physical reality!

(For advanced practitioners you may feel the physical eyes ‘switch off’ and the third eye open to a gigantic size encompassing the entire head) LET THE SHOW BEGIN The first few occasions I saw & felt visions, including other life forms in my minds eye during meditations, I jumped or even gasped because they were so fantastic.

Scenes that make the movie Avatar look boring! They can at times be so astoundingly beautiful they can knock you out of the meditative state. The trick is to be able to hold the state - again the state of grace and the techniques outlined earlier will help with this. Some visions may appear inside your mind and others just outside your body with a depth to them, similar to viewing a 3D movie.

CLOSE DOWN & PREPARE FOR SLEEP It is important to prepare for sleep with a calm mind and a clear energetic field. Do a quick clearing by letting go and going to ZERO point. Set your intention for a good nights sleep or Lucid dream if necessary, and above all follow any tiredness signals the third eye sends.

ALTERNATE NOSTRIL BREATHING This is a classic breathing technique used in Yoga. it helps unblock the energy around the nose and head and also balance out breathing between each nostril. I started using this as a child after seeing it in a yoga book as a cure for insomnia. The Balanced flow of energy around the head helps Support the psychic abilities.

It’s worth understanding that a blockage around the nose or head area may be due to a blockage elsewhere in the body 1. START: Gently hold your left nostril closed with your thumb.

The fingers balancing on the forehead and breathe in for a slow count of 4 2. Hold Breath for a slow count of 4 3. SWITCH: Release left nostril held by thumb and use middle finger to close the right nostril & breathe out for a slow count of 4 4. Hold for a slow count of 4 5. Breathe in for a slow count of 4 6. Hold Breath for a slow count of 4 7. SWITCH: Release right nostril held by middle finger and close other nostril with thumb & breathe out for a slow count of 4 8. Hold Breath for a slow count of 4 9. AQUA VIBE A Revolutionary New Healing & Spiritual Exploration Tool for the 21st Century by Steven Nicolaides

A

t Lúcuma Magazine we have a motto; “Surfing the waves of change”, so when I received an invitation from 20:20 Healing arts centre to “surf the AquaVibe revolution” I was very intrigued and excited to try this newly developed healing device.

The AquaVibe itself looks like something straight out of a Sci-Fi movie. It has a glowing light running along the sides for no other reason other that to look cool! On the front there are lots of buttons and controls for the operator if they need to tailor make the experience for the client, although there are preset programmes all ready set up.

So how does it work?

AquaVibe is based on the principles of vibro acoustics. The client lies on the bed which is filled with water. Pure sinusoidal waves are sent through the liquid membranes which vibrate and resonate. To completely immerse the client in the experience, they wear headphones through which binaural beats are embedded in relaxing music. They also wear glasses which have LED lights on the inside that send light pulses. The whole experience is fully synchronised. This results in complete mind and body relaxation, increased muscle tone, greater sense of well being and a total energy boost for the cells in your body.

But the AquaVibe does much more that this. From a spiritual perspective it works on a deep cellular level stimulating your entire being even the subtle energy bodies. It activates the third eye and can even generate ‘Ascension’ like experiences.

My Experience

I laid on the AquaVibe and Anne-Marie fitted the glasses and headphones on me, My AquaVibe experience began with a consultation with a qualified practitioner. it isn’t long then pressed the start button. The journey had begun! AquaVibe

AquaVibe however is like driving at 100 mph on a motorway. Just as soon as you see something it’s gone and then there is something new that grabs your attention.

At 15 minutes into the experience I felt as if I was in a Lucid dream! I had taken my full waking consciousness into an altered state. The headphones on my ears suddenly morphed into the hands of a woman and the water beneath me felt like an ocean. The sound waves pulsating through my body felt like they were being generated by the singing of Dolphins and Whales!

Absolutely fantastic! The experience itself lasted 20 minutes but it felt like only 5 minutes. When it was over I really didn’t have a clue where or when I was! I had never experienced anything like this before! It felt like a Lucid dream but wasn’t. I felt energised yet relaxed. In addition to this towards the end of the experience I started to feel a past life memory coming up (and it wasn’t a pleasant one) - activated from the vibrations to my cells. Past lives are always impacting on our current lives especially if an experience or situation of a similar vibration triggers them off. Most people don’t notice this but those on the spiritual development path tend to be more aware of this.

As I filled in the feedback form I could barely piece a sentence together yet I was giggling (a common symptom of peak spiritual experiences) for no apparent reason.

Later in the day when I was at home, I felt the toning of my body that was expected. I could feel something was going on in my cells but not quite sure what. That night I experienced some more visions. I often see visions before bed time, but this time I knew it was due to the AquaVibe. Firstly my spirit guide showed me an image of someone looking through a microscope. This told me I was now having a closer look at what was going on at a cellular level and perhaps at an even higher magnification!

I could see and feel the millions of microscopic life forms that live within the human body, from bacteria to yeasts, and was aware that they had a consciousness, or that they were at least able to perceive. I also saw a tiny creature that looked like a plant seed only it had eyes, which at first startled me but then I realised it was packaged information just like a seed. However the information it carried was in relation to me! There were a few other visions beyond my recollection which were then followed by a surge of energy (chi) entering my body from the base of my spine and being stored in my kidneys. In traditional Chinese medicine the kidneys are referred to as our energy store, much like a battery. It was great to actually see and feel this happen!

My 2nd Experience

A few weeks later I had an opportunity for another surf of the AquaVibe, and this time the visions were more vivid. I engaged more with what I was seeing and I was also able to enhance their clarity and hold on a particular vision.

There experience was therefore much more revealing. For a fleeting moment I saw a spirit guide touch my energetic body. Again I saw the stimulation of the micro organisms of the body and could feel their presence. I received confirmation from my third eye that the AquaVibe does indeed stimulate and activate the third eye. It presented me with a magnificent vision of a pyramid with a floating capstone emanating light.

The Verdict

The AquaVibe does take some getting use to but once you do it is an incredibly powerful spiritual tool that one can use to explore various states of consciousness and dimensions. AquaVibe is such a unique experience and so new I cannot really compare it to anything else. It’s like mixing meditation, chanting, yoga, acupuncture, massage, reiki, lucid dreaming and a flotation tank all together! Currently there are only three in the world but there is already interest from Spa’s to use them as relaxation tools.

Location

20:20 Healing Arts Centre is located in the Canary Wharf peninsula of East London. Despite this area being a major global financial hub it has a very clam and peaceful energy. Perhaps because the peninsula itself is surrounded by the flow of the river thames and there are many large water docks interspersed between the buildings.

The 20:20 Healing Arts building also has a peaceful energy within it and some say the building acts as a faraday cage due to its exterior steal bars (keeping the healing energy inside the building). Whatever the reason, the location couldn’t be better for a healing.

My advice for anyone receiving a healing at 20:20 Healing Arts Centre or indeed any kind of healing in general, is to postpone traveling home afterwards or an hour or two to give the mind, body and spirit time to integrate. The London Docklands is a good place for relaxing walks and there are plenty of coffee shops and food outlets to use.

There are even two Crussh juice bars near Canary Wharf tube station (A takeaway outlet in the Tower Concourse and a larger one inside Jubilee Place mall)

The Egypt Connection

I always felt that Canary Wharf had an ancient temple energy about it. There are many grand well designed buildings around the site as well as water features made from granite stone.

Even the pavements of Canary Wharf are made out of granite (a favourite building material of many ancient cultures including the Egyptians).

The most well known building in Canary Wharf is One Canada Square, which has a pyramid on its roof and a blinking light at the very top that can be seen from all over London. In fact the whole of this area is full of pyramids and triangles. The Egypt connection doesn’t stop there. There is a building called ISIS house a few doors away to 20:20 Healing Arts (Isis is an important ancient Egyptian deity) and the Four Seasons Hotel has so many Egyptian features, it looks like it was transported from ancient Egypt! So what is the reason for all these connections, did the various independent architects and designers plan all of this?

Of course not, but on a much higher spiritual level I’m sure there is a grand plan. The spirit of the same idea that creates the original culture also influences other times and places so that the same work and themes can continue n

CAFE GRATITUDE

My mecca, my raw home. A restaurant where the hipster spiritual chic staff smile and embrace each other with the kind of genuine love that I normally only see at spiritual gatherings. Where an incident that creates a broken glass is softened by the team with clapping and cheering. Where two waiters on taking orders from their tables meet by chance and dance their way back to the kitchen. More than just a restaurant this is a community, and mistakes and happiness for no reason are warmly welcomed here.

There are sentiments of awakening and love adorning the walls, the water bottles and even the crockery. With a menu made of affirmations to name the delightful dishes each one begins with ‘I am…’ Thereby providing the diner the opportunity to ask for their meal through affirming something wonderful about themselves... For example: ‘I am cherished’, ‘I am courageous’ etc. On receiving your ordered dish from the waiter your meal is repeated back with ‘You are…’ and the self love journey is continued.

I was prepared for a magical experience after watching the life changing film ‘May I be Frank’, made by the sons of the owners, but I couldn’t have anticipated how good it really was. It’s true, it’s real. Love really does run this place.

As I receive my ‘I am awakening’ aptly named raw key lime pie, my waiter tells me “You are awakening”. I think he is right. I feel like my whole being is opening up in this place. The key lime pie is beyond amazing.

Light, creamy, tangy. An alchemy of avocado lime custard topped with coconut meringue in a pecan macadamia date crust. Simply devastatingly good.

I’m in love. To continue this wonderful journey into my soul my plate asks me...’what are you grateful for?’ My answer is...in this moment everything! I could not be more delighted!

My ‘I am luscious’ smoothie is the perfect companion. Almond milk, figs, dates, raw cacao and vanilla bean whipped together to create chocolatey deliciousness.

I’m converted. I want to give up my life as I know it and come and work here and be surrounded by this glorious food and this evolutionary lifestyle. I’m so grateful for this cafe. I’m so grateful to the founders, the staff and everyone who subscribes to this way of life. Just when I thought my experience couldn’t get any better the waitress comes up and asks me “would you like to know the question of the day?”

I took my chance and asked the question…”when will Café Gratitude come to London?” Cary smiled and says he “would love that”. I took home a happy stomach, a happy vibe and a whole new perspective on what is possible from a place of love, service and raw food :) And the story didn’t end there! In my two days in LA I managed to eat breakfast, lunch & dinner at this marvel of a café which is so much more than just that, it is a community in the making and a community all

about creating. Moral of the story is…go as often as you can, and try as much of the menu as possible and be part of the community. The experience and the food will not only nourish your body, but also your soul.

Be in the know: go early or expect to queue or be disappointed. This cafe has only been open 5 months, but their following is already super strong and I can totally see why! If Venice is too far from where you’re staying check out the Café Gratitude in Larchmont Boulevard

EUPHORIA LOVES RAWVOLUTION 38

A funky name for a grungy, hip, unassuming raw cafe that fits nicely into the chilled vibe of Main Street. Nestled amongst quirky alternative stores and opposite the blossoming Santa Monica community garden, this is a relaxed and less health conscious but more local raw experience. With the titles of burgers, rolls, pizza, pasta and Mexican on the mains menu you could be mistaken to think you’ve walked into just any cafe.

Unlike other raw cafes no philosophy lines the walls. In its place are pieces of edgy street art mixed with cheesy symbols of spirituality. Funky tunes, an urban vibe and a seat yourself policy make this place somehow homely and charming. The one staff member is warm, humble and attentive to the best of his ability.

With the majority of the menu focussing on the hearty meals and creamy drinks that are typical of the American diet this isn’t the most health conscious raw cafe, however perhaps they are providing a service beyond what some of their peers have managed by enticing the wary meat eater to try one of their familiar sounding meals and be amazed by how tasty raw can be!

I ordered the most typically American thing on the menu - chips and bacon burger. My chips are made of kale, my bacon is coconut jerky! Entirely wheat, dairy, gluten and soy free this burger is an

unexpected delight. It’s actually the best burger I’ve ever tasted! Raw or not. Yummy onion bread, lettuce, coconut jerky, kale chips, tomatoes and cashew mayo combine to create something really flavoursome and delightful!

I am wowed by the deliciousness of this raw burger. My delight is profound as I was actually expecting something much less tantalising. To top off my taste bud bursting burger I selected a cinnamon roll on recommendation from my waiter. This guy knows his sweets! Buckwheat granola, walnuts and a heavy amount of cinnamon for the crust. The inside of this beauty is a cream made from coconut cream, vanilla and cashews with cinnamon and coconut nectar. My

neighbour to my right hints with his eyes that he is intrigued what a spongy looking cake is like when it’s not baked! We agree to share our desserts after I enquire about the taste of his fluorescent chocolate spirulina torte. It might be hard to make friends with salad, but you can sure make friends with sweets I’m grateful for peeling myself away from the upbeat energy of Cafe Gratitude to sample this fare. Although the crowds and the celebs are abundant at Cafe Gratitude for they are creating something truly special, the understated fabulousness of Rawvolution definitely deserves a stop on any raw foodies trip.

MAGICAL - MYSTICAL -

WATER

“Be still like a mountain, flow like a river” - ancient proverb In eastern traditions, inadequate water intake is attributed to a lack of flowing chi/energy in the body. Distinguished Japanese scientist Masaru Emoto, author of best selling ‘Hidden Messages in Water’, has demonstrated through photography that water changes its structure according to; projected thoughts, words, music and environmental influences.

Water intake is crucial for health in order to assimilate nutrients, for cellular oxygenation, and to help flush toxins from the body. Be sure to drink 8 glasses of pure water daily, and from time to time, imbue it with positive thoughts and affirmations in order to enhance its multiple life force benefits.

2. THINK GREEN

The colour green is found in abundance in nature all throughout the year. It is equated with peaceful and harmonising emotions among indigenous communities.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, green foods are known to enhance the health of the liver and assist in opening up its detoxification pathways.

Vibrant green chlorophyll found in plants is almost identical in composition to human blood, and it is otherwise known as ‘liquid sunshine’. Therefore, water rich green leaves, green vegetables, wheat grass juice and fresh green vegetable juices, are an integral part of any detox/health programme.

3. SKIN BRUSHING

The skin is the body’s largest organ of elimination, and dry skin brushing is a great way to stimulate lymph flow, and to remove surface toxins on the skin.

Use an all natural dry skin brush before showering. Starting from the feet, gently brush on the outside of the legs in large sweeping motions, move up towards the heart, raising both arms up and continuing to brush each arm on the outside down towards the body. Try to incorporate this invigorating way to start your day several times a week and soon you won’t want to live without it.

4. SWEAT IT OUT

Exercise is a very important part of a detoxification protocol. It enhances circulation, lymph flow, cellular oxygenation, along with releasing numerous toxins through the sweat glands. Try power walking in nature, or short intensive interval training circuits, to fast track fat reduction and thus eliminate stored toxicity. The feel good factor that comes with the release of endorphins, positively impacts ones mental and emotional health as well.

Incorporate saunas into your detox programme, and seek out infra red saunas if possible, as they really target deeply embedded toxins in the cells of the body. # 6

5. KEY SUPER-FOODS Add in rejuvenating chlorella to your juices and smoothies, or eat alone in-between meals. This ancient green algae repairs DNA and RNA within the cells along with removing heavy metals and carcinogenic compounds from the body.

Mineral rich seaweed is an amazing superfood and is very beneficial during these times of ever increasing exposure to radiation. Different types have different health properties, all of which help to nourish the body and eliminate toxicity. Importantly, seaweed is able to both enhance and protect the health of the thyroid gland - and it helps to remove radiation and heavy metals from the body!

Another incredible superfood with very potent medicinal properties are sprouts. These are literally a powerhouse of nutrients that have between 20 to 30 times the nutritional value than the full grown vegetable. There are a wide spectrum of seeds that can be germinated and enjoyed for health benefits. Some of the all stars for a detox programme include: Broccoli sprouts for anti-cancer properties, Mung beans for digestibility and a rich source of zinc, and try adding Sunflower seed sprouts to your green juices, for an added source of complete protein to stabilise blood sugar.

6. CLUTTER CLEAR

Clutter clear your home. Aim to reduce the amount of stuff that we all tend to sentimentally hoard like; old magazines, cards, books, kitchenware and old clothes. Pass on to others, or give to charity and feel the lightness of being that follows. Space clearing creates a sense of order and calm in our often all too busy lives.

LOVE YOUR LIVER

Liver health is essential when working on detoxification. It is the grand filter and essential detoxifier organ. The state of health of the liver will determine how efficiently it’s able to release toxins out of the body. Signs of liver congestion include: headaches, skin disorders, nervous tension, anger, impatience and moodiness.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine the flavour sour helps to target and open the liver detoxification pathways. Add in sour foods such as lemons, limes, raw sauerkraut and green apples, in order to help the liver to detoxify and maintain balance.

Other key herbs and foods for liver detox include; dandelion (roots & leaves), milk thistle, onions & garlic, artichokes, olive oil and of course green vegetables!

8. NATURES RHYTHMS Working with the seasons is one way to enhance our bodies ability to thoroughly detoxify. In Ayurveda and Chinese medicine, starting from Vernal Equinox, the expansive energies of early spring are the ideal time to work on elimination via the liver. It’s also beneficial to schedule in a detox during the warm summer months up until the Autumn Equinox.

Tune into the lunar cycles. Ancient cultures and bio-dynamic farmers, have long been aware of the benefits of working with the different phases of the moon when it comes to health and crop cultivation. The ideal time to work on detoxification is after the full moon, during the waning moon period and up until the day of the new moon, for this is the time of the moons cycle that optimises healing and elimination. Try it and notice the difference!

9. ELIMINATION Colon health is key when it comes to detoxification. When the colon is sluggish, food waste is reabsorbed through the bowel wall and back into the blood stream, which then perpetuates further toxicity and internal ‘murky pond syndrome’.

Increase the food transit time by including lots of fibrous vegetables.

Add in colon cleansing support such as: Aloe Vera juice, Psyllium seed husks and Triaphala used in Ayurvedic medicine.

For deeper cleansing, consult with an experienced colonic hydrotherapist to assist in thorough removal of toxic waste buildup.

10. RELEASE

WHAT NO LONGER SERVES YOU Detoxification means to let go, and release, what it is that no longer serves us on different levels including; food, drinks, addictive patterns, old stories, beliefs and toxic relationships.

In doing so, we allow the space to welcome in the new, better appreciate living in the moment, and to live life full of exuberance, creativity and joy-filled moments!

So what have you been up to since we last spoke to you?

I have been deepening my experiments with digital art, expanding my skills and trying to take my work to new places.

One of my realisations right now is that I want my artwork to start containing inspiring messages that facilitate positive self development.

I have an idea for a series of works that focuses on many things such as diet, meditation, dream exploration, taking up art forms etc.

The idea is to create pieces that show the positive effects of making small changes in our lives and the positive effect it has on an individual and consequently the world.

Becoming a vegetarian/vegan made a huge difference in my life for the better, it has increased my health and happiness beyond what I thought possible and in a small way made a difference to the planet.

I have also been working with some of my idols and learning how to paint with oils in the mische technique, it has been such a rewarding experience so far and I expect to be producing some original oil paintings soon.

And for the future I am starting to plan some digital painting classes, it will be amazing to pass on my skills to others who are looking to create.

Have you had any more developments in your astral travels and Lucid dreams?

My Astral and Lucid dreams have taken more of a back seat in my life at the moment, I get a few awesome experiences now and again but they are no longer informing my work directly. Of course a lot of my dream and astral experiences are still being shown through my work as it’s an influence I will never shake off. But I am trying to base my work on new inspirations for now.

Although I have to say my dream and astral experiences keep getting stronger and provide a boost of inspiration when I am needing it the most.

‘The Other Side’ which was featured on Lúcuma 02’s cover was our most popular to date, what are your memories of painting that image?

qq PRIDE

‘The other side’ was a very meaningful painting, I received it while I was still working in a factory and before I had the freedom of living as a creative freelancer, I saw the image so strongly in my mind and knew I had to bring it into existence. The piece came together really fast it must have only taken 8-10 hours total. The piece at the time was a revelation and a noticeable step up in my ability.

The pose is slightly meditative and open, but there is a hidden frustration behind the piece because of my life situation at the time, the person looks almost shackled to the floor and looking upwards for hope. I didn’t see this at the time of creation as I was too into the creative process, but reflecting on it now has revealed this new information.

I have heard many times that a musicians best pieces just flow to them and they know whether its going to be a hit or well received, this piece is a visual example of that, I had a similar certainty that this piece would stand as a landmark for me. I am just really glad that it was so well received and has been viewed by a large audience!

Do you feel ‘plugged in’ to a higher force when you create?

There are many feelings I go through when creating and there is definitely a sense of plugging in or tuning into something special.

It feels like a blend between plugging into something which is higher and greater than myself while also tuning deep within myself to reach this optimal state of mind to bring forth my art.

When I start a piece I can often feel anxious or excited because I have a certain level of expectation for myself.

Once the base image is down I relax and find myself in a timeless trance, it feels automatic, an effortless process of expressing all I have learnt throughout my development.

And finally as the piece emerges and starts to shine through it really becomes a deep loving meditative process, it’s almost like having an epic visionary journey where in the end you thank yourself, the substance or something higher for the experience.

For me it’s becoming a loving process that carefully crafts a lasting artifact to share with the world.

TASTE OF TANTRA (PART 3)

I

n the second part of the series, entitled “Dark and Bitter”, the continuing journey of individuation, from childhood into adolescence and early adulthood, took us to the heart and I shared with you a meditation practice for connecting with your deeper truth and authentic feeling.

Well, in many ways, this has been the greatest life lesson for me: listening to and living from the heart. Inevitably, I’ll keep returning to that, but there’s more at play… Continuing the story and looking back to my twenties, nothing was so simple, as I experienced complex dynamics, both in my inner and outer experience.

Learning, through formal studies, as well as through rich life experiences, was ever so high a priority, as was the increasing desire for self-advancement, in terms of professional career, general lifestyle and in the area of relationships. The exposure to more and more people and cultures through more extensive travel, new and diverse life situations and relationships brought about many new roles, perspectives and perceptions of self.

To a great extent, as a young adult, I was discovering and defining myself more in relation to the external, what life and the people around me presented, and less on the basis of my inner feeling or sense of self. I often got to see what worked for me by coming up against all those things that did not work so well at all…

There was certainly an urge to act and to assert myself in some way, a response to a call for self-actualization. At the same time, however, I appeared to be moving against myself a lot of the time, behaving in destructive ways, hitting walls of suffering and pain, challenges, frustration, feelings of futility, disempowerment and loss. My attempts to think things through, to take charge, be in control or “do the right thing” did not necessarily bring me much fulfillment, joy or peace.

It didn’t take long to recognize that my thoughts and behaviours were largely defined by internalized, unconscious patterns. I had become my own worst critic and kept falling victim to my own mental constructs and habitual reactions.

I was also taking on a masculine “shell” with a strong mental orientation and an outward focus. Intellectual pursuits and a sense of duty to perform well in the world won over feeling-good activities or relaxation. What was measurable, substantiated by reason and proven by evidence and historical experience was deemed superior and more dependable than feelings and intuition. Emotions were problematic.

The more masculine expression (also in the area of sex and relationships) of going out there and taking action was, at times, to the detriment of my feminine, intuitive and feeling aspect, my sensitivity and discrimination. When my feminine felt too hurt, I would withdraw, partially or completely, at least for a time.

My relationships were governed by underlying dynamics, more than any conscious intention. Other people — and life itself — mirrored my own inner state. Life was fulfilling and enjoyable to the extent that I was integrated and at peace within.

I had work to do…

Spirituality, personal development and enhancing my quality of life have always been closely entwined for me. Over the years, I explored and benefited from a very broad range of teachings and therapeutic modalities, studying body, mind and spirit, healing, clearing and developing myself in as many ways as I could and felt drawn to — and I continue to do so.

The way is different for each person and your journey is unique to you, but what you will most likely find is that your happiness starts within.

There are many aspects to bring to the light, to integrate and harmonize, but as you take responsibility for yourself and for the life you create for yourself, you are empowered to move beyond personal and collective histories and to live the life of your dreams.

Tantra and Taoism offer complete systems for the understanding of human nature, as well as of universal, cosmic principles. Physicality and spirituality, material and transcendent are never separated, seen as two sides of one coin. Potent Tantric and Taoist practices facilitate physical, mental, emotional and psychic clearing and growth, so that we may attain self-mastery, ease and a loving existence.

One of the basic ideas is the dance between Yin and Yang, Shakti and Shiva, feminine and masculine: these are understood as cosmic forces or principles, not to be confused with gender identity. On one level, these two principles translate as Consciousness (masculine) and Energy (feminine) and manifest in every aspect of life, including in our human psyche.

The fundamental Tantric practice is to cultivate the witness consciousness: an everpresent, non-judgmental awareness that simply observes all that is experienced internally and

externally. At the same time, the feminine is cultivated by accepting and engaging with whatever is, immersing ourselves in the experience of the here-now, every present moment, as fully as possible, embracing each experience without judgment.

Meditation and body-based practices help to develop a more integrated and flexible stance, so that we are able to flow with each experience, gently navigating our course through life. Partner practices are by no means essential — one could follow a Tantric or Taoist path on one’s own perfectly well — but they can accentuate the dynamic between masculine and feminine poles, powerfully mirror unconscious aspects for each partner, and raise more energy to fuel the process of healing, dissolution of hindrances and personal transformation.

Have you considered your inner masculine and feminine? Are you honouring both of them in your life choices?

The masculine is connected with our sense of purpose, our place in the world and how we choose to offer service. The feminine is the part that feels profoundly, intuits and, full of emotional energy, powers the journey, bringing joy and nourishment on the way. The feminine prevents the masculine from hardening and from losing touch with the heart, whilst the masculine provides important structure, direction and consistency.

Notice, then, your choices and attitudes around work, finances, home, friends and loved ones. Are your masculine and feminine balanced, giving and receiving what is needed in each situation?

Simply ask yourself: “what is my feminine/masculine experiencing in this situation?” and notice what comes to your awareness. If it helps, you can picture your inner man and woman as characters: you can observe them and their interactions, and even converse with them.

here are 3 Principles used to explain life that help us to understand that we are thinking beings, powered by a divine intelligence who all have innate health and innate wisdom.

They are: Universal Mind, the intelligence behind all living things; Universal Consciousness, our sensory awareness of the world; Universal Thought, a gift that enables us to navigate life.

Every single living cell on Earth has an innate wisdom. Each of us has access to wisdom in any situation that we can rely on to guide us safely. We also have innate health; a wellbeing that is always whole and intact, that can never be damaged or taken away from us.

Our thinking is the way we create our reality. It is how we give meaning and context to situations and creates how we feel about them. However, we have a lot of thinking about our thinking and at times this can take us away from our innate health and innate wisdom.

The fact is that our thinking comes and goes, shifts from low quality to high quality and creates corresponding feelings within us.

Unlike many suggestions by NLP specialists, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and Hypnotists, we cannot control our thinking. Our thinking is arbitrary and when we take all of our thoughts seriously, we can get ourselves caught up in all types of suffering.

Innate health is our default setting. We are designed to live peaceful productive lives and we are able to live simply when we understand our feelings as a guide to the quality of our thinking.

understand that our thinking shifts between high quality thoughts and low quality thoughts, we can begin to use our feelings as a guide to whether our thinking can be trusted in the moment. When our thinking is high quality, our thoughts are calmer and quieter and we feel able to make decisions from our wisdom. When our thinking is low quality, we get caught up in thoughts of stress, depression and anxiety that create those feelings within us. Innocently, we take our thinking and feelings seriously and try to work out why we are feeling uneasy and how we can rectify the situation.

Unfortunately, more low quality thinking only creates more low quality feeling and before long we are caught up in the middle of a thought storm, unable to find a solution to any of the problems we are imagining.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

As we come to accept that we cannot control our thinking, we begin to allow our thinking to flow without holding on to any one thought and grappling with it. We learn to be comfortable with any feelings of discomfort caused by low quality thinking because we know that new thinking will come along bringing new feeling with it. When we understand the nature of thought, we stop judging our thoughts as good or bad and start listening

for a feeling of health before we act on anything we think.

Understanding that thinking is natural and inevitable allows us to stop attaching meaning to our thoughts no matter how real they feel.

Accepting our thinking in any moment without placing too much importance on it allows us to live from our wisdom more frequently. We are able to measure the quality of our thinking with our feelings and begin to be less caught up with feelings that are causing us angst. We can know that at every moment, our innate health is operating and when we allow our thinking to flow and our low quality thinking to clear, we are able to reconnect with our default setting of wellbeing on a more frequent basis.

This understanding enhances every area of our lives.

In Relationships Once we are able to use our feelings as a guide to our thinking and allow our thinking to flow, we can begin to see when others are innocently caught up in their thinking. We know that no great decision is ever made from the middle of a thought storm so when the people around us are experiencing low quality thoughts and feelings, we are able to recognise this and pay less attention to anything they say in that moment. Our dealings with other people become smoother and more pleasurable

as we remind ourselves not to take anything they say seriously when they speak in moments of stress. We are able to wait for them to calm down before getting involved in a discussion. We will find that people are most often entirely receptive to us when we speak from our health as they connect with the feeling of love in our approach. Being able to see that at times we all get innocently caught up in our thinking and innocently act on low feelings, allows us to be more accepting and forgiving of the people in our life and in their moments of low mood, reach out to them from our higher thinking.

Living in Meditation Many people practice meditation as a way of learning to allow their thinking to flow because they feel they need to control it. The art of meditation becomes a way of living once we understand that thoughts shift constantly and that we do not need to pay particular attention to the ones that make us feel uneasy. Once we understand how thinking works, we are able to let our thoughts come and go, using our feelings as a guide to which thoughts we take seriously.

We no longer need to practice how to live in peace because we know how to do it.

Letting Go of the Past Thoughts of our past can constantly haunt us because our thinking creates feelings that seem so real, it is as though the situation is happening again. But when we understand that our memories are just thoughts that can shift at any time, we are able to stop fearing them and engaging with them and let them pass. It is the most liberating understanding that our past is not happening anymore. It is just a memory we are having in the present moment where new thinking is available every minute that will bring new feeling with it. When we wake up from a nightmare, we feel relief and any memory we have of it during the day, we let pass without paying much attention to. No matter what has happened in our past, the experience can be seen like a nightmare we have woken up from. We may still think about it at times but it is not happening anymore and we are safe, free to live the happy, healthy, productive lives that we know are our birthright.

Embracing Healthy Lifestyles Understanding that we are not our thinking means that we are entirely able to live the lives of our dreams, free from any fear that we may have thoughts that tell us we are not allowed or able to. When we understand that no thoughts are ever right or wrong and that it is only our thinking about them that judges them to be good or bad, we are able to stop judging ourselves on our thinking and stop identifying with our thoughts. We understand that our identities are just constructs created by the thinking we have paid most attention to. At times we all innocently act from low quality thinking but we are not our actions, no matter how many times we repeat them. When we stop identifying with thinking that prevents us from living happy, healthy lives, we are free to embrace a lifestyle that supports our innate health and accesses our wisdom. We are never what we think or what we do. We are beings of love and when we let go of thinking that defines and represses us, we are able to live from our health, safe in the knowledge that we always have innate wisdom to guide us n

Cashew & Raspberry Cookies Recipe by NAMA Foods with the collaboration of Alessandra Felice

These cookies take literally 5 minutes to put together and about ½ hour in the freezer to set and they are ready to be eaten. They are the perfect snack for an impromptu afternoon tea with some friends as they are so quick to put together!

Ingredients - Makes 2 servings 1 cup cashew flour (cashew nuts powdered in a blender) ¼ cup maple syrup ¼ cup raw cacao butter, melted ½ cup fresh or thaw frozen raspberries (or banana pieces, or raisins, or dried mango, or cacao nibs etc…)

Method In a bowl mix the cashew flour with the maple syrup and the melted cacao butter. Then add the fruits (or cacao nibs or filling of choice) and mix evenly.

Take a tray lined with greaseproof paper and drop spoonfuls of the mixture and shape it to desired cookie size with a spoon. Place the tray in the freezer to set and when the cookies are firm enough, remove them from the paper and place them in a plate to serve.

Chocolate & vanilla cream cookies Recipe by NAMA Foods with the collaboration of Alessandra Felice These cookies are chocolate rich and filled with a delicate vanilla cream.

They are very satisfying and remind you of Oreos, and yes, you can separate the tops and bottoms and eat the filling first!

Ingredients For the bases and tops 2 cups almond flour 1 cup cacao powder 1 cup maple syrup Pinch of Himalayan salt 2 tsp vanilla powder Mix all ingredients together in a bowl until you have a paste. Extend the paste in between teflex sheets using a rolling pin to the desired thickness. With a cookie cutter, cut the rounds for the tops and bottoms of the cookies.

Remember to make even numbers of rounds! Dehydrate them for 8 hours or overnight until dry.

TIP- If you don’t have a dehydrator, you can still make these - just place the rounds in the freezer. They will be softer, but the flavours will remain the same.

For the filling 1 cup cashews

¼ cup cacao butter + 1tbps ¼ cup coconut oil ½ cup xylitol, powdered 1 & ½ teaspoons vanilla Pinch of Himalayan salt

¼ cup water Making the cookies To assemble the cookies place some of the vanilla cream on one of chocolate rounds and press with another one to extend the filling through all the surface.

That’s it! They keep in the fridge for at least 1 week- that is, if you don’t eat them all straight away!

TIP- The excess of filling can be used as topping or frosting on raw cupcakes or cakes or just double the amount of chocolate rounds to make lots of cookies in one go.

Easy & quick nut milk recipe Recipe by NAMA Foods with the collaboration of Alessandra Felice

The almonds can be replaced by other nuts to create different nut milk flavours. Although we tend to use almonds because of their great nutritional profile, we also like to use hazelnuts and brazil nuts.

Ingredients 1 cup almonds, soaked for 8 hours 3 cups filtered water Âź teaspoon vanilla powder 1 tablespoon maple syrup or coconut sugar Pinch of Himalayan salt Method Blend all ingredients together and strain through cheese cloth or nut milk bag. The milk keeps in the fridge for about 3 days.

She has a background in working in the performance arts and transitioned into the healing arts in the late 1990s.
